Gluek's Restaurant & Bar Ratings and Reviews
Lunchtime Team Retirement Celebration - food was great, staff very responsive, warm ambiance. Love the steak & mushroom salad! So many restaurants/bars have TVs and/or loud music - at Gluek's, we can always hear each well and have good conversation. Well worth planning our celebration at Gluek's!
Awesome food, great service and close to Target Field. It was nice to make on-line reservations and the table was already when our group of 13 arrived. We were able to order, eat and make it to the Twins game on time. Thank you for being a part of a fun evening with friends.
Glueks used to have great big beer mugs, 25 oz. mugs (Babooshkas). That was really cool and that is what we came back for. Granted that was a long time ago, but the piece of crap tiny little mugs they serve their beer in now...well, it's not worth going out of your way to go here anymore. Everything changes....and usually for the worse!
The food was fine but very simple. For a German themed restaurant there wasn't really anything on the menu that reflected that. My wife had the stroganoff with two wafer thin slices of bread a vegetable side or salad would have been great. I had the sausage party plate which was good and for that type of entrée an offering of bread would have been good but wasn't available....I asked but was told doesn't come with the meal.
We had a very large group. They were very accommodating of us. Server worked very hard and had lots of back-up from other staff members. Food was very good, arrival of meals was pretty staggered, but that can be expected when dealing with a bigger group. Beverage refills were plentiful, and they did a great job pre-bussing the table so we could have a post meal drink without sitting in our dirty dishes .
The issues everyone else comments about Glueks held true. Incredibly loud (people play this beer/dice game. Picture grown adults yelling at the top of their lungs. We had to ask to be moved to the back and two other parties asked to be moved after us), hard time getting waiter to return to our table after food came (another waitress refilled our drinks), and the place looks tired. However, food was good! They were out of two things we wanted (stroganoff and apple crisp) but the sliders were tasty and hot. Husband liked his meal too. Sorry can't recall what he had. Pretzels with cheese were very tasty. Go to this place if you've got tons of time and patience because the food was good. Ask to sit in the back if you want to visit with someone.
