Weekend Brunch 10:30am - 3:00pm
Very noisy. Don’t bother with the satay. Drinks are weak. The wait staff was completely unprepared and disorganized, often arriving together and looking at each other like what do we do? Their energy transferred to all of the customers. Lava cake was good.
Great food and drink and very attentive service for 4 of us before a concert.
Overall it was a very good experience. Only thing really lacking was our server. Not sure if she had too many tables or they were really spread out, but she was never there when we needed anything. Had to ask others for service which is very annoying in a place you expect good service.
Not very impressive, didn't like the chairs or carpet. Chairs too heavy especially trying to tuck in to the table. Food was just okay.
Very impressed with the service and food at Glowbal - perfect for sharing
It was for a birthday dinner. None of my requests were fulfilled. Hostess seemed frazzled. I was very upset as I made my reservation quite some time in advance for a birthday dinner. The server made things relatively better. The ribeye was very dry and chewy and overcooked even when I requested for it to be rare. Came out to be more medium. For the lobster paella, some of the mussels tasted fishy. Also tried to order my favourite dessert there and it was sold out. Actually tried to order two desserts and it was both sold out. The tuna poke for appetizer was very subpar... The only redeeming factor was the brioche bread and the soup. The third dessert I tried to order that was available tasted quite decent as well. I enjoyed my cocktail but not so much of my friends cocktails. All in all, it was quite a disappointing experience for a friend’s birthday. Perhaps, if I do return it will be for just cocktails and maybe appetizers and dessert. I am not sure if I will return for a special occasion or for entrees. Another plus is the atmosphere and decor is trendy and upscale.
HAD A GREAT TIME, EXCELLENT SERVICE, went with my husband for dinner and we enjoy our meals, wine suggestion was excellent, food and desserts were amazing.
My wife and I were there for our anniversary. We were seated promptly, our waiter JP came over and got us some water and took our drink order. We received our appetizers oysters and clams but we didn’t have any side plates to eat off of. After the appetizers we ordered our dinner which was very good, the tuna and halibut. My wife ordered a glass of wine before dinner but we had to ask for it a couple of times. The desert platter we received was a very nice gesterure, thank you. The manager stopped by our table and was quite nice, turns out he grew up in our neighbourhood.
Food was amazing and our server was very helpful with recommendations and attentive as well as funny. I would definitely recommend Glowbal to others. Although this is an expensive restaurant it is worth every penny.
Great happy hour options. But hostess are a bit snobby. A smile could go a long way....
Glowbal happy hour is great! Love the infamous brussel sprouts and the house wine was a chardonnay!
The outside tent area is cozy and warm even on a cold evening, and the staff were very attentive. Food came right away, and was yummy. I highly recommend the Glowbal Happy Hour for a quick bite, drink before an event. Nice venue for people watching too.
Our waitress was OUTSTANDING. She knew I what I wanted before I did. Honestly so very impressed with the service here. I left behind my sunglasses but no worries, I’ve got another paid :)
Good service unfortunately very loud brash clients. Food was good not amazing however the dining room was very nice. Maybe I hit it on a odd night, I might try it again however would not suggest it to friends at this point.
Absolutely incredible food, service and atmosphere. Will be back!
We went for Sunday brunch and the staff seemed to be less experienced then they are during dinner service. Our server was nervous making our Caesars which we waited 20 minutes for because their cart was busy and another server who poured our soup was sloppy and inexperienced. The food arrived to the table cold and the eggs were overcooked.
The dining room is jammed packed with little room to move your seat back to get comfortable. Overall we were under whelmed and disappointed with the meal. With so many great options downtown we are not likely to go back for brunch.
Food was delicious. Felt like we were pushed through; No lingering over coffee.....
Nice location and we were seated upstairs on the mezzanine level. Being seated by the bar added to the passing traffic and it wasn’t long before a large nearby group became loud enough to add significantly to the ambient noise. This is NOT a spot if you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner or even for quiet conversation with friends.
For a party of 4 the chairs are comfortable but the bench seating is awkward to get into and too low leaving chins too close to the table.
Service was spotty - starting out prompt but soon deteriorated as our friends San Pelligrino was refilled but our wine was not as other duties called. The noise contributed to confusion over our dessert order (dissappointed the creme brûlée wasn’t made that day - Saturday??) so a second order had to be placed to make sure our friends had their dessert too.
Our friends found the lamb shank dry and disappointing considering the time taken to prepare. The halibut special was superb as was the Ahi Tuna dinner.
I know my review nickname would suggest I’m grumpy and not much pleases me. But good food and good service is worth 15% or more and the problem spots such as this need to be straightened out.
Not likely to see a return any time soon.
wonderful dinner and our waiter, Marco, made the experience. very enthusiastic when we asked about the menu and details such as the garlic on the carpaccio.
Food was mostly salty and oily. Did not enjoy it.
The staff accommodated special needs for seating and gave excellent service. The food was great! The music was too loud. Having washrooms downstairs was a disadvantage for us.
The only downside was that we were sitting in front of a fireplace, which was blasting out hot air like a furnace at our table :)
service and food was amazing, people watching was fun
A well designed and striking venue. Attentive staff. The food presentation while trying to be artistic looked like a splattered mess across all three plates I saw. Blackened chicken was served cold with zero flavour. Do not recall having a bad experience before at a Glowbal branded restaurant before.
The food was, as usual, excellent. However, our server, Adam, really made it a next-level dinner for us. He's charming but not smarmy, personable and friendly but not overly familiar, and extremely knowledgeable. He's a real asset to the company and made our special occasion very special indeed.
The service provided by food runners was horrible and rude! Food was just dropped on table with no offering of cheese , pepper or any other staples usually provided by ALL other restaurants. Waiting over 20 minutes for our first cocktails to be delivered was also very disappointing especially for a place that boasts a lively lounge!
Food was fresh, hot but bland do to lack of seasoning. Quality Chefs taste and season there food before they send it to the paying patrons.
You need to work on your staffs people skills or you will definitely see a slow down in repeat customers.
I’ve eaten at Global six times over that past year and this was our THIRD sub par experience. So much that I felt the need to write a review.
I’m not a foodie or a jerk, I just wanted to give it to you straight.
We are 42 year old locals who eat all over the city. Just saying....
Tried to make a reservation on the patio (which is primarily why I chose that restaurant). We ended up sitting in the upstairs area which was extremely quiet and had a weird vibe that night. Our server forgot my soda water and another server had to be asked. No mention of why we couldn’t sit on the patio. Our server was very hard to track down through dinner and even though he knew we had a theatre show to catch, disappeared and made it tight for our show. Food was good, the table was super rocky. Really wanted to like this place but we won’t be back anytime soon.
Awesome food and ambiance. Walking distance to Roger's arena where we saw a concert following dinner. The waitress was great. Lots of checkins and ensured we were finished with enough time to hit the concert. A great night on the patio and in downtown Vancouver.
Meal came late because of a mix up. Received apologies from the manager and server, also a very yummy desert. :)
Cassandra was as friendly as she was knowledgeable. Excellent meal, added bonus a very good value.
Great food! Great service!
Our server was Zach and he was outstanding. Very pleased with all the attention we were given. The food was good as well.
Beautiful restaurant and good value for the quality one gets. Off day on service as the restaurant was short staffed. Covering staff tried to do their best in this busy restaurant.
Stylish restaurant with outstanding brunch menu including delectable weekly feature. Very enjoyable breakfast with very attentive table service. Thank you, Kirsti. Always a great pleasure able experience!!
Great value and generous portions for lunch.
Was visiting from Australia and wanted a relaxed, but special dining experience. The food was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the night.
Very expensive disaster dinner. Firstly we were seated on the Terrace without being asked when the booking was made - no room inside. Then given a cold drafty seat, moved to a warmer one which was so ridiculously warm our heads started to get sunburn. Service was sporadic, 3 of our dishes were cold and I had to get out of my seat and go and find someone to remedy the situation. They comped us some deserts but the overall atmosphere, service and quality was extremely poor, especially given the price. Saw what looked like a coach tour volume of people leaving the restaurant which I suspect caused some of the issues with the service. Waitress was polite and did her best but this is a very large restaurant with many covers - they should not accept so many bookings if they cannot organise their kitchen and staff. Not a good experience for our guests who were visiting from out of town.
Had an awesome time the food was excellent. Our server did an great job
We had a great evening with 4 friends. The dinner was excellent and the service/attention that Devon gave us was outstanding.
Our waiter Steven was wonderful and attentive to our party of 4. It took a while to get our drinks when we first arrived, but he kept checking in on us and explaining what was going on, so at least we felt like we weren’t abandoned. Food was phenomenal as was the wine, loved the atmosphere and ambiance. I’ll be coming again!
We went during happy hour and the outside area was crazy. We were seated inside and promptly forgotten in a nice quiet dining room. A lovely manager realized the situation and expertly remedied everything. It was a pleasant evening on our first night in Vancouver and the staff was eventually great! The oysters were terrific as well!
