The food was up to its usual high standard. But for the first time in countless visits, the service was lacking. Max, our server, took our order promptly and efficiently; but he FORGOT to bring the amuse bouche. AFter we had almost finished our salads, I asked a passing server if that treat had been discontinued. She said "of course not" and brought one immediately. Max never came by to apologize and we never saw him again until we asked for the bill at the end of our meal. Thought you should be aware.
Varied menu, food selected was delicious had a hard time deciding what to have. Lots of healthy and vegetarian options, flexible at making changes.
amazing food and ambience, just hoping live music will be on weekends too, staff were very friendly and our server was superb send our big thanks to him... over all it was a great get together experience for us here and definitely will recommend it to others
Such a fantastic spot for a friday night! Enjoyed the live latin music on the patio and the food was absolutely devine. We could not pass on the $19 pitchers of sangria either... such a lovely evening!
The staff were terrific. We were a party of 4 and the food, wine, beer and desserts were most enjoyable.
This was not my first time at Glow but it was the first time we were a bit disappointed with the food. I had the Asian noodle bowl tat redefined ‘bland’ and one “co-diner” has pear and Gorgonzola pizza (okay for one slice but the cheese became overwhelming) .
The other three diners were happy!
All good! Service, tasty ! Awesome!! But dont you think you guys need more toaster? :(
We had a great time. Our server was wonderful and attentive. Everyone was exceptionally nice and welcoming.
The service was really quick (bringing food and drinks). The Latin band was great! However, the food was sub-par. Salad sounded promising yet underwhelming in execution and taste (burnt bacon). Pizza also sounded great yet lacked balance, way too salty. Sorry to say, can’t recommend. We’ve been a few time before and had positive experiences - not this time.
First time having calf liver in a non-oriental restuarant & it was quiet tender & delicious, that is if you like entrails.
Flies of all sizes and kinds surrounded our table and food. Our birthday gal ordered the Ahi Tuna salad and was rushed to the washroom before and after taking the cheque.
Service wise. Had to wait quite a while for a high chair. The girl who welcomed us forgot about our request and we had to seek help from somebody else and waited longer for a high chair.
The restaurant was not packed.
Menu items for brunch buffet were very lacking, not as much items as advertised on the website. Website mentioned french toast, waffles and pancakes but only had waffles that were overcooked. Waiter did not attend to us until 30 min after we started eating. We had to ask for water from a different waiter before out waiter introduced himself. Omellette station was the best part of the buffet. Food was replenished fairly quickly.
The service was extremely slow with servers taking 30 min before bringing us drinks. The food had no flavour and my steak on the surf N turf was over cooked when I asked for medium. This was my second time in 4 yrs but I will not go back, as the quality has gone sharply down hill. Disappointed.
We have dined at Glow many times and always enjoyed it. Our most recent visit was the best yet. The food was delicious. Loved the Kale Caesar and the thin crust pizza. Guests enjoyed the Gnocchi. What made this visit especially enjoyable was our server, Shayna. She was very pleasant, efficient and attended to our needs at just the right time. A very pleasant evening for our special occasion!
Friendly waiter and good food
Price is on the steep side
Perfect venue for a nice business dinner....and Thursday offers half price bottle of wine so we had very nice wine within our Travel and Entertainment (T&E) policy budget!
Was just ok. The waiter didn't seem to eat anything on the menu except the pasta dishes and beer. So it was hard to get a true idea on whether to try a different dish or not.
Lousy dining experience from proverbial soup to nuts. Service was inattentive and slow. The food was one step above cafeteria quality. One of our friends sent back his meat-disguised-as-steak - and the manager still charged him for half of it, despite the fact we told the server that my own steak was over-cooked (i ate it - I hate wasting food). To top it off as we were leaving we wanted to let the manager know about our experience and give her some civil feedback. She was curt and dismissive. Sadly after six plus visits between us and our friends, we won’t be going back. The food (and the experience) left a very sour taste in our mouth.
Food wasnt too bad . We spent 5 hours in the patio but the waitress barely checked on us after the first hour, it was a challenge to get dessert and coffee. Had not intention to complain about her, but she burned one of my friends with the hot water when serving the tea.... it was an accident yes, but what if it was a kid? Need to be more careful.
Great food in a lovely location. Outdoor space is quite nice as well.
The food and table service are very good and the design of the restaurant is very inviting. The large glass doors to the patio that stretch the length of the restaurant are kept open in the summer connecting the meal to the vibrant community. One problem was when I asked for a white wine spritzer I got a dirk made with Sprite instead of soda. Be careful to be clear about what drink you want when you order.
Thank goodness for the out door patio. Inside was too noisy to talk. Outside the ambience was comfortable. Service was relaxed and we were not pressured to order or finish quickly. It was most enjoyable. Everyone had a different entrée and each of us enjoyed their meal. The complementary desserts for the "Birthday Ladies" was most appreciated.
It was yummy
So disappointing - been there before and it has gone down. We ordered drinks which the server brought one at a time. Then she forgot to bring the soup altogether and only brought some of the entrees. So,some of us were eating while others were waiting for food. Two of the four entrées ordered were inedible. To her credit, the manager offered alternatives and removed the charges for the uneaten entrees. Deserts were great! Poor food and service!
Service was impeccable but the quality has decreased since summer 2014. I will not be returning because I was a little disappointed.
A group of six girlfriends attended on a Friday night.
The outdoor patio area was full so we sat just inside the restaurant, close to the live music.
I had the herb gnocchi with chicken-it was good but some of the chicken pieces was burnt so it had a burnt taste to it. For dessert, I had the apple strudel, it was a huge piece. Some others had the smore dessert for 2, they said it was tasty but the marshmallow on top was very hot and they burned their mouths on it.
There was a latin band playing, they were quite good. When they took a break, the piped music was turned on, it was extremely loud as the speaker was right over our table. We had to ask them to turn it down.
The sangria pitcher special was a great deal and tasted delicious.
Service was slow, even though on an early Friday evening, it was not super busy. The food and drinks were mediocre, not worth the price. The patio was nice, but once the live music came on, it was too loud to have a conversation with the person next to me. Good atmosphere, but I would not return due to value of food and drinks, and unimpressive service.
A lovely place to watch the excitement at the central hub of the Shops of Don Mills. The food is quite good and the atmosphere is casual, yet the design of the place, which has innovative touches, also makes it a good place for a business meeting. The patio is very popular in the warmer months; so, the cushions should either be replaced or cleaned better. As well, the tables are higher in relation to the seating than most places (take this into consider if you are shorter than average). The staff aim to please; however, they seem a bit too stressed for this enjoyable location.
Our first visit. Sat outside on patio. Service was great and the pizza I had was very good. If we could not have been on the patio I feel the noise (music) inside would have been too loud.
Food was good and healthy! The service was very attentive.
The trout was very flavourful. I was quite impressed.
Poor service. Very loud restaurant and below quality food.
I found the food to be quite bland and required more flavour. I know they're thing is all about health, but I needed to add salt and cheese to boost up the taste in my zucchini spaghetti with sauce.
Not Great. We were seated for over 1/2 an hour before any wait staff came to offer a drink. Our waitress seamed less than thrilled to be doing her job. My friend and I ordered the Asian noodle bowl. Mine was dry and sticky and hers was sopping with sauce. My husband had the Lamb meatball pasta. The meatball was dry and tasteless and the pasta had little to no sauce. The other diner ordered a Cobb salad. The wrong salad came at first and to be replaced with the right one. The table asked for hot sauce, repeatedly. I would not go back here...despite the lovely patio and convenient location.
Ordered surf and turf dinner, and the steak was the worst I ever had at a restaurant - it was so tough! I will not return to this restaurant.
Family dinner out. Attentive staff although slight confusion about the order which got resolved. Well cooked food and large portions ( which can be good or bad). A tad noisy for my liking but I would go back.
I found service to be slow. They offered us bread after our meal (before dessert). Not expected from this caliber restaurant. As well ran out of mini cheesecakes for our bday girl but they did not offer anything else for the birthday.
Enjoy dining at Glow every time.
Good space between the tables so able to carry our conversation comfortably, not minding the next table.
One wish for me is that less sweetness in the salad dressing, too sweet.
This time a poor experience. The main course wasn’t hot. The waitress didn’t check with us for longtime. It was a birthday they didn’t bring a candle with the desert.
