Globe @ YVR - Fairmont Vancouver Airport Ratings and Reviews
Fabulous meal from start to finish! I had to meet a girlfriend who was stuck in transit at YVR for 12 hours so we supped at the Globe@YVR as it's the only fine dining restaurant at the Vancouver International Airport. And it's definately a five star dining experience ...from the atmosphere, to the friendly and attentive staff, to the exquisite gourmet meals. Priced right for quality ingredients that are expertly prepared and divinely presented. This was my first time at the Globe but I would definately go back, because it was that fabulous! We shared the crab cakes appetizer and the wait staff was kind enough to bring two plates. My friend had the Halibut and I had the duck and both entrees were spectacularly yummy. We also split the candied cranberries in a cheesecake tart with some home made ice cream made by an expert pastry chef whose pate sable was perfection. Already wishing I could go back for another meal!
my family and I enjoyed our dinner very much..nice location..good service..but...kitchen takes too long...the one and only serious beef I have is the outrageous charge for Valet service (38 bucks)I was shocked...you must look into this because it hurts your restaurant and Fairmont...good luck amigos....G.C.
We went for Father's Day brunch. It wasn't super busy. No one really greeted us or said happy Father's Day the whole time. We usually go to Pacific Rim for the brunch buffet but they no longer have the buffet after Oru closed down so we thought we would try this location. Service was slow and not very attentive.
Our server Ben was knowledgable and professional, he took care at every detail. Ben is a real asset to your team.
As a personal note being asked to do serveys every time I have a meal, buy a shirt or use a service is tiring. Using guest feedback as a tool to measure a employees success in service is hugely inappropriate and mistake by many large companies. Generally I feel that if you need to do market research then hire a market researcher. It is not the job of the public to do it for you.
Once again Ben was lovely but this survey is not.
Overnighting at airport. Wanted decent meal at decent price in acceptable locale. A little short of expectations. Server was attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant. Pace of service good. Wine overpriced. Food overpriced for quality. Had mussels as appy- ok amount, sauce bland. Sable fish entree well done. Pork belly ok but small potion. Overall ok but overpriced.
My wife and I always start off at the wonderful fairmont vancouver airport before any vacation and the staff there always, I repeat, always make us feel relaxed and taken care of which is exactly how everyone should start there vacation off. Nothing beats the food at globe either.
We dined at this airport hotel dining room because we were hotel guests with an early morning flight scheduled. It was not as good as we have experienced at other Fairmont restaurants although my sablefish was excellent. It was a noisy atmosphere and that was due to loud adults and not the family groups with young children. Live music in the adjacent bar was pleasant and not too loud.
We thought we'd give this a try. We enjoyed a lovely waitress, but the ambience is poor, especially given the pricey food! The place is more like a cafeteria than an expensive restaurant. I suppose it's okay for being at YVR. Also, there's no courtesy parking. We had to pay $28 for valet parking, which is outrageously high. Won't be back!
We were here early for Afternoon tea, We were advised that Afternoon tea is normally only served after 2pm they were able to accomodate us after some resistance.
The staff was very pleasant and service was very good. Food was good but not a real wow
Scones are excellent and tea selection is quite good.
Afternoon tea is a nice experience but price wise it isjust a little excessive
It would be nice to be able select the various food choices and have more sandwiches. Not
everyone necessarily has a sweet tooth and might enjoy the savoury selections, either with
scones (to enjoy the cream cheese and jam), and also a few more sandwiches. Needed more
on the plate!
