Glenwood Grill Ratings and Reviews
We were a party of 4 on a busy Saturday night, so fortunate that we had reservations and were seated on time. Service was absolutely excellent and all of our entrees were delicious including the salmon, the crab cake and the shrimp & grits. I had the half Carpetbagger which included a perfectly prepared filet adorned by 3 delicately fried oysters and smashed potatoes. We all were delighted by the peach, strawberry, blueberry cobbler which was divine. The only miss was surprisingly the fried green tomatoes which were too thick and would have been better if the pimento cheese was fried also (a version like South City Kitchen Atlanta’s fried green tomato). The shrimp salad paired with the tomatoes deserves its own entry on the menu as an appetizer, it was amazing. Glenwood Grill is quite a gem in Raleigh~
The service (Rick) was excellent. (Chad behind the bar is ALWAYS a pro) The salmon is normally perfect but it was a little more dry than it should have been even though I specifically asked for it to be prepared the right way. But, they were very busy Saturday and I get it but I was disappointed. Thank God the person I was with loved the fried oysters!
The food was really just “decent”. The ambiance was nice and service was pretty good but the food wasn’t. The menu looked promising. And the waiter gave us his recommendations. The only thing I really enjoyed was the fried green tomatoes. But I won’t be going back.
The food was excellent, the custom cocktails were great, and the desserts were decadent. The services was top notch. The only downside is it was quite loud in the restaurant. But that is to be expected with most small restaurants. Highly recommend. Will definitely go to Glenwood Grill again.
We just keep coming back over and over again to this neighborhood gem. We have never had a bad or even so-so meal; they are always exceptional. Menu changes are appreciated. Nightly specials are always a plus. Service is consistently excellent. We just truly love this place. It remains one of our top dining choices in Raleigh -- and has been for more than a decade, even with an infusion of many new restaurants.
