Our fish dish was hot & fresh. Divine. Our parmesan oysters were delicious. Our seevice was impeccable.
Excellent in every way!
Wonderful food . Waiter also was great. Love this place
We love Juan! He’s very sweet and made it worth the wait. Our waiter was super friendly too and very efficient.
This is truly one of my favorites in Raleigh and based on the number of people that were there on Friday night I am not alone! The food as always, was excellent. It seemed a little louder than usual, but it may just have been the crowd that was there. We were seated at a corner table which was very nice. Always a good time there and the food is always spot on!
almost too noisy to talk. Fryer was broken but they made substitutions and food was delicious as usual. We were there at noon and the restaurant was packed ... reservations are a necessity at that time.
Best corn soup in the universe
It was very noisy in the restaurant for a Thursday night but the food was very good as usual. May reconsider next time though because of the noise level.
I was here for lunch and ordered the chicken salad plate with a side dish of creamed corn. I had a glass of Gruner Veltliner (a white wine from Austria) with my lunch. The chicken salad plate had fruit included-- mandarin orange slices, strawberries, grapes, and pineapple. There was enough that I took some with me in a box when I left the restaurant. The food was very good and service was on point. Around 12:30 PM the restaurant was almost full (maybe one or two tables not occupied) and by 1:00 PM a few tables had cleared. The noise level was high due to the number of diners. It's a good sign that the restaurant can fill up for lunch as well as dinner. I noticed that there were enough servers to keep things moving. This is a nice venue for either lunch or dinner.
Food was consistent - it was great!
On the other hand, the experience was not. Our server was “lukewarm”, in that he was accurate and knowledgeable but aloof & solemn. It felt very impersonal.
Dining room is pleasant enough however the ladies room was extremely dark! I literally had to turn the flashlight of my mobile phone on to feel as if I could see well enough to maneuver the space! They had 2 candles burning in the bathroom to augment the light fixture, which didn’t put off more than the amount of light from a nightlight. Time for an electrician.
Glad to see a few new menu items. Food and service was excellent as always.
Glenwood Grille continues to be our "go to" restaurant. It's consistently excellent: we know we will have a great meal and great service.
Glenwood Grill is a comfortable place--do not underestimate "comfort." Many restaurants do--unfortunately. When I need special comfort food, excellent food and service--we go to GG. Will be there again June 1 for our anniversary. Where else?
Mothers Day dining
Still my favorite "Go To" place. Some things will never change.
Great ambiance and service. Old fashioned was perfect. Snapper was delicious. Chocolate pecan pie was outstanding.
A little noisy, but it was graduation weekend. Overall, it was great. I always go there when in town. Great service, can always count on good food.
Loved the food. Service was great. A little loud with large group seated close to us but overall excellent experience.
Lunch was great along with the outdoor seating and the wine list
Always perfect!! As a Raleigh native this is still one of my favs!!
You absolutely can’t go wrong with the Glenwood Grill. Always consistent. I used Open Table to make the reservation. My wife and I have been eating there for 15 years. Take your out-of-town guests there !!!!
Perfectly cooked salmon and filet! Everything was delicious and attentive service.
We love this place. Martinis were excellent. She had the salmon special and I had the filet. Our meals were excellent. The service was friendly and professional. Always noisy, but not so it detracted from the overall ambience.
It was a relaxing atmosphere. Friendly service and the food was great! Perfect portions. Will definitely put this on my favorite restaurant list.
Food was excellent as was the service. Great night for outside dining!
Love that The Grill is offering Sunday Night Suppers now!!Great food and service!
Excellent- three of us got the great crab cakes - would have been super to have a spicy mustard sauce to spice them up a bit. Service was great, decaf cappuccino was also fabulous!
Glenwood Grill is a go to for us. Great cocktails, excellent wine selection, and a tremendous selection of appetizers, soups, entrees...not to mention desserts! The choices are always tough because everything we've ever eaten there has been terrific. Ignore the fact that it's in a strip mall and go!
My friends and I really enjoy dining at the Glenwood Grill because the staff are so personable and friendly and the menu is superb. The sleekly designed Glenwood Grill offers cuisine inspired by the coastal Carolinas & the American South. Chef John Wright supports regional food artisans & emphasizes the importance of sourcing products harvested locally. I also like the fact that they are delighted to let you share appetizers, salads, and entrees so you have room for their wonderful desserts! On this occasion, we shared the Roasted Beet and Marcona Almond Salad with apples, radish, arugula, honey truffle vinaigrette, and gorgonzolacheese and the daily special, succulent Rack of Lamb which was perfectly done and served over Parsnip Mashed Potatoes -yum!
Food and atmosphere excellent. Server was rushed and dismissive due to being very busy, but we would go back.
Glenwood Grille is notable cuisine for any occasion. My wife and I were traveling from Florida, and were thoroughly pleased with the service, management and especially the shrimp and grits. Being frequent travelers to New Orleans, we know quality Cajun cuisine, and this entire by far takes the lead.
We look forward to visiting again soon!
Love their fried oysters!!
Best in Raleigh
Lovely quiet table, as we’d requested, with an attentive waiter. We enjoyed the crab cake on fresh corn with small arugula side salad. The crab was most evident in the crab cake with little filler and very tasty seasoning which allowed the crab to shine through. Arugula salad was a nice counterpoint to the entree. My friend, who had not been to The Glenwood Grill in many years, exclaimed she’d love to come back soon.
Always a good dinner out. Lots of southern-esque options like fried green tomatoes or she crab soup to start and shrimp/grits and fresh fish options for entrees. Smallish dining area so noise carries, but is not annoying just part of the background/ Service is attentive, though they seem to be always busy here - which relates to the food et al.
Made a reservation for a casual business lunch and was very pleasantly surprised. Nice little restaurant. Good food, interesting menu, nice decor and ambiance.
Excellent restaurant with topnotch food and service. Nice ambience but noisy. Has along history of being excellent.
My husband and I love the Glenwood Grill! We drive in to Raleigh from Wilmington every now and then to go to a concert or other event, and we always dine at the Glenwood Grill. You can tell that this restaurant takes great care with everything, as they have pretty fresh flowers at every table. When a restaurant takes care like that, you know the food is going to be great! I love the Carpetbagger, and my husband loves the filet mignon. The Carpetbagger is filet with parmesan fried oysters on the side - yum! It is so creative and so delicious! Their desserts, I'm sure, are wonderful, as I have only tried the incredibly delicious peach-blueberry-strawberry cobbler. Oh my goodness, it is so delicious! But their other desserts look great too! This is just a wonderful, classy restaurant to enjoy an oh-so-good meal!
Don't get there often enough - it never disappoints. Great selection of appetizers as well as entrees.
Great as always
Wonderful as always
