I took my Grandaughters, one soon to be 16, and one celebrating her 18th Birthday! Everything was wonderful🎂🎂
This restaurant is off our beaten path and we wanted to try it for dinner. The restaurant is obviously a very popular restaurant with lots of usuals. Our food was delicious. Our water was not friendly, the restaurant was extremely loud and we felt that most likely only usual customers are truly welcome. We will not go back.
I have lived in Raleigh for five years and just found the grill. An absolute gem that I will visit many times. Great selection and especially loved the low country selections
Went for our anniversary & hadn't been in about 15 years. I was favorably impressed. The location is in a strip mall, but the food, service, and ambiance was excellent. We will definitely be back soon.
Highly recommend! Small and friendly, everyone is wonderful from the minute you walk in the door until you leave. You receive the perfect amount of attention and the staff is extremely knowledgeable.
We were seated shortly after arriving, with a reservation. Service was very good, attentive and personable waiter. Drinks came right away. Food was delicious, especially enjoyed the fried oysters. Had cobbler and crepe brûlée for dessert. Would definitely go again. Great xperience
Took daughter and granddaughter for a celebration lunch. It was delightful. Burger and fries for granddaughter, crab cakes for daughter and vegetable plate for me. All delicious! Chocolate gelato and the berry cobbler for dessert. Not a bite left!
The food was excellent and the service was very good. We were there at 6:00pm and the only issue was the noise level in the dining area. Had to speak very loudly but I was in a party of 7 so may have been a little different 1 on 1.
Food was great. It was loud in the restaurant due to being very crowded.
We've been to this restaurant before and found it good. However, this visit was anything but. A real let down since we were entertaining guests. We were celebrating several events which I mentioned in our reservation request. There was no acknowledgement of it. Maybe that's their policy?? But the main issue was the food. An order of chicken was the smallest chicken part ever seen (the size of your hand palm). They actually charge for this as an entre? Another order of french fries was way overcooked, almost burnt. The portions were entirely too small, but I'm guessing they want you to order the sides, which were priced separately. Since we all had an appetizer, we chose to pass on this. The desserts were very good. Dessert is something we never order, as our dinners are quite filling. Not in this case. A very disappointing evening to say the least.
We had the Pork Tenderloin special, served with collards and chipotle grits - amazing!
Wonderful meal...a menu that would meet any need...superior service
Beautiful place to dine. The waiter was not attentive at all. I asked for a to go box and he never brought the box or my food back.
Food was great!
If I decide to go back it will only be for the food definitely not the service.
While the service was good, the salmon I had wasn't great. Wine list was good
Food was exceptional, as always. We were slightly ahead of the dinner peak. Service was good - gaps as they got busier. Waiter was very personable, knowledgeable about the menu & specials. We will definitely be back.
For a memorable meal, with fresh local ingredients prepared in a captivating way, Glenwood Grille is the place to go. The servers are well-informed and attentive. The experience is top-notch. If you want to enjoy an informal but special meal, dine here. If you want to impress, this is also your spot.
Certainly one of the best Raleigh restaurants. Drawbacks are the noise level and tables crowded together.
Great food and service
First visit but will not be our last. Food, service and ambience all excellent. Worth seeking out.
Outstanding as usual🥇🍸
Our fish dish was hot & fresh. Divine. Our parmesan oysters were delicious. Our seevice was impeccable.
Excellent in every way!
Wonderful food . Waiter also was great. Love this place
We love Juan! He’s very sweet and made it worth the wait. Our waiter was super friendly too and very efficient.
This is truly one of my favorites in Raleigh and based on the number of people that were there on Friday night I am not alone! The food as always, was excellent. It seemed a little louder than usual, but it may just have been the crowd that was there. We were seated at a corner table which was very nice. Always a good time there and the food is always spot on!
almost too noisy to talk. Fryer was broken but they made substitutions and food was delicious as usual. We were there at noon and the restaurant was packed ... reservations are a necessity at that time.
Best corn soup in the universe
It was very noisy in the restaurant for a Thursday night but the food was very good as usual. May reconsider next time though because of the noise level.
I was here for lunch and ordered the chicken salad plate with a side dish of creamed corn. I had a glass of Gruner Veltliner (a white wine from Austria) with my lunch. The chicken salad plate had fruit included-- mandarin orange slices, strawberries, grapes, and pineapple. There was enough that I took some with me in a box when I left the restaurant. The food was very good and service was on point. Around 12:30 PM the restaurant was almost full (maybe one or two tables not occupied) and by 1:00 PM a few tables had cleared. The noise level was high due to the number of diners. It's a good sign that the restaurant can fill up for lunch as well as dinner. I noticed that there were enough servers to keep things moving. This is a nice venue for either lunch or dinner.
Food was consistent - it was great!
On the other hand, the experience was not. Our server was “lukewarm”, in that he was accurate and knowledgeable but aloof & solemn. It felt very impersonal.
Dining room is pleasant enough however the ladies room was extremely dark! I literally had to turn the flashlight of my mobile phone on to feel as if I could see well enough to maneuver the space! They had 2 candles burning in the bathroom to augment the light fixture, which didn’t put off more than the amount of light from a nightlight. Time for an electrician.
Glad to see a few new menu items. Food and service was excellent as always.
Glenwood Grille continues to be our "go to" restaurant. It's consistently excellent: we know we will have a great meal and great service.
Glenwood Grill is a comfortable place--do not underestimate "comfort." Many restaurants do--unfortunately. When I need special comfort food, excellent food and service--we go to GG. Will be there again June 1 for our anniversary. Where else?
Mothers Day dining
Still my favorite "Go To" place. Some things will never change.
Great ambiance and service. Old fashioned was perfect. Snapper was delicious. Chocolate pecan pie was outstanding.
A little noisy, but it was graduation weekend. Overall, it was great. I always go there when in town. Great service, can always count on good food.
Loved the food. Service was great. A little loud with large group seated close to us but overall excellent experience.
Lunch was great along with the outdoor seating and the wine list
Always perfect!! As a Raleigh native this is still one of my favs!!
You absolutely can’t go wrong with the Glenwood Grill. Always consistent. I used Open Table to make the reservation. My wife and I have been eating there for 15 years. Take your out-of-town guests there !!!!
