Good food great service
We were meeting friends for a Saturday night dinner date. We were all first timers to the restaurant so the waitress was all too happy to guide us through the delicious menu. Her suggestions and knowledge of the menu and portion sizes was impeccable. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food. The entrees were mainly seafood but there were also non-seafood dishes. The desserts were great too..highly recommend the berry/peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream !
The food was very good? This was our second visit so we were interested in consistency. They did not disappoint.
The occasion was my mother in laws 93rd birthday. I noted the occasion on the reservation but it was not acknowledged at the restaurant.
We still had a wonderful time.
Glenwood Grill is on our regular rotation for weekend dining. Grab reservations early, as they are always busy. Consistently excellent food, good wine selection, great dessert--especially the cobbler! The only complaint I have is that there are too many good dishes, so I have difficulty deciding what to order.
We dine at the Glenwood Grill with friends three or four times a year and are never disappointed in the dining itself: fresh, delicious "new south" food, and a good wine/beer list. The venue is noisy, so conversation can be difficult--we found that a window table helps--and they seem to overbook a little, so that even with a reservation we have often waited 10-15 minutes. But unless you seek a truly quiet, intimate dinner, this is an excellent place, and we will continue to return regularly.
Great service, wonderful food, it’s that simple. You can’t go wrong eating here!
Always excellent. We tried it for Friday lunch this time. Food and service were the usual...wonderful. While we missed having a steak for the meal, we found a couple of other beef entrees that we loved. I had the Salisbury Steak special and it was well cooked, tasty with herbs and spices, with a light gravy loaded with mushrooms and onions. My husband had the burger, and they were able to modify it to fit his lactose intolerance. He reported it quite tasty, also. We had a very nice Robert Mondavi Cabernet. Desserts were great, too.
The food is always excellent. The service is also excellent. My only complaint is the noise level.
Another good visit. Last minute decision to come and a good one. Food as usual was up to their high standard. Polite service and not overbearing. Place was vibrant even at 7:00pm on a Thursday.
Service and waiter were excellent. Food was absolutely delicious! Keep it up Glenwood Grill!
My wife and I read good reviews and wanted to try a restaurant with a moderate variety of southern dishes. We visited March 13th for a birthday celebration. As this was our first visit, our server John made sure we had a good overview of what was on the menu. We had the she crab soup, NC flounder and Angus beef short ribs. For dessert, we split the blueberry, peach and strawberry cobbler. Everything was delicious and we will be sure to visit again.
Always a great place. The only downside is that it gets really noisy if the restaurant is full. In big groups, you can’t hear anyone that is not right next to you. The staff is very friendly and service is wonderful.
My date had the fish special and said it was excellent. I had the carpetbagger and that was excellent as well. We split the cobbler, our favorite dessert. Martinis were excellent. Service professional and attentive. We love to eat at Glenwood Grll.
Much better restaurants in the area. Food was ok, not bad but not great, and was served lukewarm. Our server was not the friendliest. Creme brûlée was very disappointing overall I would just say it's ok.
As a first time visitor I was pleasantly surprised by the size and lovely decor of the restaurant. I found the menu to be quite extensive and once served, the food was excellent. The waitwas staff competent and attentive.
The only suggestion I would make is to offer several by the glass wine selections in the medium price range. I am sure the by the bottle inventory has that price break for larger parties but for the occasional wine drinker the only by the glass offerings, though of good quality , was limiting.
All in all though, a great evening out.
Eaten here many times, always top notch food and service.
We love Glenwood Grill!!! The food is always delicious and the desserts are to die for.
Very loud even on a Thursday night. There were six of us and I was the only one that really enjoyed my meal. I had the red snapper...very flavorful and just the right amount of food. My husband had the braised beef ribs and he didn't like that at all. One of our group ordered the duck medium well and it was so well done she had a hard time cutting it. Two in our party ordered the blackened mahi and both thought it was just ok. The salmon was acceptable to the sixth member of our party. Everyone agreed that the cost of the meal was not in keeping with the quality. Nonidy in our group was overwhelmed and mist thought they probably wouldn't return.
This is my go-to restaurant. To say I am a frequent diner is a understatement , with friends, with family members. Lunches and dinners are reliably delicious! Service is excellent and special requests are honored with ease. Without question my favorite restaurant.
Adds pleasure to my life.
Food was outstanding. Will go back for this reason. Service was very knowledgeable but a bit aloof. Meal was delivered in amazingly short time. Very noisy; this is what we remembered about it the most from our last visit. Would not come with a crowd because of the noise; would not be able to hear.
Great food, service and ambiance. Never disappoints! Had a fun outing with a group of friends.
Overall experience was fun and energetic with a touch of romantic scenery. The food and drinks needs some more variety. Personally the fried oyesters were not as tasty as I expected, too much breading with no fulfilling taste. But the scallops were delicious.
I had never been here before. I was pleasantly surprised. Overall, my friends recommended and said it was good, but it was excellent. I loved it. Food was very fresh with lots of flavor. Definitely going to go back !
This is a cozy neighborhood restaurant that seems to be quite popular. The dining room is rather small, but the decor is colorful and modern. There is a nice variety of entrees at moderate prices. Service is efficient and the food comes from the kitchen hot and nicely prepared. We enjoyed our dinner and will plan to return.
The food was absolutely amazing!
We went there for lunch and had a hamburger. In short, it was outstanding!!!
Food and service are consistently excellent. Would recommend highly.
Great NC food choices and reasonable prices - good fried green tomatoes and she crab soup to start and grouper special for entrée finished with a cobbler for dessert. Add a nice bottle of sauvignon blanc and friendly wait staff and call it an evening well spent.
Lovely experience....the food was delicious, the ambience was very pleasant and each staff member was welcoming and kind.
Did not like the crab bisque. Everything else good
The food was marvelous!
My wife and I love the She Crab Soup and Crab Cakes here. They were outstanding.
We had a fabulous time. Atmosphere was modern and relaxed. Waiter was responsive and pleasant. So many great choices on the menu. We will be back!
The restaurant was amazing and exceeded my expectatiins with the quality of the food. Extremely delicious and very polite wait staff. My only complaint was the size of the restaurant itself.
Great service, great food, great atmosphere, reasonable prices.
Crab cake was cold. Bread was good. A little too loud and not a fan of European seating. Dining partner was not impressed with shrimp/grits. Service was good and waitress was friendly without being intrusive.
Always delicious and fresh. Love the combo of flavors and interesting new items on the menu. A Southern treat!
