Great as always
My wife and I have been regulars at Glenwood Grille for 20+ years. It's always a great choice. Their dinners are top notch; it's also a fine lunch choice. Get a reservation, because they fill up fast. This restaurant is very popular with the locals. It doesn't advertise and doesn't need to.
I bring business colleagues here whenever I can. The out-of-towners are always impressed by what a nice place it is.
Glenwood Grille's greatest asset is its consistency. Food is always tasty; kitchen is efficient; wait staff could not be more accommodating. Let me note that their wait staff tends to stay here -- little turn over. That's the sign of a well-run restaurant.
Great food, wine and service. Will definitely be back
Food and service was great - but way too loud. Had to lean in and almost yell to hear each other - not recommended for company and conversation - but great service and food!!
As usual the food and service were top notch. Our favorite restaurant.
Excellent food and attentive service. My second visit to Glenwood and I will be back.
Spur of the moment decision to have an early dinner at 6:00pm. Been many times but this turned out really well . The filet steak was cooked perfectly and the pork chops special was fab. Portion size perfect.
GG is always on point and delivers quality for the money.
This is my favorite "go to" place for dinner. Great food, bartender and service!
A special little gem with good food, nice bar that was prepared to make a very good mojito and wonderful service. Will definitely be back.
Great service always! Consistently high quality food! Chad is the best bartender in town!
Great neighborhood grill , good food , good service!
So disappointed. A large party of 12 was seated next to our little two top. It was awful. The waiter's rear end was 12 inches from my face every time he had to come in to yell at the table. (It was that loud.) We were ignored as he tried to manage the large top. I somehow get that, having been a waiter years ago. But then we are waiting to have our dessert order taken and he is chaining up the tables on the front patio? What a disaster. I will never go back.
We had friends visiting from out of town and noticed Glenwood Grill was open on Sunday night. We were surprised to see a few empty tables as word has not gotten out yet. Same great food and excellent service.
All of their food was prepared perfectly, just exquisitely, even though the restaurant was very busy. The chef deserves major kudos. As just one example, I don't usually like crème brulee because of the typical burnt taste that left me feeling that it was just a good flan ruined. But their crème brulee was lightly flamed such that they caramelized the top without invoking the burnt flavor. The duck with a balsamic fig reduction and their vegetables were also done just perfectly.
I love their casual but elegant ambiance. I think that Glenwood Grill is underrated and will definitely return more frequently.
Awesome food and service. A bit noisy, but not bothersome.
Great food and service. This restaurant is always a very good place to dine. Consistent excellence.
Great for a meeting lunch as noise is at a minimum. Food while tasty and well seasoned is not the most interesting. Service was friendly and efficient.
This is the best restaurant in Raleigh, NC!
We enjoyed our time.
Anniversary dinner for the wife and me recently . Good service from Tina, nice meal as always with the salmon and a carpetbagger with a beet salad. Just too loud for any meaningful conversation, unfortunately.
We were made to feel very welcome the whole time we had dinner. The Service was excellent. I had salmon, hubby had sheepshead, both were fab. Highly recommend.
Excellent food and awesome service!!
I would highly recommend the Glenwood Grill.
Excellent! Love this place. Food is terrific and old school atmosphere is a rarity.
This was the third time my book club decided to go to Glenwood Grill for our monthly dinner - we haven't been anywhere else more than twice. Wait staff is always very helpful and pleasant. Food is delicious. I am a wus when it comes to spicy food. I ordered the braised short ribs with a sriracha sauce (wasn't paying attention). Found the dish to be beautiful and flavorful and not too spicy. Wine list is good. Found a white from Oregon that none of us had before - after the offered sample we all enjoyed a bottle.
The noise level was really good - quiet enough for us to hear each other but noisy enough so that we didn't feel awkward with our frequent outbursts of laughter.
Parking is great.
More than likely we will go a 4th time sometime in the next year.
Recently celebrated my Mother's birthday there. Steak was amazing, so tender and flavorful and cooked perfectly. The service was great our waiter was personable but did not hover. Coffee was hot and good and martini was perfect! I will definitely be dining there again!
Good food but always loud. You know what you get. Need to stay open later on fridays and Saturday’s.
This place is top drawer in my opinion...always the best. I have now tried EVERYTHING on the menu, and there’s no way to go wrong!! Service is impeccable and friendly, not pretentious, and whether you’re looking to eat or to dine, this is the place. And to top it off, the prices are reasonable...you really do get your money’s worth.
Great as usual! My favorite restaurant.
See my previous reviews.
The food and service at Glenwood Grill is exceptional and a sure bet every time.
Good food great service
We were meeting friends for a Saturday night dinner date. We were all first timers to the restaurant so the waitress was all too happy to guide us through the delicious menu. Her suggestions and knowledge of the menu and portion sizes was impeccable. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food. The entrees were mainly seafood but there were also non-seafood dishes. The desserts were great too..highly recommend the berry/peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream !
The food was very good? This was our second visit so we were interested in consistency. They did not disappoint.
This was our first dining experience.
The atmosphere was very pleasing and service was quite good. The Waite staff kept checking to make sure everything was okay.
The food was very attractive and tasty.
We will definitely return!
The occasion was my mother in laws 93rd birthday. I noted the occasion on the reservation but it was not acknowledged at the restaurant.
We still had a wonderful time.
Glenwood Grill is on our regular rotation for weekend dining. Grab reservations early, as they are always busy. Consistently excellent food, good wine selection, great dessert--especially the cobbler! The only complaint I have is that there are too many good dishes, so I have difficulty deciding what to order.
We dine at the Glenwood Grill with friends three or four times a year and are never disappointed in the dining itself: fresh, delicious "new south" food, and a good wine/beer list. The venue is noisy, so conversation can be difficult--we found that a window table helps--and they seem to overbook a little, so that even with a reservation we have often waited 10-15 minutes. But unless you seek a truly quiet, intimate dinner, this is an excellent place, and we will continue to return regularly.
Great service, wonderful food, it’s that simple. You can’t go wrong eating here!
