Glenwood Grill Ratings and Reviews
This was our first time visiting Glenwood Grill and we loved it. The food and service was amazing. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly. Tina our waitress was outstanding and we will be asking for her when we return. We are already planning on returning soon. I highly recommend the Glenwood Grill.
Awesome food and service. One of gem in Raleigh. We wanted to chat but seemed to be rushed. Our reservation was at 5, so we understood wanting people to leave... but we hadn’t gotten together for so long. We also understand getting others in to the restaurant, but for an establishment and cost please expect people to enjoy their food and company for at least an hour. Other than that, wonderful food and service.
Great food with uneven service in an extremely loud dining room. Our party had two appetizers - pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes. Both were excellent. Entrees were also very good - salmon, carpet bagger and pork. Our server was very slow to greet us and we had been there 25 minutes before we could place a drink/appetizer order. Once we ordered, things got better and he seemed more attentive for the most part. The dining room was small and very loud.
Early dinner with a 6 PM reservation. Restaurant was 2/3 full. As usual, food was very good (scallops, fried oysters, short ribs, she crab soup) and server was attentive. Noise level was high, even with the restaurant not full. Acoustics are not great as I could clearly hear all conversation from tables around me.
She crap soup and gumbo are excellent. Per my personal experience of eating gumbo, the gumbo was the best one I ever ate. Not too spicy and food was awesome. I highly recommend anyone who loves seafood especially she crap soup and gumbo! By the way, we ate there at noon. Reservation is highly recommended!
We live about 40 minutes away and were meeting out of state friends we hadn’t seen in a while for dinner. Chose Glenwood Grill based on reviews & menu. Everything about our experience was exceptional. The decor and ambiance was warm & inviting (with a non-intrusive noise level), the food was delicious (no one left a bite on their plate!) and service outstanding. Will definitely return and recommend. 👍
Glenwood Grill is a business lunch favorite, so definitely make a reservation. The atmosphere is lively and warm. The lunch menu is certainly more limited than their dinner selections, but everything is prepared exceptionally. My wife and I had a Scottish salmon salad and shrimp and grits for under $35.
Waiter we had was not personable at all and seemed offended by everything we said. Quite rude and not welcoming. Entire place was empty and they sat a 4 person group next to us that was so loud we had to ask to be moved. When asked to be moved, wait staff and owner didn't seem pleased and made it very difficult. Very disappointed as I am a regular but wasn't treated well at all.
My wife and I have been customers since Glenwood Grill opened. In all that time we have never had less than a great meal. There's a reason you need to book your reservation early!
Last Saturday we celebrated my birthday and, as expected, everything was first rate. Food -- both the rack of lamb (for me) and salmon (my wife) excellent. Service -- attentive, friendly, knowledgeable. Bar -- they have a broad selection and the knowledge to put together an excellent cocktail. We had a nice table by the window. Sustained excellence over time!
Our office team attends often for birthday lunches because Glenwood Grill is a treat. Service is excellent. David took care of our large party on Wednesday with ease. Food is fantastic and new items are added all the time. I recommend Glenwood Grill all the time to my friends. A hidden gem.
