Glen Prairie Ratings and Reviews
Great gluten free options. I would skip the ahi tuna appetizer as mine was very chewy. Our server was very friendly but much too chatty with customers. Although we appreciated her pleasant personality, we wish she would not have stayed to chat about random topics with us.
This is one of our local favorites! Always fresh and delicious - I love that they use locally sourced products. We were here this time for Mother's Day Brunch - and it's the best brunch I've ever had! The prices may seem high, but totally worth every penny.
This was a very disappointing visit. We have been to Glen Prairie for dinner on several occasions. However, this was our first visit for lunch. Lunch should never take 1 hour and 20 minutes unless the attendees are dragging things out. We weren't. However, our server and the kitchen were obviously in not hurry, and were totally unapologetic about it. I mostly fault the server, although the kitchen obviously contributed to some degree - how much, I'm not sure because our grilled chicken sandwiches had obviously been sitting for a while.
Although everyone enjoyed the food, the service was slow. Small things like refilling water glasses, asking about bring more bread, coffee refills were lacking. We asked about more decaf coffee and received enough for a cup for one patron and a dribble for another. Completed signed checks were left for over 30 minutes.
Great service and drinks. Food took a bit of a dive since the last time we were there. While my daughter's chicken pasta special was to die for, my short rib was incredibly dry and my wife's pike was good but nothing to write home about. Apps were good (artichoke dip delicious, tuna ok) and the wine selection is very nice and not over priced with most wines available by the glass. As noted, great service.
I'm sorry to say but we had heard really good things about this place and there was nothing good at all. We waited about 10 minutes at our table before anyone greeted us, and it was not busy. Our wine glasses had lipstick on them, the food was mediocre at best. They said it was 'farm to table' but when I asked our server what that meant specific to the menu she couldn't answer. Dirty dishes sat on our table for at least 20 minutes...I could go on but why. Big disappointment.
This was our first time to Glen Prairie, the service was outstanding Robert was amazing, the food was delicious and your Chef was very accommodating to make carrot puree for our baby (since he didn't like the food I brought for him). We will definitely be back!
Had breakfast here with friends prior to a day of shopping . Very cozy but still roomy, really fantastic food, coffee and Mimosas! All the different types of Eggs Benedict looked so good; some of us had the Arugula Bacon version which was outstanding!
Attentive service and very friendly waiter, Oscar.
I will be back for dinner!
We dined at Glen Prairie prior to seeing a show at The Mac, and it was a wonderful experience! I've been before, but had forgotten how much I enjoyed it.
Great food, great wine selection, great service and warm ambience. We told our server we were on a schedule & she was very attentive, without making us feel rushed.
We ordered a few things to share and everything was delicious! The mac & cheese is a must! Don't be thrown off by the fact that the restaurant is in a hotel. It has a very sophisticated vibe and a very warm, cozy atmosphere!
Very cool looking place,
Food was decent; too bad the service ruined it. Our waitress hardly came back to us after the food was served . We had to go to the bar to get a glass of milk for our daughter. We were celebrating my husband's birthday but by the time she came back to ask about dessert we decided to get something elsewhere.
Have been here several times with good experiences. However, last time left much to be desired. We were there for a bday dinner and have to say it was a pretty poor level of service we received. Our waiter got the entrée order wrong (for the person whose bday it was!) didn't offer to make any suggestions such as comping him an extra glass of wine or free dessert or whatnot. About 10 minutes later they brought out his steak, which was beyond rare - it was barely cooked and a very poor cut of meat. Mostly gristle. The potatoes and vegetables were fine, but to pay that kind of money for gristle and vegetables is ridiculous. We were not checked on much at all, the water service didn't come around again until we were just about done with the meal. Sad to say it was a big let down of an evening we'd looked forward to.
This was our second time dining at Glen Prairie. Once again, this restaurant met and surpassed our expectations. Food, ambience and service were outstanding. Todd, out server, was very personable, knowledgeable and described the menu in great detail. The menu is quite varied.
The restaurant appeared to be very clean. I would like to commend the restaurant....even the rest room was spotless and warm, too!
I love this restaurant.
I am gluten free due to food allergies. Every server we've had at this restaurant has asked the first time they visit the table if there are any food allergies. Most of their menu can be made gluten free ( also clearly marked on the menu) and they actually bring gf bread to the table with the regular bead.
This is my go to for every occasion restaurant.
We had a great meal at Glen Prairie this past Saturday night. It was a post-theater event and a bit later, so we had appetizers and salad. The food was carefully prepared, apportioned appropriately, and our service was excellent. The restaurant was busy and energetic, but it was a fun vibe. Great overall experience!
Amazing value for outstanding food! The blue cheese maple bacon flat bread was one of the best appetizers I've ever had. The meatloaf was the ultimate comfort food. The crusted pike was exquisite. The Mac & cheese was unbelievable, far beyond any Mac & cheese ever. The service was solid. The ambience was peaceful and serene. Then we got the bill and were shocked. We've paid twice that for dinners not half as good at highly rated restaurants. This is my new go to spot. Just sorry I've lived nearby for a few years and only now found it!
