We had a 7pm restaurant on a Wednesday. The place was 80% at that time and only 2 waitstaffs. We were greeted and seated promptly. Warm bread and butter were nice. Our waitress Edna has the brightest smile, told us the special/her favorite, and set expectation that they were a bit short handed. While the service and kitchen was a bit slow, Edna did check with us a few times. The onion soup and the mac and cheese were great - highly recommended. The salmon may not be the freshest as it were a bit fishy. The mustard sauce was used to kind mask the fishy taste. Overview it was a good experience. Edna friendliness definitely made up for the other downfalls. I will visit again for the farm fresh salad and mac and cheese.

This restaurant appears to be going through another “transition.” When this happens, service suffers every time. I will say that the food was still good.

Protein portions (skirt steak and salmon) are too small, especially for the price.

Honestly, the previous reviews were wonderful. We were disappointed, and were wondering if they were short staffed. The waitress was a nice as could be.......but SLOW, SLOW service. Food was ok, menu for breakfast average, nothing unusual or exciting. Very clean.

Best burgers in town. This place never disappoints and is our go to place for a nice dinner. Menu changes with the seasons. So there are usually new items to try.

The Brussel sprout salad was delicious.

Service is always very attentive.

Always a great meal, our recent visit was no exception. We had the pike, beautifully prepared, pork chop (a special item), short ribs and the pecan pork tenderloin. Portion size is great, the entrees were delicious and so are the sides. The sides are excellent, for example, the whipped sweet potatoes served with the pork tenderloin had a wonderful balsamic sauce drizzled over them.

The food was excellent. Nice seasonal selections and fresh ingredients. Full bar, Kids menu also available. It is attached to the hotel so easy to find. If it was downtown Glenn Ellyn it would always be crowded. We will be going back.

Food was very good and service was efficient, but they seemed a little understaffed, so after meal was served, had to find our server to pay the bill. Server was very knowledgeable and very friendly. A very comfortable restaurant, especially for being located in a hotel. Had been there before and was disappointed with the food, but this was tremendously better that a prior visit a year or so ago. Well done!

We had been her previously and loved every aspect. However, this time was a bit different. We have some gluten free folks in our family and the gluten free bread didn't arrive until an hour into our dinner. This night was low end service in a fairly high end restaurant - asked to pass glasses and food to other the server could reach. Slow, somewhat inattentive service. Not what we experienced in the past. We will give it another shot, but the service was not good. As for the food, the pork loin and short ribs were excellent as was the hummus and mixed green salad.

Great farm to table seasonal menu, very tasty. We really enjoyed the meal. I had the lamb skewers, pecan crusted pork tenderloin while my friends had the tasty mac-n-cheese and the steak. We wished we room for the dessert but we did enjoy drinks with our meal. I love the fact that we could linger afterwards not being rushed out to pay the bill. Take you for the relaxed atmosphere.

We went to Glen Prairie with my parents and teenage kids on Saturday for my birthday just to try someplace new. I had really high hopes after reading the reviews and it was just OK.
Started with the flat bread and asparagus caprese and a golden beet salad to share. The flat bread was the favorite appetizer. Very thin crust with mozzarella, fresh tomatoes and a balsamic and pesto drizzle.

The beet salad had about 5 small cubes of beet in it and a very thin smear of goat cheese on 2 crostinis. You couldn't taste the goat cheese. There were a lot of greens but I was disappointed with the lack of beet in the beet salad.

The waitress made a point to tell us how the mac and cheese was on Chicago's best. It hot, creamy and cheesy. Everybody agreed that the best part was the cracker crumbs on top.

I had the walleye. 2 cubes of pan fried walleye with mac and cheese and string beans. The thick cube of walleye was rubbery so I'm not sure if it was over or undercooked, String beans were very crunchy and underseasoned.

My Dad and daughter had the meatloaf which was by far the favorite entrée on the table. Two slices with a tomato sauce over mashed potatoes topped with onion strings. Both raved about the meatloaf.

My husband had the skirt steak and he said he could get a better cut of meat at the local Mexican place we go to. Mom had chicken francaise which our waitress said is her 2nd favorite entrée on the menu. Mom said it was good and left it at that. Teenage son had a burger and said it was a burger. Nothing great about it

I think if we needed to gluten free the place would have made a better impression because almost every entrée could be prepared GF. Otherwise, nothing was terrible, nothing was fantastic.

This place has very good food but the service is not the best and kitchen and service can be slow. It should not take an hour on a Sunday to get a simple brunch when there are only 4 other average size tables. Service and speed hold this restaurant back from being great. A better wine list would help too.

This is my favorite restaurant in the suburbs, so it was no question where I'd take people for my birthday. Their food is always outstanding and their hand crafted cocktails can't be missed. The best sazerac outside NOLA. The wait staff is always delightful and helpful. What a gem!

Wait staff was weirdly passive, no one greeted me when I arrived, and they assumed we were not going to order until a fourth member of the party (who cancelled last minute) arrived, for about 30 minutes.otherwise food was good and quiet atmosphere, which is what we were looking for!

Why the heck was this place nearly EMPTY on a Friday night? I was a little put off by the fact that it's connected to an average looking hotel, but the restaurant is fantastic. It was quiet (mainly because there weren't many guests) and comfy. We were immediately asked if we had food allergies or dietary restrictions (which I had) and the waitress proceeded to explain to me which menu items would fit the bill and how many others could be "tweaked" to work as well. The Whole30 inspired pork entree was literally one of the best pork meals I've ever eaten. I was also very fond of some cherry tomatoes in my salad and the waitress brought me a whole bowl of them at no charge. We weren't drinking wine, but the wine list was quite extensive. We will definitely recommend this to our friends, especially those who appreciate "farm to table" fare at super reasonable prices.
