Glen Prairie’s menu is designed to emphasize seasonal ingredients to showcase a variety of American flavors. The restaurant team shops local farmers' markets several times a week to source fresh ingredients.
Vegan option was very tasty. Service was great. Bar area was loud for a while but got better.
I had a lovely evening dining at Glen Prairie with my parents while they were in town visiting. We were seated a table in the corner of the restaurant and were given bread and water right away. We all enjoyed our cocktails, and the food was delicious. Skirt steak, beef medallions, and pork tenderloin were highlights of the table, as well as the mashed sweet potatoes ! Service was attentive and the waitstaff were very friendly. My family enjoyed the farm to table aspect of the restaurant a lot. My boyfriend and I have dined here twice before, once seated at the bar and once for a whiskey pairing dinner and both times had similarly great experiences. We will definitely be back!
Great GF menu, in the western suburbs. Rivals any gf menu I’ve been to anywhere!
We had reservations for 4 people for 5:45 on a Friday night. I arrived early (5:30) to a less than welcoming manager. Service was sloooooooow but friendly. Water glasses were not refilled until the very end of our meal. We had a delicious appetizer and salad. Then waited and waited and waited for the entrees. At 6:50 we let the server know we were trying to make a 7:30 show and asked where our meals were. The manager came out to let us know it would be another 10-15 minutes (!) for one of them. We opted to take the three that were ready. The only concession made by mgmt was to not charge us for the meal not eaten. Not impressive. When the bill arrived it had charges on it that belonged to another table. The entrees were delicious but were eaten in haste so not particularly enjoyable. I would try this place again with no plans for afterwards and am cautiously optimistic that mgmt might do a better job.
Loved finally getting here to try it out, such a lovely surprise. The atmoshphere is wonderful with some cozy corners and some family friendly areas. We loved the shrimp appetizer and also the salmon and filet entrees. Everything was excellent! Very friendly staff at all levels.
Excellent glute-free options - and lots of them! They use gluten-free batter for cheese curds and fish-in-chips and even have a separate pasta for gluten-free mac-n-cheese. Prices are reasonable and our waitress was very good (can’t remember her name)
One of our favorite places! Always consistent experience, and great food and service.
They do a fantastic job with gluten free options!
Daniel is very personable
Glen Prairie is always great. service is exceptional. they make a nice martini :)
We very much enjoyed our dining experience! It was our first time and we had fantastic service and one of the best meals we’ve had in a while. My husband had the short rib and I had the salmon. Wonderful!
We had a reservation and arrived at 5:15. The restaurant was not very busy. They brought us to a small corner table - way in the back of the restaurant. I asked if we could sit elsewhere as we did have a reservation and the restaurant was not busy. They said they had many reservations but they could move us 2 tables over - the same corner area but they said that was all they could do. About 15 minutes later, another couple was brought back to that table. They had a discussion with the hostess and then the hostess left and came back in about 2 minutes and moved them to the main area where I asked to sit. This really bothered me. They obviously are not treating everyone alike. After another few minutes, another couple was brought to that same table. I could tell they did not like it either but after discussion, they reluctantly sat down and stayed there. By this time, the restaurant was more busy.
One more thing - the waitress never asked us if we wanted another glass of wine, even though we had empty glasses just barely into the meal.
Food was good, but this experience and the staff left MUCH to be desired!!!
Have always wondered about this place and heard good things. So awesome almost the whole menu can be made gluten free and staff is very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend! Service was a little slow but overall great experience. I would definitely go back!
Great gluten free options. Nice to have fish and chips!
First time at Glen Prairie. Never heard of it until a customer of mine came in and just raved about it! She was right and the restaurant didn't disappoint. Great farm to table food and good drink. Will definitely be back!
Excellent food and lots of gluten free options
Interesting locally sourced menu. Had a group of 10 and was set-up in a dude dining which was great so we could visit. Might have been loud in regular dining room. Food was very good. Service was acceptable.
We have been to Glen Prairie several times in the past and were very excited about the special "corn" meal.
Expectations were not met -- generally, in every course, the dishes were under-seasoned and in some cases, just plain ordinary. The food was also not hot, which I understand is hard to do when feeding a group, but tepid is not acceptable in my book from professionals. The menu was well planned but failed to deliver in my opinion.
We have been to Glen Prairie numerous times, but this was the best meal we have had. It was a special Farm-to-Table dinner with a set menu. It was based around sweet corn. Corn fritters, elote, swordfish and fillet cooked to perfection (hard to do when cooking for a large group), and finished with a sweet corn souffle, which turned out to be like cornbread, but was delicious anyway. All for $50. What a bargain. They have done similar dinners before and we have gone to some. We will be sure not to miss any others
Extremely loud. Food was OK. Not terribly comfortable. We had an excellent waiter.
Good food great service friendly staff with great recommendations!
Excellent service and food. I have multiple food allergies. They are very accommodating.
The seasonal corn bruschetta was fantastic! Love that they locally source . We all loved our entrees which were mostly fish - trout, whitefish, etc. Everything was done to perfection! Don’t forget to have the Carmel/ chocolate dessert ala mode.
Will definitely return!
We arrived on time at three in the afternoon. There had been some kind of fire so the smell was very bad. We waited a few minutes but the police dept. was coming to the restaurant. The smell did not improve so we went to a different restaurant. We will try again some other time.
I am very impressed by the entire menu being available for Gluten Free diners. One of the people in our group was gluten free and she loved having such a big selection. Plus everything was tasty! We had the hummus appetizer with veggies and GF chips and they were delicious. The service was iffy. There were three of us taking one of our friends out for her birthday. We split the check in two, I put in cash and my friend a credit card. The server took all my cash, not offering any change, so my other friend just left less of a tip on her card. A bit strange. And, unfortunately, the restaurant had a noisy group in. Not much you can do about that. They did sit us as far away from the group as possible. We would certainly go back.
Brianna was awesome as always. She is our favorite server!
My daughter & I met there on Sunday at 11. She lives up North, I am South. We each drove 40 minutes for this establishment. We had an 11am reservation. The place looked very pretty upon walking in. We were definitely looking forward to our brunch & time together. A server (?) greeted me after a few minutes of waiting. The restaurant was only a quarter full. We sat down. No other contact was made. Nobody came to our table. No water. No menus. After 10 minutes I noticed there was a pile of menus on top of the bar so i took two gesturing to the male worker that we have menus now. The menus were lovely. Both of us chose what we were going to order but we sat for ANOTHER ten minutes & neither the male or female servers came by w a hello, a water, or to take our order.
We got up & walked out. Highly disappointed. We wanted to love it so much. The ambiance & menu were really nice.
Everything exceeded our expectations! Food and service were excellent.
The restaurant was amazing! Service was great. Staff was very friendly and the food was delish! I’ve already made plans to take friends.
Food was very good
Mary our server was excellent
Mice evening out.
Food was excellent- So many gluten free options!
We specifically drove over an hour to eat at this restaurant because we were told that they have a great gluten free menu and it was our celiac friend's birthday. We were seated immediately and the wait staff were very attentive. Drinks came quickly, as did the food, which was heavenly. Most items on the menu were also offered gluten free and our friend reported that the food was delicious! Wish it was closer, but we'll definitely be back!
We visit Glen Prairie regularly. The food is top notch and the service is exceptional.
This is our go to place for date night. Food is always perfect. Service is top notch. They handle allergies and other dietary restrictions gracefully and thoroughly. Bartender also served a perfect mocktail given minimal guidance given that I could not consume alcohol that evening.
Server was great and food never disappoints
Food was phenomenal! Loved all the gf options. Wonderful cocktails.too!
Well we tried this restaurant for the first time, checked all the boxes! Local food, well prepared and extremely tasty. Nice wine selection. Pleasantly surprised how good the food was. We will be going back. High 5 to the chefs.
