We decided to step up our game for our 25th wedding anniversary and go to Glen-Ella Springs for dinner. The staff was friendly and the food was outstanding. We are already making plans to take friends and family for dinner at a later date.
I had the lamb it was excellent. My wife ordered the chefs special and not realizing that salad was à la cart forgot to mention that so she did not get a salad, but that was partially our own fault the vegetables on our plate where a little too mature for our tasting
Casual elegance. The perfect place for a celebration or a quiet evening with friends and good food. We come back every chance we can! On this occasion, we celebrated our dear friend’s 91st birthday. A wonderful evening on the dining terrace overlooking the lovely gardens at Glen Ella; perfect from start to finish. Warm hosts, attentive and helpful servers. The best crab cakes anywhere! Thoughtful wine selections. And love the southern touches like pecan crusting on the expertly pan seared trout. John is doing a great job in the kitchen. Hosts Ed and Luci Kivett pay careful attention to every detail to make sure each guest has the Glen Ella experience they expect.
Great dinner and food waitress was new good service had to check on with kitchen entrees questions.
very disappointing. although my wife's beef was good, my lamb was undercooked badly. I asked for medium and this was rare. the sweetpotatoes in the middle of the plate overwhelmed everything there was barely enough room for another side dish. This place was recommended by many others, so I guess I had a case of bad luck. Never again
Out of the way gem! Food and service were excellent!
Wonderful atmosphere and the food was divine. My husband and I enjoyed our weekend getaway.
Food was adequate. Ambiance could use some help. Noise level was surprising high making it difficult to carry on a conversation. A bit of a disappointment.
We are local residents and have enjoyed Glenn-Ella on numerous occasions. The experience has always been fantastic and we have introduced friends to this hidden gem. All restaurants have off nights and Friday 3 August was definitely one for Glenn-Ella. The restaurant was not busy but the service was very slow and not attentive. The food was not up to their standard either. Too bad. A great place and we will return and hopefully they will be back to their high standards.
Beautiful evening where everything comes together: great company, location, atmosphere, clientele, food, service & weather!
Delicious food, attentive service, relaxed atmosphere.
Thank you all! Lovely evening and wonderful food and wine...and especially beautiful garden!
Fantastic!!! Best meal we’ve had in a very long time. Your chef is a very talented young man. Jasmine, our waitress, was excellent and very friendly. My parents ate at Glen-Ella and now I understand why they enjoyed it so much. Thank you for a very relaxing evening and delicious meal.
Great service, great food, and wonderful atmosphere.
A great place to meet with friends and enjoy a really good meal.
Quaint location and environment; recommend taking advantage of this special historical place when in Clayton area. Food was awesome! I would rate this a must try!
We had dinner and breakfast at the inn. Both were excellent.
We spent a most lovely, quiet Fourth of July here for dinner. As usual, food super and service excellent!
My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary at Glen-Ella. We had a delightful evening. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, the service impeccable, and the food so delicious. From the strawberry vinaigrette salad straight through to the home churned strawberry peach ice cream, the dinner was great. I would recommend to anyone Glen-Ella Springs. Don't save it just for special occasions. We will be back, 'just because it's Friday'.
Cozy little restaurant tucked in the mountains near Clarkesville. I had the Beef Tenderloin, and it was melt-in-your-mouth tender. Service was top-notch. Be warned: our navigator took us on an unpaved road that crossed a shallow stream. I suggest calling them for better directions. Restaurant is pricey, but totally worth the cost.
Our favorite place!! The food is always perfect and the desert incredible! So relaxing!
We have visited this restaurant several times and it has always been very good. The food, wines and service are excellent.
Fantastic food...lives up to its #1 rating...the French onion soup, crab cakes, lamb and trout were the best we have ever had...thank you!!
Had a great anniversary dinner. The Trout was awesome. Really, all courses / dishes were very well done. The only frustration was the service. It's not a large place (6 tables, 3 waitresses) and we were first to be seated and order. Took 2 1/2 hours which isn't an extremely long time but, four other tables that were seated immediately after us were finished a solid 30 to 40 minutes before us.
Amazing food and spectacular service!!!! Our server was very attentive to our needs without being bothersome!! A great way to spend our 15th wedding anniversary!!
Celebrating Father’s Day w/ family—a great dinner, perfect weather on the terrace...just a wonderful evening! The staff & owners always make you feel right at home.
Lovely, secluded spot. Fabulous food. Jazmine was an outstanding server.
The food and the wine were great, and the dining room is nice! There was a bit of a delay, but the staff was very accommodating.
Glen Ella never disappoints! We celebrated my MILs 85th birthday and the evening was enjoyed by all! Delicious food and excellent staff!
Another great visit to G-E for an end-of-school-year date night. The food was excellent as usual. The atmosphere was timeless and magical. As the last hour of late spring daylight gave way to nightfall, the air on the outdoor terrace naturally cooled down a few degrees. Tiny lights twinkled throughout the garden. The market salad, entrees and dessert set the pace for an peaceful, enjoyable evening. Thanks to all who make it so special each time!
Great setting, very good food. Service staff was great. If you are in the neighborhood worth the drive.
One negative - beer was not cold.
Glen-Ella Springs is a special, one-of-a-kind place and is owned and run by some of the kindest people on the planet. We don’t eat there nearly often enough, but everyone time we do we ask ourselves “why have we not come back sooner”! The food is fantastic and the setting is idyllic. It is a hidden gem in Northeast Georgia that everyone should experience at least once (but hopefully many times) in their lifetime.
Great menu selections. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious. Our favorite is the lamb. The staff is professional. Owners on site. Clean and Peaceful atmosphere.
Unusual setting and dining area. The presentation of the meal was top shelf with reasonable portions, reasonable selections, and extraordinary flavors.
The lamb is absolutely fabulous. There is a limited menu but it is all excellent. There is chicken, fish, beef and lamb as well as salads so something for everyone. The setting is relaxing and the history of the facility which was built in the 1800’s is fascinating.
We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary here as we always try to do as well as many other special occasions thru the year. Hospitality Plus reigns here! The food is consistently excellent. If you are looking for that 'special place' in your life to spend a joyful evening in the heart of a beautiful woods, this is it. You make memories at Glen Ella.
Have dined here several times over the years. Food was inventive and well presented. It is worth the drive.
Ate evening dinner here with my 13-year-old daughter. It was a treat. Loved the wood everywhere, walls and floor and a wood-beamed ceiling. The food was absolutely wonderful (we had the beef tenderloins and the lamb). Our server was obviously new - she seemed somewhat nervous and overlooked a couple of things, but she was very sweet and I didn't mind being some of her first customers. I would definitely want to eat here again if given the opportunity. (And I would love to try a table on the outdoor porch if the weather were accommodating.)
Great as always!Peanutbutter brownie ice cream was amazing.
My wife and I have eaten at GlennElla Springs a number of times over the past two decades. It's always been a good dining experience, but this last time was particularly outstanding. The "new" owners of the Inn (they've owned it for a decade now) have done a great job in revitalizing the Inn and ensuring that the dining experience rivals anything you would find in Atlanta. We had crab cakes that would make you think you were somewhere in Charleston. My tenderloin was perfectly prepared and cut like it was "butter." The risotto was creamy and perfectly crusted. The asparagus was tender and not the least bit bitter. The coffee and creme brulee made me think that I was sitting on the Champs-Elysees. It was an excellent meal.
My wife and I went to Glen-Ella for a get-away weekend and loved it. The restaurant was great. Wonderful service and ambiance. The selection was creative and tasty.
