Glen-Ella Springs Restaurant
Excellant dining experience. The rack of lamb was the best I've ever had. Atmosphere and service excellant.
New Years Eve
Lovely historic Inn, very quaint with comfortable dining room, nice wine list and excellent food. We make it a point to dine at Glen Ella whenever we are in town.
Our server, Ryan, was amazing. The holiday decorations were just lovely. The beef tenderloin was tender and flavorful. Will definitely go back to Glen Ella!
We’ve eaten at Glen-Ella Springs several times in past years. It is always a special place to dine.
We both had the fresh trout and loved this entree. The accompanying vegetables were equally delicious.
The rural setting in this beautiful inn is what makes this destination a standout. Exceptional service completes my stellar recommendation.
Absolutley fantastic... our server Ryan was perfect, she was knowledgeable, honest and sincere. The food was excellent, my wife had the chief special gnocchi and fresh muscles while I went for old favor beef tenderloin, I have to say both dishes were perfect and full of unique flavors. Would recommend anyone in the area make this a must visit for dinner at minimum and recommend staying at the lodge.
Very unique dishes! We stayed at the Inn and made a dinner reservation for one of the nights we were there. Everything was soooo delicious. The salads were delicious, the entrees were amazing! I had the scallops and my husband had the lamb chops. Both were amazing! Highly recommend!!
This restaurant exceeded my expectations ! There was not a single thing on the menu that I wouldn't order. Even the dinner special, which was scallops over rice with fresh green beans was awesome (that's what I ordered). I also ordered the lump crab crabcakes as an appetizer - very good !! Dessert was the Apple Bread Pudding with caramel sauce. My wife got the Pecan crusted trout - another great option. For 2 this ran us about $100 for drinks (wine), appetizer, dinner and dessert. Not cheap but great food and service and a great place to go for a special occasion. We also stayed at the Inn there - I recommend that as well !!
The food was awesome. The fire in the fireplace was great. Jasmine’s service was outstanding. Will definitely go back.
Sit back, relax and enjoy one of the best gourmet meals in Georgia - that is Glen Ella in a nutshell.
The restored Glen-Ella Inn made it a great place for history lovers to have a fantastic meal. We had the beef tenderloin ... which was perfect, and the risotto cake and white asparagus were very good. The best combination of great food with pleasantly quiet surroundings that I can remember. The staff was attentive and helpful. Don't miss it!
It was certainly not up to it it’s normal standard. We waited almost 40 minutes for our onion soup, then probably another 10 to 15 minutes for our Andre’s. Mass ramp was pretty good but my husband’s lamb chops or not. We have eaten at this restaurant several times in the past and was looking forward to celebrating My husband’s birthday with a special dinner. But I’m fortunately we were disappointed.
Our only problem was receiving the check in a timely manner.
We drove from Helen (we had a wine tasting the next day)....45 minute drive and totally worth it. We opted for the Brie, as we had salads for lunch, and it was yummy! We decided to split the shrimp and grits, as we didn’t want leftovers since we were staying at a hotel, and I have to say it’s probably the best shrimp and grits we have ever had, and we are experts. The inn and restaurant are adorable....we are already planning our next visit. ( we ate in the outdoor area, heaters were perfect....only suggestion is some light soft mood music would be nice). Thank you....it was wonderful!
Food was great. My husband had the ahrimp and grits which he said was very good. I had the macadamia encrusted chicken and it was delicious!
Glen Ella is a great experiene and the food is excellent. Small menu, but the choices are exquisite in taste, presentation, and filling. We visited in August of 2016 and Glen Ella was at the top of our list when we came back to the area this October in 2018.
Restaurant experience with outside dining was lovely. The food was excellent. Beef tenderloin superb. Service could have been improved, but it appeared there were only two waitstaff for outside dining. Suggest that waitstaff explain to diners that their selections are cooked on demand; this would lessen diners' concerns about the wait. Every effort was made for our comfort, especially lighting the lanterns to repell insects. Food quality comares favorably with other restaurants offering "farm to table."
Amazing as always! Excellent food, good atmosphere, never rushed.
Hard to believe that cuisine this consistently excellent is hidden in the hills near Clarkesville. Have never been disappointed here, but this time was truly superb. Filet, risotto, onion soup, crab cakes, cheese cake, trout, and snapper special were all cooked and presented perfectly. Complemented by quality wine and a friendly server! Great place for date nights, business, or special occasions, and the tranquil surroundings and historic structure add to the relaxed yet elegant vibe.
We love this place for special occasions. The food is always wonderful......atmosphere is on the quiet side with candlelight....very cozy. Wait staff is attentive and friendly. One of our favorites.
Glenn Ella is the perfect getaway dinner. The staff knew when to be around without you feeling like they were hovering. The meal was well made and honestly one of the best meals my fiance and I have had ever! Great staff with great food. Expect your dinner to take about 2.5 hours which we loved but may not be for everyone. 10/10 would eat here again.
We decided to step up our game for our 25th wedding anniversary and go to Glen-Ella Springs for dinner. The staff was friendly and the food was outstanding. We are already making plans to take friends and family for dinner at a later date.
I had the lamb it was excellent. My wife ordered the chefs special and not realizing that salad was à la cart forgot to mention that so she did not get a salad, but that was partially our own fault the vegetables on our plate where a little too mature for our tasting
Casual elegance. The perfect place for a celebration or a quiet evening with friends and good food. We come back every chance we can! On this occasion, we celebrated our dear friend’s 91st birthday. A wonderful evening on the dining terrace overlooking the lovely gardens at Glen Ella; perfect from start to finish. Warm hosts, attentive and helpful servers. The best crab cakes anywhere! Thoughtful wine selections. And love the southern touches like pecan crusting on the expertly pan seared trout. John is doing a great job in the kitchen. Hosts Ed and Luci Kivett pay careful attention to every detail to make sure each guest has the Glen Ella experience they expect.
Great dinner and food waitress was new good service had to check on with kitchen entrees questions.
very disappointing. although my wife's beef was good, my lamb was undercooked badly. I asked for medium and this was rare. the sweetpotatoes in the middle of the plate overwhelmed everything there was barely enough room for another side dish. This place was recommended by many others, so I guess I had a case of bad luck. Never again
Out of the way gem! Food and service were excellent!
Wonderful atmosphere and the food was divine. My husband and I enjoyed our weekend getaway.
Food was adequate. Ambiance could use some help. Noise level was surprising high making it difficult to carry on a conversation. A bit of a disappointment.
We are local residents and have enjoyed Glenn-Ella on numerous occasions. The experience has always been fantastic and we have introduced friends to this hidden gem. All restaurants have off nights and Friday 3 August was definitely one for Glenn-Ella. The restaurant was not busy but the service was very slow and not attentive. The food was not up to their standard either. Too bad. A great place and we will return and hopefully they will be back to their high standards.
Beautiful evening where everything comes together: great company, location, atmosphere, clientele, food, service & weather!
Delicious food, attentive service, relaxed atmosphere.
Thank you all! Lovely evening and wonderful food and wine...and especially beautiful garden!
Fantastic!!! Best meal we’ve had in a very long time. Your chef is a very talented young man. Jasmine, our waitress, was excellent and very friendly. My parents ate at Glen-Ella and now I understand why they enjoyed it so much. Thank you for a very relaxing evening and delicious meal.
Great service, great food, and wonderful atmosphere.
A great place to meet with friends and enjoy a really good meal.
Quaint location and environment; recommend taking advantage of this special historical place when in Clayton area. Food was awesome! I would rate this a must try!
We had dinner and breakfast at the inn. Both were excellent.
We spent a most lovely, quiet Fourth of July here for dinner. As usual, food super and service excellent!
My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary at Glen-Ella. We had a delightful evening. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, the service impeccable, and the food so delicious. From the strawberry vinaigrette salad straight through to the home churned strawberry peach ice cream, the dinner was great. I would recommend to anyone Glen-Ella Springs. Don't save it just for special occasions. We will be back, 'just because it's Friday'.
Cozy little restaurant tucked in the mountains near Clarkesville. I had the Beef Tenderloin, and it was melt-in-your-mouth tender. Service was top-notch. Be warned: our navigator took us on an unpaved road that crossed a shallow stream. I suggest calling them for better directions. Restaurant is pricey, but totally worth the cost.
