Glass – wine. bar. kitchen. at Ledges Hotel Ratings and Reviews
Great find in Hawley..although it takes some detective work to find it! We had a wonderful Anniversary dinner at Glass Wine Bar on Saturday and it was great! The table was cozy, yet allowed people watching at the wedding going on in the other room. Our waiter was fantastic, craft cocktails super and the tapas menu let us sample four or five different dishes. All were great!
the restaurant is a little difficult to find in the dark since it is located around the back of the building down a narrow winding path, but worth the search. We timed our dinner date with the guitarist who is a regular and he was very enjoyable to listen to and the music was a favorite attraction to our evening. The tapa dishes are portioned well ( not too skimpy ) and the food were presented in an appetizing fashion. The cheese board was especially fun and delicious. We also tried the wine flight which is a novel idea but decided that we would prefer to order a glass of wine in the future since the price was high for the volume of wine. Be sure to end your evening with the dessert as we were delighted with our two desserts - both seasonally prepared and very tasty.
As a returning customer, I was very much looking forward to taking my out of town guest for Friday's live music event. However, I was very disappointed with the service we experienced. I made a reservation (and had requested to sit by the music), and we had to wait an hour and a half for a table. The people at the table we were waiting for had signed their check, and were sitting at the empty table without being asked to kindly leave and move to the bar. Very disappointed with this poor service.
We've enjoyed the Glass several times in the past and were not disappointed this time! We took family with us this time, to whom we'd raved about the place. They were still amazed. The waitress was new to us, but her service was as great as we've enjoyed in the past. We like that there's always variety to the menu and local ingredients are used. We'll be back!
had a wonderful meal there this weekend. Was a very quiet Sunday night. Food was amazing. Bartender was super sweet. Chef's came out at the end of the night and talked to us. You can tell they are very passionate about their work - and it shows! Will definitely be going back.
Must order - mac and cheese (best I've ever had)
I made a reservation on a Monday for a Sat dinner. Requested a particular seat, as it was our first wedding anniversary & wanted something a little extra nice and romantic by the fire, as i explained when i booked. When we arrived, the Maitre'd passed us just standing there waiting 3 times before even acknowledging us. No, it was not that busy that he couldn't smile, welcome us and say something. Then stated he saw our request for a particular seat when i gave him our name, and was unable to fulfill it. Just in the way he said it was just rude, and honestly, we should have left at that point but for whatever reason we stuck it out. Why ask for special requests if you cant plan accordingly especially since i booked 5 days in advance.
Food service was very slow, for a small plate tapas style place, but our waitress (from Brooklyn) was outstanding! It is a very pretty place, but the food is nothing special. The Maitre'd is rather arrogant and not very nice, and its not our first encounter with him, or our first time there, but unfortunately it was our last.
You're in the hospitality business, so i did expect a lot more on several of levels.
I hardly write reviews, and my husband wanted to say something while we were there and i insisted he did not. Writing an honest review seemed the least combative of the two for me.
We've been here three or four times before and have raved about it to our friends. This time some of our friends were able to join us and they were not disappointed. (And these friends can be complainers!) We arrived just a couple minutes before our 6 p.m. reservation and were able to get the best table! There was something for everyone and we were all very pleased with our choices. The outside area was filled to capacity by the time we placed the orders for our main meal. So, there was a short period of time when we waited for our server's attention. Otherwise, the service was outstanding. The food was well prepared and as described. No complaints, great value, lovely ambience and good service! We'll be back!
Glass was an amazing place, with historic location and absolutely beautiful series of cascading waterfalls in a gorge setting. As it got dark, the torches were lit and the feel was of an exotic European castle. The food was unusual and creative, with many small plates. Try three or four things at least, as the portions and prices are designed for this. The brussel sprouts were amazing! The arugula salad with roasted squash and nuts was great. We loved every minute of our visit and would love to come back to stay at the attached boutique hotel so we can dine here again.
What a beautiful restaurant! The scenery and the falls were amazing, and the multi-level decks made the view from the patio just breathtaking. The food was very good and my server was friendly and attentive. Loud people at tables around me was the only drawback, but can't control that. It was worth the drive from Philadelphia!
Everything was great except they do not check there additional note section when making the reservation. I wanted a special item for my wife’s and my wedding anniversary and asked them to call me to make those arrangements. However I did not hear from them at all. I called the restaurant 1 hour before my reservation to see if they made any type of accommodations. The manager even said they don’t even look at that section. They use it just for reservations. That was disappointing but the meal was fantastic.
We DO like Glass- however this evening with friends did not meet expectations- our order was messed up and we never got half of the food we ordered.... server was not on the ball - seems like food runners bring out food and the server has no "ownership" over the dining experience. 2 of us were vegetarians and once agin there is NO willingness by the kitchen to make any accommodations - my guest was told to order a meat dish and they would omit the chicken - she was charged the same amount for the chicken dinner and only got the polenta and spinach?!?!
After coming here many times, SO EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED! Tourist holiday weekend EXTORTION! Pierogies passed off as "gourmet" which were obviously Mrs. T's, and even questioned the manager, who had no real argument. DEFINITELY not home made, we're from PA, we know the difference! Paid $64 for 4 Woodford manhattans, which is more than we pay even in Manhattan, itself. We were so looking forward to an end of season dinner at our favorite Pocono restaurant, but for naught. Don't think we'll be back.
We just had another great meal at Glass restaurant with our family! Dan was our waiter and makes dining out a most pleasurable experience. He is knowlegeble and attentive. He protected our family member with a severe nut allergy. We tried a good portion of the selections with our family of 7, and no one was disappointed with their selections.
We had a wonderful time. The BBQ buffet was excellent. The most tender beef brisket I've ever eaten and the tastiest fried chicken and delicious side dishes to boot. Enjoying this delicious meal, overlooking the beautiful water falls and listening to the cool sounds of slam Alan and tasting samples of beer from a local brewery made this a night to remember!
We went for the Sunday Blues Brews and BBQ events they run in the summer. Absolutely awesome experience. Great food and drinks, wonderful service, terrific live music and if that weren't enough, it all happens on a beautiful multi-level deck with a waterfall next to it. We will be back!!
I've been to Ledges several times before - maybe 3 or 4 - but this last time wasn't great as far as the food goes. Very mediocre: salsa and chips, fish tacos and I don't remember what else. We're hoping that the menu changed with the season however, I'm not sure we'll be back for dinner - drinks - yes.
