Great atmosphere, great food, an all-around fun place to eat. Table service was outstanding & just the right amount of attentive. I had the cod, which was outstanding & my dining companion had boar sausage with beans dish that she said was fabulous. Drinks & dessert added to a wonderful meal. About an hour + from where we live, but worth the trip!
My husband and I had made reservations for Valentine's day. This is the second time we booked this for this occasion . Last time was beyond expectation . This year we had a 7:30 reservation and didn't get to sit down until 8:30. The bar was over crowded while we waited and we were always In the staff way standing . The food when we got seated was all perfect. I just think they overbooked themselves for this day and should better plan for next year .
I have never loved a restaurant as much as I love Glass. I have been here probably close to 10 times and I continue to be blown away. I have never had a bad meal or a bad cocktail in all my times there. Great atmosphere, friendly & attentive staff, & beyond amazing food. We come here to celebrate every special occasion :) Everything is simply exquisite.
Food is amazing. Gluten free options for my girlfriend were great. Bar prices high a little. Good price reasonable. They took away that incredible gluten free brownie. Heartbreak
THE FOOD AND SERVICE WAS VERY GOOD. OUR WAITER WAS EFFICIENT AND POLITE. WE APPRECIATED THAT HE DIDN'T CALL US" YOU GUYS"! DECENT INEXPENSIVE WINE LIST. THE DUCK BREAST WAS THINLY SLICED AND DELICIOUS. WE PEREFER THE BAR AREA IN THE BOOTHS FOR MORE PRIVACY IN WINTER SEASON.
We had a wonderful evening, our waitress was terrific and all the recommendations we so good! Look forward to going back!
Great find in Hawley..although it takes some detective work to find it! We had a wonderful Anniversary dinner at Glass Wine Bar on Saturday and it was great! The table was cozy, yet allowed people watching at the wedding going on in the other room. Our waiter was fantastic, craft cocktails super and the tapas menu let us sample four or five different dishes. All were great!
the restaurant is a little difficult to find in the dark since it is located around the back of the building down a narrow winding path, but worth the search. We timed our dinner date with the guitarist who is a regular and he was very enjoyable to listen to and the music was a favorite attraction to our evening. The tapa dishes are portioned well ( not too skimpy ) and the food were presented in an appetizing fashion. The cheese board was especially fun and delicious. We also tried the wine flight which is a novel idea but decided that we would prefer to order a glass of wine in the future since the price was high for the volume of wine. Be sure to end your evening with the dessert as we were delighted with our two desserts - both seasonally prepared and very tasty.
As a returning customer, I was very much looking forward to taking my out of town guest for Friday's live music event. However, I was very disappointed with the service we experienced. I made a reservation (and had requested to sit by the music), and we had to wait an hour and a half for a table. The people at the table we were waiting for had signed their check, and were sitting at the empty table without being asked to kindly leave and move to the bar. Very disappointed with this poor service.
We've enjoyed the Glass several times in the past and were not disappointed this time! We took family with us this time, to whom we'd raved about the place. They were still amazed. The waitress was new to us, but her service was as great as we've enjoyed in the past. We like that there's always variety to the menu and local ingredients are used. We'll be back!
had a wonderful meal there this weekend. Was a very quiet Sunday night. Food was amazing. Bartender was super sweet. Chef's came out at the end of the night and talked to us. You can tell they are very passionate about their work - and it shows! Will definitely be going back.
Must order - mac and cheese (best I've ever had)
The server was not attentive. The food was outstanding as always. The ambiance in the bar and on the deck is much better than in the front dining room.
I made a reservation on a Monday for a Sat dinner. Requested a particular seat, as it was our first wedding anniversary & wanted something a little extra nice and romantic by the fire, as i explained when i booked. When we arrived, the Maitre'd passed us just standing there waiting 3 times before even acknowledging us. No, it was not that busy that he couldn't smile, welcome us and say something. Then stated he saw our request for a particular seat when i gave him our name, and was unable to fulfill it. Just in the way he said it was just rude, and honestly, we should have left at that point but for whatever reason we stuck it out. Why ask for special requests if you cant plan accordingly especially since i booked 5 days in advance.
Food service was very slow, for a small plate tapas style place, but our waitress (from Brooklyn) was outstanding! It is a very pretty place, but the food is nothing special. The Maitre'd is rather arrogant and not very nice, and its not our first encounter with him, or our first time there, but unfortunately it was our last.
You're in the hospitality business, so i did expect a lot more on several of levels.
I hardly write reviews, and my husband wanted to say something while we were there and i insisted he did not. Writing an honest review seemed the least combative of the two for me.
The music wass a really great bonus! Good, service, and atmosphere was great, we will be bacj!
outdoor seating was absolutely beautiful. small plates were very tasty. cocktails we had were well prepared. definitely would go back in a heartbeat.
