In spite of the Corvid-19 virus we were warmly welcomed at The GlassHouse Tavern and the salmon was one of the best meals we have ever had.
Service was excellent. Professional, friendly and attentive and efficient.
We both chose items from the $44.00 Pre Fixe dinner menu which included a choice of an appetizer, entree and dessert. We chose to add wine and coffee.
The portions were smaller than the full price items but we both agreed that it was a perfect amount of food. We will often order one appetizer, 2 entrees and 1 dessert so this was a comparable amount.
The scallops were delicious, quick charred on the outside, perfect on the inside. The salmon and risotto were well prepared and full of favor. The cappuccino Panna Cotta was a creamy and sweet ending to a good meal. We enjoyed our pre-theater dinner and would recommend making a reservation!
First experience. This was a pre-theater lunch. The service, food and ambiance were top notch!
Perfect for ore-theater. Great friendly service!
It is a good after theater restaurant. Open late with a good assortment of entrees.
Great food and great service. Perfect for a pre-theater dinner.
We were surprised by the outstanding food and service at this busy, crowded Times Square restaurant. The Prix Fixe menu was a great value and everything was fresh and delicious: there were even options on the regular menu for our vegetarian. The service was friendly and professional. Nice looking restaurant too, but very noisy, and the drinks were on the pricy side; however, I would definitely come again pre or post theatre. The location couldn't be more convenient for just about every show, and they got us out in a timely manner without making us feel rushed. We would definitely recommend
It was our first time there. The staff was very attentive and nice. The upstairs dining room is attractive. The food is very good. I had a starter of delicious mushroom ravioli, and then main course of very good salmon. I ordered the bread pudding for desert, and that was the only disappointment, it had a texture like rubber.
Back again, we always stop in the glass tavern when we see a show on 47th street I love the salmon with the corn cous cous. I always arrive early before my friends and have a martini at the bar , the bar staff are lovely always friendly, fast and a good pour. While waiting I had the risotto balls wow very rich and creamy inside and kept me from inhaling my drink! We share the duck confit was delicious. I wish the pork shank on the pre fix menu was on the regular menu, seemed odd. The wait staff is always so attentive and friendly Wish more wine options is my only negative comment.
This venue never disappoints. I am always happy that it is a go-to choice in that neighborhood.
We had a great time at Glass House Tavern. We went there before going to a show. It was my mom's birthday. They gave her a cake and sang happy birthday to her. The food was good and Elsie our waitress was awesome.
So bummed our night was ruined by waiting for our entrees for 30 minutes. Salad was served promptly; meal arrived within 3 minutes of us needing to leave for a show, despite ordering the pre-theatre menu AND noting the same on our reservation. Appreciated the accommodation for one meal taken off the check. But, it didn't surmount our disappointment. The waitress didn't check on us or keep us apprised of status, until we flagged her down to check. Overall, beyond disappointed as this was a special occasion.
Service was prompt, waitress was cordial and very helpful. I did not feel rushed at all. Drinks were excellent and I would highly recommend this restaurant to my friends.
We had a late Brunch before the theater. Our waitress was wonderful, helpful, and on top of her game! The Eggs Benedict was delicious along with the side salad! Best of all we never felt rushed or hurried along to make room for the next party!
Love-love-love! It’s a pleasure to dine where you’re not sitting on top of the next person! Lovely atmosphere, great service and deliciously wonderful menu. We’ll definitely be back!
Have been to Glass House Tavern several times, and it never disappoints. Food is consistently good - my husband and son said their mussels were the best they ever had, because of the base they are prepared in.. Excellent!
Food, cocktails and service were excellent! Will be back!
Service and atmosphere was lovely and superb- brunch food was not so much unfortunately. Quiche was cold in the middle, truffled eggs were overcooked, pancakes were tough, mimosas although delicious were very overpriced. Crabcake and salads and baked goods were delicious however.
Good pre theatre restaurant. Service was efficient, food was good and noise level was fine.
Fantastic pre theater price fixed menu
Outstanding customer service — I was 1/2 hr early for my reservation and it was freezing out. Manager let me be seated to wait for other diner and did not pester me at all to order something. Lovely people.
Restaurants need to post whether or not they have elevators or that one must negotiate stairs to get to the dining area. I had paella and it needed some oomph. Very attentive service and they were good about letting me stay longer until my theater opened next door.
The overall experience was terrific waiting time was prompt the food was very good especially the branzino and seafood platter with pasta that I ordered photo of the children’s menu had very good choices which my grandchildren lovedI would definitely come back keep up the good work
My food was good, but I have a severe food allergy. I shared this with the wait staff and the host. I asked many questions and was reassured my dish would be safe. Nevertheless, I was served food I was allergic to anyway and became very ill. Very disappointed and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone with Celiac Disease.
Despite being in the thick of the theater/tourist area, the Tavern reliably provides good food at a fair price. If you have a show to catch, they’ll get you there on time without making you feel rushed.
Met up with friends for a birthday celebration. Everything about this restaurant was amazing. Highly recommend.
Reservation honored. Food preparation playing and taste all top drawer. Will definitely return
We had a lovely prix fixe dinner before the theatre. The food was delicious and the seevice impeccable!
Food BUT it took a long time to get our dinner on a night that it was not crowded
We were treated well from the moment we walked in the door. They made a special effort to seat us at the window and our service from Ben was exceptional. The food was delicious and perfect portions. Highly recommend.
Would never go here again. Truly awful
Wait staff was very attentive and asked if we had show tickets! We did! Food was good and tasty! We weren’t rushed and enjoyed our meal!
what a wonderful find! i've been coming here for years - pre theatre and sometimes just because. service, food, ambiance and staff are always perfect. just recently i called that we were stuck in traffic and would be a bit late for our res. i was told no worries and our table would be held. delayed longer than anticipated i actually got a phone call to check on us! we were across the street and arrived minutes later. how kind was that!! highly recommend.
The food is consistently wonderful at the Glass House Tavern. There is something for every one on the menu. The waitstaff is very professional and attentive. Highly recommend!
Always a wonderful experience. Excellent food, convenient to all midtown activities. Our waiter was delightful!
Great service very attentive staff. The appetizer duck confit and roasted corn cous cous were phenomenal. Unfortunately my husband’s seafood paella lacked seasoning- no salt, bland and the seafood was undercooked. Lamb bolagnese was very good. Didn’t try dessert- we were both very full
Got to restaurant at 630. Told waiter we had an 8pm show... by 730, our main courses were still not brought to the table. Finally , at 735, our food arrived. We had to eat in less than ten minutes and rush to our 8pm show. Will not be going back!
It was valentines weekend and a birthday celebration. Service was wonderful. We all took the prix fix menu and it was a great choice and decent value. They gave me a glass of champagne for my birthday. Lovely evening
I love Glass House Tavern. Consistent, wonderful menu and options. Whether you dine pre fixe before the theater or are just there to dine the service is great.
