Enjoyed a pre-theater brunch at The Glass House.
The menu was very varied offering everything from eggs to salads to sandwiches and more. The portions were generous, food was cooked as requested. Any mistakes made by the wait staff were quickly corrected. Kudos for the delicious French fries which are sprinkled with rosemary, a nice surprise and a yummy touch.
As this restaurant consists of many floors accessible by stairs only. we were very appreciative that the Restaurant staff was very responsive to our needs for a table that could accommodate a person with a disability. There are several tables in bar area which is almost street level and does have a wheelchair lift.
My family went before a show and they were able to accomdate 11 of us in the back of the restaurant. We got there at 11:30 and we were out by 1:15! Great food and service!
Last minute table booking on Friday night, tried the NYC restaurant week, love the crab cake and the dessert (panna cotta), service is good and quiet environment
I showed up at the last minute trying to eat prior to curtain time - the busiest time of day for a restaurant in the theater district. They were so accommodating and friendly. They managed to get me well fed and feel well taken care of in plenty of time to make it to the show. My hat is off to them and i will be back.
We enjoyed selections from the special Restaurant Week menu. Delicious!
My wife and I dined at Glass House after seeing Waitress at a matinee. The restaurant is conveniently located two doors from thr theater. The service was excellent. We dined from the thater week menu. There were sveral choices for a three course meal. The meals that my wife and I chose were well prepared and delicious. I would recommend this restaurant especially for pre or post theater.
The food service and atmosphere were a welcome change from the traditional experience.
Excellent location for pre-theater dining, and that reservations are available.
Restaurant week and the meal was excellent value.
Excellent food and service! We will return ! Restaurant Week menu was great......nice portion size!
A favorite spot near the theatre. Excellent customer service.
Very nice theater district restaurant- well located with good food and service- they are geared to theatre goers!
Professional friendly service / prompt /excellent food / mimosa a bit pricey at 13 dollars
Had a great lunch . Very nice restaurant. Very clean. Service was very good. Would go back there again. Was right in theaters district.
We were there for Sunday brunch, pre-show. It happened to be restaurant week.
I felt like the meal was a all-over-the-place. Some items were terrific, some just ok.
But, the restaurant is lovely and wonderfully located.
Excellent service, food and atmosphere perfect for theatre goers!
Great dinner after theater matinee. Easy to book reservation. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Atmosphere was very comfortable. Would definitely recommend.
Enjoyed a delicious brunch with friends before a show. Arrived a bit early, restaurant was not officially open yet, but was graciously greeted and seated. Our waiter came over and apologized that they weren’t open but gave us our menus to peruse. Came by a few minutes later to let us know the specials and take our drink order.
Everything we had we had was very well cooked, including the desserts and coffee. My eggs were perfectly poached on my Benedict and the steak for the steak and eggs was cooked exactly as asked by my friends. My husbands burger was also cooked as asked and he loved the rosemary fries.
Great little place right in the heart of the theater district.
Was in New York with my daughter for a weekend trip. First time in New York and decided to try Glasshouse Tavern for our dinner. We were both happy with our meals and loved the atmosphere; staff was very friendly; and other guests were extremely friendly as well! Table next to us were NY locals. 😊
Great food, great service, enough said
Great restaurant. WE always go to Glass House when we are attending a Broadway show on 47rh Street. Glass House staff understands that guests are going to the theatre, and are prompt and courteous. The food is always wonderful
Great as usual. Always include this stop on my yearly NY VACATION each year
Excellent food and service. Pleasant but ordinary atmosphere. A heads up for anyone with a mobility issue: The main dining room is up a flight of stairs and the bar is down a flight of stairs.
My first time there and it was a awesome experience. Can’t wait to go back next time I am in the city.
It was a solid choice - food and service were good. Was enjoyable and relaxing family setting that accommodated children.
We went to Glass House Tavern before the theater. The food was delicious. Two of us had the pork shank and two of us had the salmon. Both dishes were fabulous. The meat fell off the bone. Everyone was raving about it. We enjoyed our salad which had the perfect amount of dressing. One of our party had the risotto for an appetizer which he enjoyed. The desserts were yummy. I personally had the chocolate cake and my husband had the bread pudding. This will our go-to restaurant when I visit the theater. Service was friendly and efficient. I would recommend highly.
The food was very good, service was not what I️ expected. Being that it was a bit on the pricey side.
The food was good, the ambiance was good. I've dined at Glass House before and decided to go back for Sunday brunch. This time the service was terrible. We had an 11:15 reservation, were seated promptly and the restaurant was not busy. We put our order in and it took about 30 minutes before our food arrived. It was so bad we asked for and paid the check before we received our dessert !!! It was hard to tell if the kitchen was slow or the wait staff was overwhelmed. The wait staff was pleasant and apologetic it just took way to long to get our food.
We’ve eaten here multiple times and have not been disappointed. Staff is friendly, location perfect , and food is consistently great.
Enjoyed our pre-theatre dinner......crabcake is outstanding. Never rushed. Service was wonderful. This is the 3rd time we have eaten here and never have we been disappointed
Perfect for what we were looking for.....brunch before a Saturday matinee. Great location for theater goers. Good food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
A friend and I went for dinner after The Band's Visit (brilliant) and ate on the second floor. It was Restaurant Week and downstairs, with the bar area, was packed and noisy. Upstairs, peaceful and quiet. Heaven in the middle of the theater district. We ordered off the Restaurant week menu: organic green salad (huge and good); the Pork shanks (huge and good) and the warm chocolate cake with some ice cream (delicious). We didn't drink and our bill with a 20% tip was under $100. For a good dinner and great service, I was thrilled. If the food had been great, I would have been utterly knocked out but all in all, I am returning.
Restaurant week menu was superb . We upgraded a little and added sides. Was then a perfect meal and the service was lovely by our waitress. Will definitely be there again
thought it was a nice pre-theatre dinner...wouldn't say it was the best meal ever but certainly an enjoyable evening...staff very nice as well
The service was so bad, I spike to the manager. That despite the fact we were next to the servers station. It took 15-20 minutes to be asked for a drink. Had to ask for honey for the tea 3-4 times. Corn chowder was good. Salmon wad overcooked and on the fishy side. Wrong dessert brought out and returned. We won't being going back.
Delicious crab Cakes! Perfectly cooked filets. Friendly manager.
Delicious food, nice ambience, great venue to dine with friends. Nice spot for a meal before or after Broadway.
Nice meal. They did not provide the restaurant week menu without asking first.
Good service. A slow start, but we had plenty of time to enjoy our meal before the show.
Meal was good.
Good food, atmosphere and it wasn't too crowded. However, the service was poor. Everything was very slow, especially beverage service.
A terrific restaurant near theaters. Food is very good. Friendly staff. Attractive restaurant with three levels. Tables are spaced well, not noisy and they never rush you. A go to place whenever I am in the area.
Efficient friendly service. Delicious food. We had the duck and a fish dish both of which were savory and cooked to perfection. Manager checked in with us as to our satisfaction. Would definitely recommend.
