Glass House Tavern
Executive Chef Craig Cupani has created a contemporary American menu that sets this restaurant apart from the other choices in the neighborhood. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are the emphasis here and the results are fantastic.

Great location for lunch before the theater. They were very willing to add two people to our group at the last minute. Food was delicious and the wait staff was personable, attentive, and very accommodating. We will be back.
Lovely looking restaurant with attentive service. Food was yummy but portions are for women. A hungry guy will be a bit disappointed. Perfect for lunch before theater.
The pre-theater menu offered delicious selections at a fair price. My petite filet mignon and roasted potatoes were delicious and perfectly portioned. When a server tipped a cup of coffee on my sister’s lap she was ridiculously forgiving and we continued to enjoy our meal. Yet I did feel the restaurant could have offered us an after dinner drink or forgiven the charges for a single glass of wine.
It is an attractive location, with pleasant but unpolished staff, and very good food. I’m sure I’ll be back.
Always a good meal at The Glass Tavern. It is our go to place in the theater district.
The service was outstanding. We told the waitress that we had a 7 pm show, and she had us out of there by 6:40 which was perfect. All but one of us ordered the fixed price menu. Three of us had the salmon which was delicious. A couple of others had the pork chop which wasn't quite as good. The desserts were delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant and will return on our next visit to NYC.
Nice place - food was delish. Very nice waiter. Service just a tad slow, but we had a great time wold go back again
A solid favorite for pre-theater dining - convenient, good variety, and tasty.
Food was delicious, service lagged a bit.
I ate there after seeing a show. We made reservations so our table was ready. The server was friendly, thorough and prompt. Our food was good, even though it was a limited menu, different from the menu online. The bathrooms were not that clean and there were only two stalls on the first level, so the wait was long. I would recommend this spot for a nice bite after a show.
I LOVE Glass House Tavern as a before or after theater dining option. Always tasty and always great service. I just enjoyed my fourth visit and consider it a must do every New York trip❤️
I don’t usually write reviews, but I want to compliment the restaurant. They accommodated our group celebrating my parents’ anniversary even when an extra family member unexpectedly showed up. The food was excellent and the staff readily accommodated food allergies in the family. Most importantly to me, they treated my parents with extra care. One maitre’d whose name I am sorry that I did not ask made a special point of offering his arm to help my mother up and down a short staircase. They also gave my parents each a complimentary glass of prosecco. Outstanding! Felt like a celebrity even though we are not!
Pleasantly surprised. Would definitely return. Did the price fixe brunch and the food was delicious and the servings were plentiful.
Good, fresh tasting food, great wait staff and friendly staff overall.
Really enjoyed this place. Food, service and price, all in line. I will definitely return soon!
This was a super noisy place with mediocre food and service. I don’t recommend it.
Nice atmosphere. Food was just OK. At the price point it should’ve been excellent. Salmon had no seasoning/flavor. Drinks and food expensive, even at NYC prices. Underwhelming experience.
Our go-to spot every time we visit NYC— always a fabulous dinner!!
I enjoyed this restaurant, and the food and service were very good. It’s also a great location for a pre-theatre meal. I definitely recommend it.
Had nice dinner in between Harry Potter Parts 1 and 2. Food very good, great service, easy in and out with a reservation.
I always enjoy the food and service at this place. A nice table or joining the crowd at the bar is fabulous. Sara was our server and she was amazing. She catered to my request of clean silverware because I dont like to use silverware that's sitting on the table matts. She remembered it was my friends birthday and brought out zeppolis as a complimentary dessert. Expect to pay more in a place like this because it's the heart of the theater district but the food is prepared deliciously. Always a great place to visit.
GlassHouse is always super and the crab cake is the all time best!
Overall it was great! There was one dish that we did not like, but the restaurant staff was very accommodating.
All the food was very good( we went for brunch), but the crab cakes were AMAZING! Great service
Great food and perfect for pre-theater lunch. Would definitely return again.
This is the perfect pre and post theater destination.
Delicious food, beautiful space & excellent service.
First dining experience at Glass House and everyone was very happy with the food and ambiance. We were a party of six ages 6 to 86. We had a 4:45pm reservation as we were eating after Frozen 2pm matinee. We were seated promptly at a round table on the 2nd level in the rear of the space. I very much liked the multi level set up of the restaurant and that the tables were nicely spaced as well. It was not difficult to have a conversation with someone on the other side of the table. The 6 year old had a burger which was huge with fries and the other entrees included salmon, roasted chicken, seafood paella, seafood spaghetti and cod. All of the entrees were deliciously prepared, excellent portions and served piping hot. The seafood entrees had a substantial amount and assortment of fresh seafood in the dish. We will definitely return. Great option for a pre or post theater meal. There are gluten- free pasta options as well. Kitchen was very accommodating to any dietary needs too.
Good food, good service, except the drink orders were just a tad slow in getting to the table. Otherwise the perfect place for pre show brunch!
We had a wonderful pre-theater dinner and the prixe fixe menu had a lot of great options. Everything was delicious and the food came out quickly in spite of the busy venue. I will be sure to go back!
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. The food was excellent and beautifully presented.
The food was delicious and the service very warm and friendly.
LOVED IT. WARM ATMOSPHERE. GOOD FOOD . WONDERFUL SERVERS
It’s NYC so I expect the prices to be high, but the lack of options and to not be able to get a plan or made up omelette is just ridiculous. Coffee was cold and not that good .....live and learn
Had the prix fixe brunch and everything was delicious! Had the arugula pear salad which the chef kindly substituted goats cheese for the blue cheese. Could have eaten a bigger portion of this and been satisfied. Avocado Toast was divine and barely had room for the bread pudding! Not cheap but good value. Service was not fast but we were not in any hurry. My only complaint was our table was so close to another table that it was sometimes hard to hear across the table. However, would highly recommend the food and would love to go back and try more from their menu!
The good experience started with the host noting the request for a table by a wall (for hearing concerns). It continued with a very thoughtful and attentive server who took time to answer questions and who made some helpful suggestions. The food was excellent (our table ordered from the prix fixe menu and had a vegetarian pasta, salmon, and pork chop -- each very good and very well-prepared. And we could hear each other -- a rarity in a New York restaurant. Plus, they got us out without a rush in plenty of time for the theater.
I always love my visit to Glass House Tavern. The service and food are consistently wonderful.
Love it here. The service was outstanding! We were early and got there before restaurant opened for lunch but they let us in and seated us with coffee/tea until they opened. Food was good, and they were very attentive to the fact that we had time constraint due to theatre. Could not have been better.
I went with a friend and our daughter's aged 11 and 18 for Kids Night on Broadway. Hostess was friendly. We had a wonderful waiter. Seated immediately. And food was delicious. I recommend the NY strip! I will definitely return with my husband.
Excellent location in the theatre district. Very good service; the staff assisted with a last minute birthday dessert request very graciously. Very good aperol spritz! Food was nicely prepared and fresh, but could use more originality and a touch more flavor. Would definitely come here again. A great go-to if you're seeing a show.
We arrived for our 11:30 reservation prior to attending a show.
Our waiter was overwhelmed, and it appeared as though they were short staffed. Our order was taken within 15 minutes of arriving. We did not receive our entrees for 90 minutes. We had to cancel our dessert order, as there was not time. We had a 2 hour and 15 minute window for salads and sandwiches.....ample time for good service without rushing. Despite our request for information about our lunch, we did not receive anything but, "it will be out shortly". When it arrived the warm entrees were cold, and tasteless. I won't be returning.
Very disappointing food after reading so many positive reviews on Trip Advisor. Service was slow...friendly...but surprisingly slow. Atmosphere kind of old, outdated. Would not do again with so many wonderful food options in NYC.
