Glass House Tavern
Executive Chef Craig Cupani has created a contemporary American menu that sets this restaurant apart from the other choices in the neighborhood. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are the emphasis here and the results are fantastic.

good option for where it is located. food is reasonably priced for ny but not great. great service, bar scene looked good. would still recommend for an option in a very touristy area.
We went to Glass House for a pre theatre dinner before Hamilton. What a gem this place is! The food was fantastic, as was the service! This will be a new go to when we’re in the Broadway/Times Square area. Definitely go and try it if you haven’t. Their pricing fine meal is a great value.
Set in the midst of the theaters, Glass House Tavern was really quite good. The food was interesting and well-prepared, and our server was terrific. This is not high gourmet, but it is far better than the usual pre-theater place. We sat upstairs, which is a very nice, airy room (downstairs is a quite crowded and noisy bar area).
We arrived 2 1/2 hours before our show. Our waiter was wonderful...we were never rushed, so we had a delicious leisurely dinner and then delicious desserts (the lemon poundcake is outstanding!!) Food is a bit pricy but worth it. We would definitely go back!
Good food, good selection and service---good choice for pre-theater.!
met family for lunch and we had a great visit
Salads were filling
Wine was delicious
Meal was delicious. Loved the corn risotto. Only real complaint was that it was too dark where we were sitting upstairs
The Glass House Tavern is a perfect spot for a pre-theater lunch. The menu has a nice variety, the food was very good, prices were reasonable and the service was friendly and attentive.
I would recommend requesting a table in the back room upstairs that has the fireplace. We were seated in the front room upstairs which was small and lacked charm. The positive was that it was very quiet, but I still would have preferred to sit near the fireplace.
I would have given the restaurant higher marks because the staff were attentive but the food was just okay. We went for brunch before a show and we ordered pancakes, french toast and eggs benedict. The pancakes seemed to be a little undercooked and the eggs in the eggs benedict were overcooked. Maybe they were just having a bad day but it was disappointing.
Our waiter was excellent—attentive, helpful, friendly. And I love when a waiter gets a twinkle in his eyes talking about his favorite menu items. He was spot-on. The crab cake, salad, and panda cotta were perfect.
We had a very nice early evening meal after a Saturday matinee in the neighborhood. The food was very good. The service was solicitous but uneven. They were unable to figure out how to serve the single order of soup as requested prior to bringing the salads. One salad came, no soup. It then was a comedy of errors. It turned a potentially very nice experience into an adequate one.
We love this restaurant. Our recent visit was as DELICIOUS as our prior visits which are usually once a month. There are always genuine warm greetings from the staff and receptionist.
Good quality of food and a good balance of quality/cost and excellent service.
Wish they would change the menu a bit, but what they do they do well.
PS. The vodka martini with the Asian fruit was outstanding and a pleasant surprise.
Food was very good as was the service. Table was very small and it was not warm enough in the restaurant.
We were very pleased with every aspect of our dining experience, and look forward to our next visit.
Always a wonderful pre show experience
Sunday brunch with the kids - our waiter was very accommodating for my two youngest. The food (pancakes, French toast, bagel with salmon & steak and eggs) were all delicious though the med rare steak was over cooked I t was still very flavorful. Spicy Bloody Mary was perfect.
The food was very good and it was perfect for dinner following the theater. Conveniently located, good atmosphere, attentive service. It is on the pricey side, but nothing in that area of NY is cheap. So overall, I would rate this restaurant very highly.
Was very busy with waiters running up and down the stairs constantly.
Ordered our food and everything was automatic. Never asked if we would like coffe/tea. Had to hunt Dow the waiter to get the check.
Waiter was pleasant and friendly, but obviously had too many tables to handle.
Been there before during the week and it was not so hectic.
We went to the Glass Door Café for our friend's 50th birthday brunch. The entire experience was nothing short of delightful. From the hostess to the wait staff to the delicious food every aspect of our meal was truly wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Good pre theater spot. Good value for wine list.
Great place for before or after theatre dining. Excellent food and service in a casual atmosphere. Never disappoints.
Amazing post theatre meal and birthday meal. The entire staff was friendly and ultra efficient! We will be back for sure!
We were seeing both parts of ‘Harry Potter’ on a very busy Saturday over the holidays and we were overwhelmed by the service and kindness we received. First we were late for our reservation because of the crush on Times Square and when I called I was reassured by the host. Then we were seated immediately and I explained that we only had time for drinks and entrees. Our waiter gave us generous, attentive service as if we were getting a three-course meal. And THEN, somehow, magic happened in the kitchen and SIX different meals arrived within just a few minutes, all perfectly prepared. This will become one of our regular NYC stops!
The bottle wine was reasonable and the Cabernet poached pear salad was outstanding. The branzino fish dish I ordered for $32 was tasty but very small. My husband's roast chicken was so-so.
I've been there often. It's one of my favorites. Can't beat the location. Food is consistently good.
This was a terrible place to have after show dinner. The menu wasn’t that great to start with and the service was really bad. The servers were far more concerned with talking to each other than actually waiting on us. The food wasn’t terrible but it was NOT good. The prices were very high for what was a very mediocre meal. Steer clear as there are so many better choices nearby.
Didn't seem to be any atmosphere, the place was less than half full. The service took a while to get going, but improved. The prices were very high imho, a half bottle of wine for $30? My wife and I had a glass each! The filet mignon was beautifully cooked and delicious. But all it came with was mashed potato and a few carrots - $48.
I wouldn't say it was good value, even for New York.
Arrived for a pre-theatre dinner. Place was not very busy but they placed us right on top of the loudest family on the planet - think like George Costanza's family and add a poorly behaving 5 year old - really? Was going to ask for a change, but thankfully they left before our food arrived. After that - all was right. Food, service, ambiance and price all very good.
Terrific, fast service; a great pre-theater spot. Prix Fixe menu offerings are very good and the portion sizes are perfect. I especially liked the butternut squash risotto, chicken, and warm chocolate cake. Definitely a terrific, reliable choice.
The prix fixe was exceptional at a convenient location within walking distance of the theater district.
Always consistently delicious
We picked this restaurant because of its proximity to the theater we were attending but were so pleasantly surprised to find a nice, relaxed ambiance inside, attentive service and most of all, quality food. We had a large party and everyone truly enjoyed their meals, which included appetizers and desserts. We will definitely consider coming back here next time we are mid-town/at a show.
As always, Glass House Tavern had exceptional fare and a great location.
We didn't remember the restaurant feeling so commercial. It lost its vibe for us.
This is a great restaurant in the theater District. Excellent service. Would go back again and again
Fine restaurant in the theater district with large menu; plan to spend time for leisurely meal. Worthwhile experience.
Wonderful Family Dinner before a Broadway Play (Hamilton). Wait staff exceptionally attentive. Food was excellent. We very much enjoyed our experience at the Glass House Tavern.
We have been coming to a Glass House Tavern since they opened, 8-9 years ago & have never been disappointed. The food is excellent & the service remarkable. You are never rushed so you can relax & enjoy your meal. The prices are great also.
We were visiting NYC from out of town and headed to theater afterwards. The server was sensitive to that and our food was brought out in a timely fashion. Salmon was excellent as was the white chocolate bread pudding. Host was friendly and welcoming. Definitely return.
Have been here many times, always good. Dinner is a little on the expensive side compared to lunch menu, but very good. We will be back in near future.
