Food was good.
Don’t expect good service and you won’t walk out disappointed. A bit surprising for the quality food served.
Bus help clears dishes as you set your fork down from your last bite. Hold on to your plates if you have a small bite left. Don’t make any requests through them either - our one cup of coffee took reminders and 15+ minutes!
This restaraunt has excellent service, amazing food, and a calming ambiance. Filet mignon was melt in your mouth good and the ricotta zeppolis topped me off.
The Glass House Tavern was wonderful! It was just around the corner from our theatre, and we were fortunate to enjoy the Restaurant Week menu before our show. Our server, Valerie, was very nice and everyone enjoyed their dinner. We had the salmon and the steak. There were three orders of the steak with different requested temperatures, and they were all done to perfection. Our starters were the tomato salad and the watermelon salad. Both very good. For dessert we had the bread pudding and the yogurt. Both deserts were light and delicious. This was our first time at this restaurant, and we will definately recommend it to our friends when they are in NYC.
Very good service and food was very tasty.
The music was extremely loud downstairs, disruptive to the upstairs dining room. Food was just okay. Service was great, the host and waitress were very accommodating.
We opted for the restaurant week menu and best food I’ve had in a long time. Everything was perfect—service, food, atmosphere. Look forward to going back soon.
Excellent burgers. Watermelon spritzer and white sangria were both delicious. Desserts are outstanding. We were not rushed and had a very relaxing time before our show. Cappuccino was perfect. Dining area where we were was a bit dark. Ladies room extremely small.
The food was delicious and the staff was very polite and pleasant.
The seafood is good. Had the soft crab starter, it was delicious.
Very good portion for restaurant week prize. Good server too
Perfect spot for pre-theater without the craziness of some restaurants in the area. Lovely space, inviting bar, and an unexpected more private dining area upstairs. Staff extremely attentive and professional. Food delicious and varied. Very well prepared and generous too.
Not impressed at all. Worst Bloody Mary I’ve ever had. Waiter was awkward whenever he interacted with our table. Food was ok, nothing special. Overall, would not return.
Perfect spot for pre-theater lunch! Everyone enjoyed their meal; my Cobb salad was fresh and delicious, the split pea soup was excellent, and my kids all enjoyed their egg dishes (we were there for Saturday brunch). Will definitely go back!
Great service. Terrific year round price fixe pre theatre. Food is hardy but prepared with artistry great bar drinks
We had an 8 pm show across the street and a 5:45 reservation. The place was relatively empty when we arrived, but filled up quickly. When the waiter heard that we were not in such a rush, he disappeared for us and we had to seek him out to place our order and remind him that we still needed time to get to the show. Once we got him, everything was delicious and good service. They had a restaurant week menu as well as the regular one.
Excellent cocktails. Grouper special was very good. LI duck breast pastrami was also very good. Lemon pound cake with vanilla ice cream also tasty, especially with lemoncello.
We frequent Glass House Tavern for pre-theater dinner quite often. The filet is amazing. Everything is always fresh and amazing.
First time there. Will definitely go back. The waiter was very good and friendly. He made suggestions and answered our questions. The food was tasty and had a very nice presentation. I was impressed with the salad and the cut of all the ingredients in it.
Nice ambiance and price but the taste of the food was so so. Even though the taste I highly recommend you visit this restaurant in NYC because it is not that easy to find a such a great place to talk with your friends and have a dinner with a reasonable price!
Service the best. Food- outstanding dessert-lemon pound cake. Entree good not great. Everyone around me was raving about fish & meat entrees. My vegetarian Quinoa and roast veg was mildly flavored with small cubes veg. I had hoped for bold flavor and large chunks roast veg. So others may love this dish. I learned-ask more questions before ordering.
Service could have been better...
Our waiter was attentive and the food was tasty. We would definitely return as this restaurant is near a number of theaters.
The staff at Glass House Tavern was lovely, particularly the maitre d', and our waiter. But the food was mediocre, and it was overpriced. I did have a great glass of wine!
Our after show dinner was fabulous. We chose the Resturant week menu and throughly enjoyed it. The waiter was so nice, he brought out a dessert with a candle to continue my boyfriends birthday weekend.
Everything was wonderful. The decor, the good, the wait staff, the food etc. would definitely return.
Delicious food, elegant dining experience and great servers. I had the 3 course meal for restaurant week and it was worth every penny!
Didn’t advertise that this restaurant would recognize restaurant week which it did. Service could’ve been so much better
good spot for pre theatre dinner - waiter made sure we were out in time for the show
I absolutely love this restaurant. I went there for my twentieth wedding anniversary after seeing The Donna Summers Musical. The seafood paella is to die for. My husband raved about his pork shank meal. The service was superb!
I love white table clothes in the dining area...the food was excellent...across the Street from the
Theater. A plus plus all the way.
Went to Glass House Tavern before the theater. Everything was great and we got to the theater with time to spare. We would definitely go back again.
Just happened to come across this gem and I’m glad I did! Will definitely be back.
Great food, great service, perfect pre or post theater spot!
Bruce Springsteen on Broadway
Always delicious seasonal options and a great theatre prix-fix dinner options too
Great restaurant. Have been here before but came again for Restaurant week lunch because it’s such a great deal (although I believe they normally do a prix fixe lunch when it’s not RW). I had the watermelon salad, salmon and warm chocolate cake. All very generous portions and delicious! My colleague had the same but with bread pudding for dessert and she mentioned that was the best. Will definitely be back
We couldn’t eat before the show, and then it ran longer than expected (and it was raining). I was concerned that we might not get to eat at all—which would have been a particular bummer since it was my husband’s birthday! But though we showed up at nearly 11pm for our 10:30 reservation we were greeted and served with apparent pleasure, seated immediately at a window table in the nearly empty upstairs, fed wonderfully , and the staff showed up with a lovely complimentary birthday dessert. Our very precise preferences for our martinis were also honored with good humor! A delicious and happy meal that put the finishing touch on a great family evening.
Great value and service for pre-theatre meal. Noise level ok, but definitely not quiet and serene. Server was friendly, knowledgeable and worked hard though very pushed to cover several tables. Warm chocolate cake with vanilla bean gelato was great!
We went to the Glass House Tavern after a Broadway Play, Saturday Matinee. They were not too busy when we arrived for our 5pm reservation. They were only at 2/3 capacity when we left @ 7pm. The atmosphere is modern and pleasant. The noise levels were low, temp was perfect and the lighting was very good. Service was very good. For appetizers we ordered the Chickpea Salad and Crab Cake, both very good. For entrées we ordered the Atlantic Salmon and Free Range Roast Chicken. Both were very well presented and flavorful. The salmon was cooked perfectly. However with the chicken, less salt would have been appreciated. This seems to be a common problem. Chefs need to use less of it. The chicken breast was a bit dry and tough. We also ordered a side order of sautéed seasonal vegetables. They were tasty, but less salt and oil would improve the taste. Only one us ordered a dessert, the Warm Chocolate Cake which was excellent.
Glass House never disappoints- service is top notch, great food with a variety for all tastes,& centrally located - love this place ❤️
