Always a treat to eat at The Glass House Tavern pre-theatre. We did not order the prixe fixed menu this time. The spaghettini with seafood was wonderful, although a bit heavy on the spaghetti. My daughter had a nice sized order of mussels and appetizer of ahi tuna. Both were presented nicely and very tasty. The service and ambiance were also very good. We will definitely return.
Love Glass House. It's been my go-to spot for years!
Nice brunch before a broadway show!
Yummy food and great service. We went before seeing Hamilton so they were good about getitng our dinner out in time for that...good food - small menu but tasty and they had a great wine list...would definitely go back!
Good, not great. Paella was terrific and duck was quite good. But the berries that accompanied dessert had been frozen and were dehydrated to the point of chewiness. They were inedible and I’m surprised they were served.
We had a great pre-show meal at the Glass House Tavern. From arrival to leaving, we were treated well. The food was terrific!
The food was not bad, not excellent. Organic salad was very tasty. Chocolate pudding was very tasty.
It was perfect for pre theatre. never felt rushed and waitress knew how to pace everything just right.
Quiet table by the window.
Portions were small but did the trick.
Glass House Tavern is a real find. In addition to the main menu, they have a wonderful, generously-portioned, reasonably priced year-round prix fixe for both lunch and dinner. Standouts at this gem are beautifully prepared salmon over corn and cous cous (I could eat it daily), crab cakes, risottos, pastas, and desserts like a light but satisfying panna cotta and a decandently vanilla-laced bread pudding. The chef is really a cut above, you are always greeted with a smile and waited on with care. My favorite spot in the restaurant, the Mezzanine Room, has a high ceiling and glowing electric fireplace that makes you not want to leave. I have never sat at the bar, but it's long and welcoming, with both bar and table seating.
Great pre theater dinner option. It was very convenient. Food was good . Location is prime. My husband and I both had the salmon. It was moist and tasty. Not the best I’ve ever had but certainly not the worst.
My husband had bean soup . He said it was good. I had a very nice salad. We both got the yogurt panna cotta. That was a nice fairly light end to the meal. Overall it was good. Get there early it fills up pre theater.
The food at this restaurant is superb. Hands down. Portions are generous (so be aware) even with the first courses. Plating is beautiful, and when Carlos is your server you'll have an even better experience.
Took my girlfriend here after a show at the Barrymore theatre. The food was great, and the portions were good. The restaurant was quiet enough to actually tall and enjoy the meal. The food is pricey, but definitely worth it fo celebrate a night out.
Very clean - great food - lots of options - good drinks and service - not your typical theatre district - definitely recommend - refreshing
Went for brunch before Broadway show. Seated and served quickly. Food was delicious and friendly service.
Loved the brunch! Everything was delicious. Service great by Carlos. Never felt rushed. Would go back and recommend.
We had a delicious meal at the Glass House Tavern after catching the matinee of Dear Evan Hansen. The service was excellent and the prix fixe meals included generous appetizers, well prepared entrees and delectable desserts.
Great meal! Super convenient.
Family get together and we can’t say enough about how great an evening we had. The service was outstanding as was the food. Many got the pre fixed which is $42 for three courses and a good value. I had the roasted chicken which was delicious and came with veggies and yummy roasted potatoes. Generous drinks to start and yummy desserts to end. We never were rushed. It was raining when we left and really appreciated the folding umbrellas we were given! Definitely recommend if you are in the theater district.
Everything was delicious, from the mussels as a starter, the salmon and red snapper special through the sorbet for dessert. Perfect place for an early dinner before a show.
Dinner before Broadway show. Perfect! Great food and great service. We got to people watch from casually elegant dining room. It was like they knew exactly when to bring everything out so that we dined leisurely and then had plenty of time to walk around the corner for our show. Everyone there was so friendly and professional. Food was absolutely delicious. All around great NYC theater dining experience.
Staff was very friendly and helpful all evening. Food was delish as always. This restaurant is my comfort location when I’m staying nearby. Yummy.
Everything was excellent except we were seated by the window and the blinds were exceptionally dirty as were the windows
Excellent service and food! The lunch prefixe is a good deal with wonderful choices.
I've been here many times over the past year for a pre-theater dinner and I'll keep coming back for more. Reasonably priced for NYC restaurant and conveniently located in the theater district.
Great pre-fix menu, child friendly (for around ages 7 and up) and upscale food is served in a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Food was very good. Service was great. Very nice place.
I go to this frequently. The menu is unique and changes to give new options. great for bway show visits
My husband, 2 friends and I had an early dinner after a matinee. When we were shown to our table, only a few tables were taken and there were many tables for four open. Nonetheless, we wer seated directly across fron the servers' station and hallway to the restrooms. So, altough the food was quite good (especially the wedge salad), I won't be going back. Glass House has shown it doesn't value me as a patron and fortunately there are many more welcoming restaurants in the area. More restaurants should take their cue from Jean Georges-Vongereichten whose staff always makes all customers feel welcome and valued.
We were at the Barrymore Theatre seeing a 2:00pm play that was over at 3:35pm. We had a 4pm reservation and we a little early. We were welcomed very warmly and given the best table in our dining room which was still empty. Service was great and all of our questions answered regarding wine, and menu. We ordered the JUMBO LUMP CRABCAKE
Cucumber Noodles, Chipotle Aioliand & Chopped Kale Caesar (entree size) which was enough for 3 of us to share. The 4th person ordered her own Salad and had the Cream of Mushroom soup(loaded with a variety of fresh mushrooms) I had the FRESH ATLANTIC SALMON FILET Roast Corn & Cous Cous "Risotto", Citrus, Chiles, Blood Orange Vinaigrette. My boyfriend had DUCK 'PASTRAMI' Sliced Long Island Duck Breast, Spaghetti Squash, Sweet & Spicy Peppercorn Jus. One other had the SEAFOOD PAELLA Shrimp, Scallops, Calamari, Mussels & Cockles; Saffron Rice, Peas & Chorizo which she said was delicious! The dessert menu was very reasonable but we were too full to eat another thing! The restaurant filled up and was very lively!
We loved the Glass House Tavern, especially our waiter, who overheard me toasting my daughter on her 30th BD and brought out a special dessert for her.
Food and service are consistently excellent. We always come here for pre-theater lunch . conveniently located with always accomodating servers.
Oh - the joy of many menus: dinner, gluten free, price-fixed, bar menu, drinks menu, dessert menu. Save the wait person six trips up and down the stairs, and ask for all of them at once. The bar menu makes it a joy to take teenagers and eat without losing your shirt; it's varied, delicious, and very reasonably priced. Where else can you get out of a NYC restaurant for $79 for dinner for four (including one glass of wine)? It's a terrific pre-theater choice.
Fabulous find, great food had the seafood pasta and was so pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was
The waiter was great knew all
About his menu and served us extremely well
Can’t wait to return for another dinner
Consistently well prepared food at reasonable price.
Came into the city to see Lion King, the food was disappointing we did the prefix menu (duck croquettes, pork shank, butternut squash/ ginger soup and salmon). The skin on the salmon was pure charcoal which ruined the first bite of my fish. I do not like to complain so I cut off the skin and put it aside. The rest of the fish was flavored well. As a whole I was not impressed by the restaurant. The waiter did ask us if we were seeing a show to make sure our food came out promptly but he would disappear when we needed drink refills. I liked the soup but it was luke warm.
Pre-theater lunch. We loved it. Companions had lamb bolognaise and I had shrimp ceviche, which was one of the best I've had, and tuna nicoise. The tuna was rare and warm and the salad nicely dressed. The meal fit right into my Weight Watchers program. Our wait staff was attentive and courteous. It wasn't crowded so hard to tell if it would be noisy.
I had the best birthday at Glass House Tavern! The staff was so kind when I had a few more friends show up than I had anticipated. Great service!!!
Good spot for pre-theater dinner. This was the third time we've eaten there; however, this is the only time we considered the food to be merely 'mediocre'. To their credit, they did take the price of our two desserts off the bill once we stated our displeasure to our server. Another gentleman came over immediately to offer another dessert or taking it off the bill.
One of us had an appetizer of seared sesame tuna, which he said was delicious! However, he thought the price of $18 for four small pieces was a little high. (But hey, its NYC). I had an appetizer of crabcakes which was 'okay' but a little dry. I asked for and received extra sauce on the side for it.
Service was very good - personable, efficient and accommodating.
We will return again and hopefully we will be as satisfied as we've been previously..
Food and service were excellent!!
It's a nice space, convenient to lots of theaters. Not crowded and noisy. Decent food at fair prices and attentive service.
It is always a great meal at glasshouse tavern: the food & drinks are great:a very nice setting
Back wall fireplace.
There is bar seating or table seating by the bar-
Seating by the fireplace or sit upstairs with a beautiful window view of the nyc street.
