This restaurant was perfect for our preshow dinner. We love the ambience and the noise level was not so loud that we could not hear ourselves speaking to each other. We are ordered from the prefix menu which was $44. I thought $12 extra for the steak was a bit much. Without food was delivered, my steak tonight come as ordered and as announced. Turned out one of my friends had my medium steak and i had his medium well. When we brought it to our waiter’s attention, the manager came by and had it rectified. Portions were satisfactory. Crab cakes were meaty and not overloaded with breading. Steak and salmon could have used a bit more salt. The apple bread pudding was divine and tasted even better with ice cream. The alcohol cocktails were mixed carefully and appeared pleasing to the eye.
Gabriel, our waiter, was pleasant and attentive enough. He was truly apologetic about the mix up about our steaks. The ambience was joyous. Our reservations are at 5 PM. Half of our party arrived after 5:30 PM. Our show was at 8 PM. And we left the restaurant around 7:40 PM. Our theater was two blocks away.

Glass House was recommended by friends who attend the theatre often, and consider this restaurant a favorite. We were warmly welcomed into the bustling dining room for 5:15 reservation after attending a matinee performance. The service was excellent, the food very good, and the prices reasonable. Ben our waiter was superb, all staff was attentive. The prix fixe menu at $44.00 was a terrific value. We had fun, all enjoyed our meals and would absolutely return. Management was very hands on, running a great team to help assure any timelines for the theatre were met.
Thank you!!

A great place to grab a fixed menu special before a show. We enjoyed risotto, a filet, and chocolate cake/bread pudding. Would go again!

Had a fabulous time at Glass House Tavern! We went for our anniversary and when we arrived, we immediately received champagne to celebrate! Rachel, our server, was amazing and kept us laughing all night. Food was top notch - best filet mignon I’ve ever had, and the mussels to start were incredible, we were drinking the broth long after the mussels were gone! Excellent night, will be back next time we are in NYC!

This was my second visit to Glass House Tavern. I loved my first visit; this one not so much. Food was still great. Service was good, too (though the original waitress we had the first time was outstanding).
My main problem was that we had a table/banquette for two up front (the first time there were 3 of us and we were seated at a larger table in back), so the ambience was different. Where you sit makes a big difference. Near us this time there appeared to be a station for dropping off dishes and cutlery, and there was a near-constant din of clanging dishes and glassware. Despite these distractions I would go back again for the food and the restaurant’s proximity to theater.

My friend and I each had the prix fixe dinner, and, at $44.00 it was well worth the price. We both loved the salad; she had the pork shank and I had salmon with couscous. She loved the chocolate cake and I savored the maple pudding with fruits. This place is a real winner!

We chose Glass House Tavern because we had a show nearby afterwards and because we saw they had a great prix fixe menu. The restaurant was very appealing, and although it looked full, we were seated right away. At first I was a bit nervous about receiving all three courses in time to eat and get to our show, but our server Cormac made it happen. Our organic greens, crab cake, filets, and desserts were all delicious. And we were only 4 minutes away from our theater. Great evening!

(And thank you for being so accommodating even though we were late!) Looking forward to coming again!

Upon arrival I gave my name to the host and because of the mask he couldn’t understand so I pointed at his screen to say that was me and he became extremely rude and short with me, other than that our waiter was great and the food was amazing! Ambiance was just so so but the food made up for it.

The best service I’ve ever had in NYC! The people are incredibly gracious and accommodating. We were 40mine late and they still managed to get us out in time for the show. *And* since we didn’t have time for dessert they invited us to dine after the show to enjoy our dessert, which was just perfect! Thank you so much for a relaxing, enjoyable evening. Wish I could give 10 stars.

We went to the restaurant quite early, as we had theater tickets. We were placed at a table by the windows upstairs and it was quiet and very pleasant. As more people arrived, we wondered if the noise level would get bad, but it didn’t. The service was great, and the food was wonderful. We will return in the future!

Love the 2 hostess that brought us to our table; Our server and his help was AMAZING. Noise level was my child honestly; very quiet; great music. Staff was attentive. Food was delicious, sadly not to my son's taste (it has green stuff on it - Parsley or Cilantro or something) so he wouldn't eat anything but his Chocolate cake with Ice Cream. Definitely will come again

We heard that Glass House is a nice and fun place to go either before or after a show. We went after and Upstairs was a bit sedate especially since it was later so we went downstairs. It was much busier there and I think they were short staffed, which is often the case these days.
Being patient is the key and once we got our drinks and snacks we were perfectly fine. Drinks are very good and the snacks were tasty.
Definitely recommend!

Four of us joined for a very special evening. We were so happy with our experience. We started with champagne. They were unfortunately out of our choice but the replacement was nice. Two of the party chose the pre fixe menu. They both had the mushroom risotto to start then the filet. They said they were amazing. I had the special bass dish. Salty mushroom jus with perfectly prepared fish. So good! Another had the quinoa paella. Also delicious. I enjoyed the kale Caesar as well. We finished off the evening with bread pudding, sorbet, panna cotta and chocolate cake. All of the desserts are good but I loved the panna cotta the most. Our server was engaging and funny. He was overwhelmed to start as the theatre crowd was getting finished up but had more time with us later. Great atmosphere. I will return on my next trip.

We will be back! Excellent food and service. Four of us arrived at 5:15 for a 7 pm curtain 2 blocks away. Prix fixe offerings were tasty and always a good idea for a pre-theater dinner - order what you know the chef has chosen and prepared so it flies out of the kitchen. Modern decor on 3 levels, noise levels were good. We’ve had many mediocre meals in theater district. This was very well done. Look forward to the next time.

This is one of our go to places when we are going to a show. Their prix fixe menu is a bargain for a midtown restaurant. I had a delicious carrot-ginger soup, pork shank that was so tender that it fell off the bone and a maple pan cotta for $44. The food got raves from the four others in our party. Service was friendly and efficient.
