Restaurants need to post whether or not they have elevators or that one must negotiate stairs to get to the dining area. I had paella and it needed some oomph. Very attentive service and they were good about letting me stay longer until my theater opened next door.
The overall experience was terrific waiting time was prompt the food was very good especially the branzino and seafood platter with pasta that I ordered photo of the children’s menu had very good choices which my grandchildren lovedI would definitely come back keep up the good work
My food was good, but I have a severe food allergy. I shared this with the wait staff and the host. I asked many questions and was reassured my dish would be safe. Nevertheless, I was served food I was allergic to anyway and became very ill. Very disappointed and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone with Celiac Disease.
Despite being in the thick of the theater/tourist area, the Tavern reliably provides good food at a fair price. If you have a show to catch, they’ll get you there on time without making you feel rushed.
Met up with friends for a birthday celebration. Everything about this restaurant was amazing. Highly recommend.
Reservation honored. Food preparation playing and taste all top drawer. Will definitely return
We had a lovely prix fixe dinner before the theatre. The food was delicious and the seevice impeccable!
Food BUT it took a long time to get our dinner on a night that it was not crowded
We were treated well from the moment we walked in the door. They made a special effort to seat us at the window and our service from Ben was exceptional. The food was delicious and perfect portions. Highly recommend.
Would never go here again. Truly awful
Wait staff was very attentive and asked if we had show tickets! We did! Food was good and tasty! We weren’t rushed and enjoyed our meal!
what a wonderful find! i've been coming here for years - pre theatre and sometimes just because. service, food, ambiance and staff are always perfect. just recently i called that we were stuck in traffic and would be a bit late for our res. i was told no worries and our table would be held. delayed longer than anticipated i actually got a phone call to check on us! we were across the street and arrived minutes later. how kind was that!! highly recommend.
The food is consistently wonderful at the Glass House Tavern. There is something for every one on the menu. The waitstaff is very professional and attentive. Highly recommend!
Always a wonderful experience. Excellent food, convenient to all midtown activities. Our waiter was delightful!
Great service very attentive staff. The appetizer duck confit and roasted corn cous cous were phenomenal. Unfortunately my husband’s seafood paella lacked seasoning- no salt, bland and the seafood was undercooked. Lamb bolagnese was very good. Didn’t try dessert- we were both very full
Got to restaurant at 630. Told waiter we had an 8pm show... by 730, our main courses were still not brought to the table. Finally , at 735, our food arrived. We had to eat in less than ten minutes and rush to our 8pm show. Will not be going back!
It was valentines weekend and a birthday celebration. Service was wonderful. We all took the prix fix menu and it was a great choice and decent value. They gave me a glass of champagne for my birthday. Lovely evening
I love Glass House Tavern. Consistent, wonderful menu and options. Whether you dine pre fixe before the theater or are just there to dine the service is great.
Good, super convenient to theaters
It’s just okay - nothing special, and some of the meal was pretty less than special.
We ate here after reading online reviews. It was quiet as we were there early (5:00pm) due to seeing "Tina the Musical" at 7pm. Dinner was very good. I had the roast chicken and my husband a seafood plate that I can't remember. The wine was excellent and fairly priced. Our waiter was professional, helpful and fun to talk to. He mentioned that many of the actors come here & I can see why. It is located in the midst of so many theaters. We recommend dining here and we would come back. BTW, "Tina" was fabulous!!
Excellent service and ambiance. Husband’s lobster tale tasteless, but everything else was great.
Delicious pre-theater lunch. Best tomato basil soup I’ve ever had and the Restaurant Week prix fixe was a great deal.
The food was very good, however the menu is limited
Food was not good. Two fish dishes were dry and over cooked. A pasta with seafood was awful: tiny useless clams, some shrimp, and a terrible tomato sauce. Service was attentive. The restaurant was much larger than it appears from the outside. Inside it is a pub type setting.
I believe our servers name was Ben. He was absolutely amazing. We were on a time crunch in between a play and he made sure to get us in an out with time to spare. Would definitely recommend!
Food was great. Staff was very helpful, considerate and entertaining. Would recommend for drinks and food before or after show!
Great place for brunch! We were early but seated right away. Service was great! Will be back the next time we are in the city!
This was our second visit and again did not disappoint. The food and service are outstanding. Thank you for the birthday surprise!
Good theatre district location with varied menu. I was there for lunch and had a burger. My guest has a salad and both meals were very good. The service was a little slow for the dessert but it too was very good.
Excellent selection, great service, amazing food and they accommodated my diet restriction request. It’s a small place but worth the trip.
My friends and I went for Restaurant Week. The food was delicious and the service was great! We were all very pleased with the entire experience!
we always go with a show on 47th street , Valerie was my bartender very friendly and made a lovely dry martini ! I had the duck breast I should have stuck with my usual the salmon with a corn mixture under, my husband had the lamb Bolognese have to say wasn't good too many seasons going on. But still love there crab cakes that is always fabulous. May be next time just stay at the bar and martini and snacks might just be perfect. the space is lovely and bathroom always clean - for a busy time sq area place huge plus for me.
Great vibe, friendly and menu with different choices. Corn and quinoa risotto was great and the panna cotta perfect
Delicious as always. We were seated promptly and served efficiently by a pleasant server. I especially enjoyed the mushroom risotto and the roasted corn side with the salmon.
We had a 6:30PM reservation which was honored. We were escorted upstairs which was not that busy. We must have sat for 10 minutes b4 I called the maitre'd over to ask for some water. Our waiter finally came over to the table and we explained that we needed to leave by 7:30. WE ordered got our drinks then got our salads. Kale apple salad was delicious so was the Kale Caesar. This must have been around 7:10 - Then we had to ask the waiter for some bread - All the other tables were served - not really sure why we needed to ask. We did not receive our meals until 7:25 - I looked at the waiter and asked what happened and he looked at me like I had 3 heads. I did order the petite filet mignon which was delicious - My husband ordered the lamb bolognese which was very good. So we rushed and ate but it was restaurant week so I had ordered the Prix Fixed and was still waiitng for desert. We did not leave the restaurant until 7;45 -
All in all - food is great but they really need to shape up their servers. We were n't going to a broadway show -we were going to a live TV show so we were late.
Great food, service, and company. In the heart of the theatre district. Open late to serve your needs
Although we told our server we had a 3 o’clock curtain to make, lunch and our check were slow and we got to the theater at the last minute.
Lunch was tasty.
It was my wife's birthday and every was excellent especially the service.
