Pre theatre menu was great. Service and food very good.
Overall my dining experience was just ok. We wanted to do the prefixe pre-theater menu for the sake of time, but I could not due to dietary restrictions (I don't eat beef/pork),but the Waitress advised they could not remove the pork from the dish or even just plate the scallops alone. That was very annoying, so I opted to forego that menu and went with the special, grilled octopus...it was not good at all and I love grilled octopus, eat it all the time. This was very fatty and rubbery. My entree was supposed to be spicy, there was no spice at all. The zeppoli's were the only thing I enjoyed. I don't think I would ever eat there again.
Nothing special about the place.
Excellent. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and food ordered.
Had lunch here before seeing waitress. Our reservation for 12 allowed us to have a great lunch prior to the show. Overall it was good. Our server was nice but a little anxious, maybe new. My friend had two mimosas spilled on her entire back and our server apologized. I thought it deserved more than that, perhaps a drink or lunch comped since she needed to spend the rest of the day, including seeing the show while drenched across her back with orange juice and champagne. I’m sure it wasn’t pleasant.
Entire experience was wonderful. Waiter & staff were very attentive without being intrusive . Food was delicious.
Great pre fix lunch
Very nice dining experience . Great food and service . Food was served so quickly we had plenty of time to get to our show . I even asked for a change in my order from the menu and the kitchen was flexible to accomadate me . Thank you !
If you are going to a show make sure you give yourself more than 2 hrs for dinner. Service is slow, slow, slow. I frequently went to this restaurant in the past but I just can’t trust the service and having to gulp down my meal. This has occurred more than once. It is to bad because the food is usually tasty.
An OK place very well located in the heart of the theater district.
Wonderful eggs Benedict prior to a matinee - great Theatre District restaurant. Service was very good but not rushed.A regular for me!
Waitress was outstanding. Handled special requests with care.
We had Sunday brunch at the Glass House Tavern. One of the guests in our party was late but our waiter was so accommodating. He was very attentive and was very friendly. Our mimosas and our brunch were all delicious. Great service, great food, great experience. I will be back.
The sausage terrine with tomato jam was outstanding! The pear "carpaccio," filet mignon, and warm chocolate cake with berries and vanilla gelato were very good. The noise level gets a bit high when the restaurant is full, but that's to be expected.
The prix fixe menu is an excellent value for Manhattan.
Glass House Tavern's location makes it exceptionally convenient for pre-theatre meals.
We went on a Saturday morning for pre-theatre brunch. It was excellent. Great food and service
This is now my "go-to" when seeing a play. Food is always good, and service is never rushed and always warm and welcoming.
Pre-theatre - great meal and service. Kept us on time
Reserve seats upstairs! Fabulous passion fruit sangria, but potent. All three entrees got good reviews; my pasta and ground lamb (really a portion for two) was exceptional. Lovely prix fixe w/good selection for reasonable price. Super convenient for theatre.
It fit the bill for pre-theater. Nothing to write home about.
I was honestly surprised how bad the food and service was... wouldn't go back... food was salty and tasteless, the place was not busy at all, service was literally as if no one was there. Management was sitting down literally doing nothing.
Great convenience if you are going to the theatre. Food is good, not great. A nice 3 course Prix Fixe menu for $44.
This restaurant is an outstanding find! We had a party of six for brunch and were very comfortably accommodated, with impeccable service from the moment we walked through the door. It's located in the heart of the theater district and we were worried that it could be a tourist trap, but it was far from it! We will definitely return for dinner, as well, when taking in a show. It's now a top brunch choice, too.
Ever element of our late lunch was perfect - food , derive, ambience. From the moment we entered until we left, two hours later, It was as good as I had hoped, and better than expected. I’ll definitely be back!
We were seated quickly and the waiter asked when I show started which was very nice. We were served quickly and the food was very tasty.
I had the eggs benidect with regular bacon not Canadian. They were very open to change. Thanks. Looking forward to a return visit.
The food was good. The service could be improved. Servers should not interrupt patrons when patrons are in the middle of a conversation.
Consistently good! Really delicious food and my new go-to restaurant for pre-theatre.
I have always loved this place. Last night was a disaster—no service, slow for pre-theater, understaffed, overcharged , etc. very disappointed. Avoid weekends!!!!
Love this place near our office... and right in the middle of our after work activities in Times Square... management is always welcoming and the food/ service is high quality and professional. Will recommend to my friends and colleagues as a go-to favorite
Excellent food- price fixe pre-theatre
Beet salad- salmon- apple cinnamon bread pudding- sat near the window upstairs
Waiters knew to give us some time between courses and not be rushed- definitely would come back!!!
Great restaurant pre or post theater. Very convenient location. Very clean and good service.
I was thirlled to introduce a new young Broadway Theatre colleague to my favorite haunt. He promises to make it it his own. Best part of coming to the Glass House Tavern is the diversity of people and and the joy and revelerie that takes place around the bar. While you can stillhave a meeting dinner or lunch in the other sections of the resturant.
We always enjoy! Consistently good food and service.
Wonderful place with great service, delicious food and a perfect location!
Great for pre-theater lunch
quite good food, very flexible and accommodating staff!
Nice find for quick pre-theater meal, noise level a bit high
Elsie was amazing! We loved her!
We love the Glass House. It is civilized dining at a reasonable price. I recently had a great soup (stracciatella), the smoked salmon on avocado toast, and a lovely glass of Australian sauvignon blanc. My partner had, according to him, the best chicken club wrap ever. We are always greeted with a smile, the servers are attentive and we get to our show on time. We'll be back!
We had a wonderful table by the window. As always the food and service was great!!! This is my go to restaurant for lunch before my shows. I always recommend it!
