The Valentine's day menu was great. Scallops were perfectly prepared. The steak was juicy with great flavors and the dessert was icing on the cake. Will definitely come back.
The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive and considerate of the fact that we needed to attend a Broadway show right after dinner. They made sure to ask if we needed to be somewhere after dinner to ensure we were served in a timely fashion.
The price was as expected except for one item (Mac and cheese) recommended by the waitress, which we realized was double the cost of all sides on the menu. That was a bit of a surprise when we got the check. All in all, very nice experience and great location.
Pre theater dinner very accommodating with making sure we had ample time...we both modified menu items to accommodate diets and they did not flinch which is very much appreciated
If you have a show on 47th Street it's fabulous the waiters are skilled to watch the clock to get you out on time. The bar is lovely and spacious I think next time for a 7pm show will just eat at the bar menu which you can't get at the table Booooo It's a midtown upscale pub with midtown prices I had the salmon with either farro or another grain that was delicious friends all had the crabcakes as time was an issue. Loved our waiter sorry forgot his name had to be way over 60, and had the grace and style that can so be lacking in midtown restaurants. I'll go back when we see another show but will go early and hit the bar and the bar menu for better value
Fantastic food, location - quiet for a business lunch too.
Had large group, pre-theater matinee, during Restaurant Week, and the value ($28) for appetizers and entree, was a real bargain for such delicious food, wonderful ambience and excellent choices. Our table for 10 was situated by a cozy fire place and we never felt rushed or ignored. The service was excellent and professional. Everyone was really pleased and more than happy with their meals. We had vegans & vegetarians in the mix, too, and they were very satisfied with their selection. I highly recommend and will be returning!
Wonderful spot for brunch. They have a lot of great options. Service was excellent, despite it being very crowded.
Very nice restaurant with dining hours to accommodate theatre goers.
Location and very decent food. Staff cordial but overwhelmed. Seating per open table ALways excellent and reliable. it makes it a nice day at the theatre.
Our server, Rofaro, was excellent. Poised, friendly and fun. The ambience/decor was sophisticated and modern. Our party of four enjoyed the brunch menu and the drinks were strong! We plan another visit with a larger party in March.
was here for restaurant week with a 3 course meal. the duck welllington and diver scallop appetizers were delicious. pork chop entree with apple bourbon chutney was amazing. the salmon was also good. would not recommend the butternut squash soup it was bland and like baby food, not a fan of the papparadelle with mushrooms and gorgonzola sauce. the warm chocolate cake and apple bread pudding were top picks, could only handle one bite of the panna cotta.
Enjoyed Restaurant week in NYC with the dinner choices on the menu. The organic greens was absolutely delicious and the pork chops juicy and tender. Can never go wrong with the chocolate cake! The butternut squash soup was hearty and the salmon cooked just right!
Absolutely amazing food! Loved the design of the restaurant as well.
Great experience. We took advantage of their restaurant week menu. I was disappointed in the bread pudding. Thought it was a bit dry. The Duck Wellington appetizer was wonderful as was the salmon entree, although the portions may have been a bit small for a big eater.
Our waitress was very considerate to the fact that our son had limited time in order to get to a class and was sure he was served in a timely
Very good food and service. Lunch before the theater. You’ll need a reservation on Wednesday for pre-show time. Lovely decor.
Ordered the pork chop. Was really special. Service here was outstanding. I would definitely return when I am in NYC again.
Glass Hose Tavern is a reliable place for a meal, especially after the theater because the kitchen is open late for the main menu, although the bar menu is very good.
Service is very good and friendly. The food is very good. And the prices are very reasonable. The noise level at the bar is loud but you can have a conversation in one of the dining rooms without shouting. This is a favorite place to go.
we've been to glass house many times over the years and enjoyed it each and every time. It is a perfect spot for either before or after a theatre date! Food is wonderful and the service great. would recommend it wholeheartedly!
I ordered the pork chop and it was one of the best I’ve had in a long time! Great place before or after a show.
Pre-theater dinner. Nice menu, very accommodating to make curtain.
Food was delicious, the server very friendly and efficient.
there was nothing exceptional about the glasshouse tavern.this was my second meal there....i hoped the last time was an anomaly... the bread was stale, the salad was good, the salmon was tasty but tepid.
it happened to be restaurant week when we went so we saved money on our meal.
i would not go back or recommend it to a friend
Visited the Glass House Tavern for a 6:30 dinner. Our server got us drinks and said it would be a few minutes before he could take our order because he was very busy help others who were planning to attend various shows. We didn’t mind and enjoyed a leisurely dinner from the restaurant week menu. Everything was excellent. Although this was our first visit, we do plan to return.
I’d come back
My sister and I decided to lunch prior to our theatre performance and the minute we entered the restaurant, we felt like we made a great choice. The host was friendly, our waiter was just as fantastic, and the food was outstanding. I ordered the Mixner's Crispy Chicken salad that combined just the right amount of chicken, roquefort cheese, pecans, and other salad goodies topped with a maple vinaigrette. Delicious! My sister had a Chopped Kale Caesar with chicken, and also enjoyed her salad like I did mine. Very filling, generous portions. We plan on taking in more Broadway shows, and will revisit this restaurant when we do.
I have been to Glass House Tavern a few times and I always have an enjoyable meal. It was a good place for a nice, quiet lunch.
Table was available at the reservation time. Table was a little tight for two people. Food was good as was service. Server did ask if we had show tickets and for what time- that was appreciated. Would go back again.
Waitress was not attentive. Slow service.
Was extremely disappointed, had heard many good reviews, was looking forward to brunch and as an added option Theatre week..Service very slow, food on one meal came out wrong, they tried again and still not acceptable.. I asked for the Brunch menu price fixed, waitress told us specials and then charged me ala cart.. May never try again..
Had a delicious brunch before going to an afternoon Broadway show. The arugula salad with pears was delicious! The salmon was also excellent. Great service. We will be back!
My husband and I went there after seeing a show and it was perfection! The food was amazing! Atmosphere was warm and inviting. I had a pork chop over polenta and panacotta for dessert. Both were AMAZING!! We will definitely be returning.
never disappoints us excellent go every time we see play
Service was not as good as usual. But food was very good.
Located adjacent to Brooks Atkinson theater—perfect for those seeing Waitress. Ambience is nice with a solid bar. Noise level wasn’t bad at all. Perfect for four of us to catch up and connect.
We were a group of 4 from Philadelphia that came in to NY for a show and chose this restaurant for the first time because of its proximity to the theater district but mostly for the good reviews it received on Open Table for its Pre-Theater Pre-fix lunch menu. So we were very disappointed to learn that the restaurant's usual pre-fix lunch menu was not available as it was Restaurant Week and that only an appetizer and entree would be included in the price with an extra charge of $6 if we wanted dessert. Our server seemed annoyed that we asked about the pre-fix menu and proceeded to tell us that "if we were in Germany, we would be charged even for the lemon and our water. Totally inappropriate and unprofessional! We did enjoy the food that we ordered and were served in plenty of time to make our show. But don't think we will be back...
good option for where it is located. food is reasonably priced for ny but not great. great service, bar scene looked good. would still recommend for an option in a very touristy area.
This is becoming one of my favorite restaurants in the theater district. If you are seated upstairs, it is quiet enough to have a pleasant conversation during your meal. The prices are a little steep, but the portions are generous. There are excellent vegetarian choices in addition to the other menu items. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. The waiter was pleasant and helpful.
We went to Glass House for a pre theatre dinner before Hamilton. What a gem this place is! The food was fantastic, as was the service! This will be a new go to when we’re in the Broadway/Times Square area. Definitely go and try it if you haven’t. Their pricing fine meal is a great value.
Set in the midst of the theaters, Glass House Tavern was really quite good. The food was interesting and well-prepared, and our server was terrific. This is not high gourmet, but it is far better than the usual pre-theater place. We sat upstairs, which is a very nice, airy room (downstairs is a quite crowded and noisy bar area).
