Portions were small, service was average. Nothing spectacular
Lovely atmosphere and decor. Staff was attentive. Brunch menu had just enough choices. Food was delicious. Would definitely go back
FOOD AND WINE WERE EXCELLENT! I WILLL RETURN! THE SERVICE WAS ATTENTIVE AND HELPFUL.
Noise level in the bar area for dinner is really high. Food was good -nothing exceptional nor memorable. I was expecting more based on friends who have been there and the reviews.
Not the best experience but manager made it right.
Sat upstairs, very attentive service. Food was so-so: I had quiche which was undercooked. 2 other guests had cold shrimp salad, 1 liked it and the other did not.
We weren’t rushed which was nice. After ordering dessert, it took some time for it to arrive (pie and gelato) but both were excellent!
This is a fabulous restaurant. Excellent service and delicious, creative cuisine. My favorite place to dine in the theater district.
Glass House Tavern is our GO TO ... ALWAYS for going to the Theatre. Service is ALWAYS great and the food is ALWAYS and consistently wonderful. Is it the most creative and forward cuisine?... no... but it is always delicious, cooked perfectly, and never disappointing. Cant say enough about how consistently wonderful Glass House Tavern is.
My friend ordered the salmon and was very happy. I found the red snapper special disappointing. The fish was over-cooked with skin present on top. Vegetables were also over- cooked, and pineapple in sauce was distracting. The peach pie we shared was marvelous. Service was fine. Would not return.
My husband and I were visiting NYC and after doing a quick google search we thought we’d try The Glass House Tavern as it was close to the theatre. We loved it! They had a full gluten free menu with a variety of choices. Both our meals including desserts were fabulous! I got to have French fries and dessert, which is rare when you cannot eat gluten! The entire staff could not have been any nicer and more accommodating! Overall, it was a very satisfying experience and we will definitely be back the next time we’re in NYC!
The food was delicious, but it is a bit pricey for a nice meal. Very convenient location! We went after a show on Sunday and it was pretty empty.
Great location for theater & for easy walk from Penn & Grand Central Station. Very welcoming & friendly & accommodating hosts. Food great . Have been many times, never disappointed.
We had a ladies day out, brunch and a show. The food was delicious. Especially the raisin brioche French toast. Plenty of good hot coffee. Would definitely go again!
Perfect place for a pre-theatre dinner!! Food was fabulous!!
Delicious food, wonderful service and close to Brooks Atkinson theatre!
THE FOOD WAS DISGUSTING. THE CHEF’s SALAD TASTED AND LOOKED AS THOUGH IT CAME FROM THE SALAD GARBAGE BIN. The icecream selection was limited to cinnamon, chocolate and strawberry. Chose strawberry which arrived with no garnish. Altogether a very disappointing experience. Previously visits had been a positive experience.
I took my daughter and her best friend for brunch before a matinee. This was a pre-birthday gift. Our waitress was amazing and on top of that, arranged for a warm piece of chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream and a candle! Perfect experience!
We had a pre-theater dinner. Food was good and service was average. They gave us a very small table in the "casual" part of the dining area with 4 additional tables smack up against us. The more formal side of the restaurant was close to empty. Wine list is limited and they have a selection of 3 375ml bottles only.
We had time to kill and possibly spent some time there and ordered a full bottle of wine if we had a better table but decided to eat and get out of there. The positive takeaway is the food is decent and you are a 5 minute walk to Broadway.
An Excellent night out
Our last night in NYC we wanted a nice restaurant with wine, not fast food. This fit the bill. Surprisingly they only offer half bottles of wine but this worked out as we shared a half bottle of the $70 Stag's Leap Artemis we never would have had otherwise.
They offer the $42 prix fixe even when the theaters have started and it's great. Watermelon salad and sausage polenta for starters. I paid $9 more for my filet mignon which was excellent. The spaghetti seafood was too. Desserts were ok, with chocolate cake and bread pudding.
Service was a bit slow and we had to ask for water and bread but we were the only table in our quieter area. The bar is very noisy.
Pre theater dinner with 8 people. Everyone thanked me for picking this restaurant. Food was excellent, ambience was comfortable and elegant. Service could have been a tad better. People who ordered pix fix really didn’t have time for dessert.
But definitely going again and so are the other guests.
We reserved the Glass House Tavern for a pre show meal. The dining area was very chic and added to the ambiance. It was a quiet oasis away from the madness of Broadway. Food was equally good. Crab tempura then filet mignon cooked to perfection and perhaps the best meal we ate whilst in New York. Would definitely recommend.
Convenient to theater. Good variety. Has a vegan option. A bit overpriced, but it is NYC
We were early for our reservation and they went out of their way to seat us early (an hour early). Was not rushed and the the food was delicious!
Well located, good food. Surprisingly uncrowded for pre-theater lunch. Will go back.
Service was slow and food over priced. Wife got an omelet for $17 and was something i get at dinner for $7.00. No one really enjoyed meal, but was convenient to theatre district.
Whenever we come to the city for a show our first stop is the Glass House Tavern. From the warm and friendly greeting upon our arrival to the wonderful food and excellent service it has become our go to place.
Noel thank you so much for your hospitality! I love your place, my group from California was delighted! Food was excellent our server was very attentive. We felt special. Coming back with more groups and we will park our feet under your table anytime. Mz Liz
Five family members ate pre-theater lunch yesterday, during restaurant week! One in our party was newly disabled. The management quickly adjusted our table and accommodated our party without a problem. Moreover, the food was outstanding, the service was friendly, professional and very timely. We simply had to walk around the corner for the theater, which topped it off. It started our day at the theater on the best foot! Can't rave enough...highly recommend!
Great location for the theater goers and space is very inviting and not noisy. Sophisticated yet casual and the food is very good. A little pricey.
They offered Restaurant Week lunch through Labor Day and it was very enjoyable.
Pre theater lunch arrived early no problem getting seated
Prompt service good food
Would definitely go there again!
Low quality ingredients. Overpriced. Service akin to an Applebee’s
My granddaughter and I had a light lunch before the theater. Although we arrived early, they were accommodating and seated us. It was my granddaughter’s 12th birthday and they brought out a dessert with a candle. Service was excellent
Party of 8 Celebrated 2 birthdays Sunday noon rezzie before “Waitress” show next door. Only 2 of us arrived on time with 4 stuck in Tunnel traffic and 2 who had time wrong. Nonetheless, everyone was seated promptly upon arrival and treated kindly and respectfully. The maitre d’ was so kind as we were feeling terrible about being late and gave our table all the time we needed to eat, drink and chat. He also offered to photograph our whole group and took the time to position us properly. Great pix. So... the specialty cocktails were all Delicious. We tried several. Soup, salads, entrees, specials....all excellent. Cappuccino de leche superb! We would return in a heartbeat!
Our lunch was superb! Quiches, salad and Cuban sandwich.
We all will return!
Most accommodating, excellent service, lovely menu selection all of which was well prepared, fresh and delicious!
Nice location. Good food. Miss their prix fix menu for lunch. Now it is additional for dessert. But it’s still great food at a convenient location. Wait staff was great.
Excellent pretheater choice. Everyone enjoyed duck, pasta and fish entrees. Appetizers all tasty and ample. Service not rushed but right on time for theater.
The Glass House has a terrific New York Restaurant menu. Loved the salmon, watermelon salad and excellent pana cotti. The trout also great. So great a location in the middle of the theater district
We had a pre theater dinner. It was delicious. I would definitely go back.
