Gladstone's Long Beach Ratings and Reviews
It was valentienes day so I had high expectations for the venue. And the entire night you did not disappoint. My first time being there and my girlfriend as well we both enjoyed the night. 5 stars if I had one complaint though; the straws were horrible. It was like paper breaking down each time I took a sip of my drink.
By far the worst dining experience ever. Horrible service! If it weren't for Christian ( he noticed that our server hadn't even brought us a glass of water for over 20 minutes and helped us). The MGR ( Red top wanta be blond with glasses) is a disaster of a Mgr. Food looked like crap! I would never send out a plate like they gave to my wife at a backyard BBQ. This WAS my wifes favorite restaurant! And this on Valentines Day. Thank You for making my wifes evening a horrible one!!!!!! You will not see us or anyone else that I know again. I am 3rd gen LB and know many people. I wasn't going to write a review, but you guy's emailed me for my opinion!!!!
Took my honey here for Valentine’s Day and he loved it. The atmosphere was amazing and the food was delicious. Service was a little slow, I’m sure it was because it was Valentine’s Day. I would also recommend that you sit inside during the winter because even with the heat lamps it gets a little chilly at night outside. Overall the experience was great.
I was visiting Long Beach and seeing the location and menu, made a reservation before my flight took off. After a 4.5 hour flight and one hour drive, I was looking forward to a good meal. The place looked good from outside and inside but the overall experience was terrible. I reached at 8 pm when they were not too busy. Yet, the server was very very slow and inattentive. She showed up once every 15 minutes to take my order, get my drink, get my food and then the check. No pleasentries, no asking about food quality and in general lack of attention. On top of that, the wood grilled halibut was very bland and tasteless. Presentation was no great shakes either. Especially for the price, I expected a lot more from the dining experience and walked out very disappointed. I travel frequently for business and this was definitely in the bottom 10% of my list.
I had a serious problem with the Lobster and Crap Augratin. I did not expect Gladstones to serve Velveta...if it was not it was definitely some other "cheese product". It should be taken off of the menu. A restaurant such as Gladstones should not use fake cheese in their kitchen.
I saw the other food coming out of the kitchen and desperately wish I would have ordered something else.
Very nice outdoor patio seating with view of the Queen Mary. Lovely for a relaxing afternoon lunch in a nice environment, food is consistently good for a Gladstone's chain. Good area for strolling, people watching, shopping, and visiting the Aquarium of the Pacific.
Excellent service staff. We were both very pleased with our menu choice.
I look forward to returning .
Additionally, we are not "Bar Scene/Sports" people; on the night we dined the TV over the bar outside was on a sports channel but it was not overwhelming. We were seated outside under shelter near the bar.
The food was good, but we waited after they seated us at our table for 20-30 min before they even took our drink order. When I told the waitress we had been waiting and she didnt believe me and mumbled something I couldn’t hear ( probably rude). We then were waiting for them to take our food order which also took forever. Keep in mind the place was not busy. By the end when we got our check they had overcharged us a bottle of wine. Honestly the whole experience was terrible! I would never go back!
We came to celebrate a birthday. I made reservations and noted it was a birthday. Close to end of our meal, I reminded front desk again this was a birthday. We never were approached again after bill paid and never celebrated the birthday as I asked.
Also , are waitress was good, but not once would ever smile or look friendly.
We sat on the patio with a view of the harbor and fireworks, which was great....until the 4 heaters surrounding our table made it so hot it melted the butter on our table. After numerous requests to turn off the 2 overhead heaters they finally did, but soon turned them on again, making it extremely uncomfortable once again. We rushed through our meal so we could escape the extreme heat. Other than that, service was good and food was good.
Very disappointed with the food.
Thai calamari was interesting but the clam chowder I would not order again.
My wife ordered the swordfish and I ordered the seafood linguini becsuse it got great reviews but We did not like it and we will not come back to Gladstones.
Really a lovely location. It was Christmas eve and the patio was nice. Cool but heaters and fire pits. The service was good and a variety of menu items. The lobster deviled eggs were great. The manager came by to say hello and that's always a nice touch.
We hadn't been there for a few years. The parking situation is much improved.
The service could have been better. We always have to get someone’s attention to get our water. Our table was unsteady, we asked to be re-located, they insisted on fixing it but it came to a point that we felt that they just don’t want to do anything. We felt like they were so busy that they want us out of there. They took the plate when my brother was still eating. He have to tell her that his still eating. When it comes to the bill, there were there in an instant. I have never experienced this kind of dining before, so disappointing.
