Server was very nice but the food was not the best, mashed potatoes were bad shrimp was over cooked, and for a seafood restaurant it was the worst crab cake I have ever had. A large party next to my table was crowding the aisle impeding on our space and being very loud. So overall not the best.

The food was ok, not as good as I remembered. The view there is priceless and made up for that. The service was good but we had an annoying experience with the photo girl. When she brought the $15 “complimentary” photo to look at to purchase I looked at them and clearly said no thank you. She then tried to hand them to my husband over me to look at I looked at her and told her I make the decisions on these things I said no. It was very rude. Other restaurants actually do complimentary photos, she should have said up front it was $15 I would have said no then.

Good place for reasonably priced good Thanksgiving Day turkey meal. Only issue for us is the acoustics make the sound level a bit high for our tastes since we like it pretty quiet.

We had the best lunch today celebrating a birthday. We sat outside by the water and it was a beautiful day. Our server Michael was one of the best we ever had anywhere. And we have been to a lot of places. He knew the menu well, had great suggestions and was so helpful and attentive throughout our meal. And attentive not just to our table…a real pro! The seafood linguine was so good, and the birthday girl had ribs and was in heaven. Add in a great wine list and a delicious piece of chocolate cake we all shared…who could ask for more? Thank you! Kudos to Scott the manager for such a well run place!

This was my first time to Gladstone's, but I heard good things about it and wanted to take a friend there for a special occasion. Making reservations was super easy using OpenTable on the Gladstone's web site. Parking is a challenge, but for only $8, I used their valet service, and really, especially for Long Beach, you can't beat that. Don't even try to find parking elsewhere - just use their valet. When we walked up to the hostess stand, we were promptly greeted by a very friendly hostess. She was all smiles, very welcoming, and showed us to a great table outside which overlooked the Queen Mary - a great view! We were very promptly greeted at the table by our server, James. James took our drink orders, made some recommendations for appetizers and entrees, and off he went. The only issue with James all evening was that he appeared to have the entire outside dining area to himself and, while it wasn't super busy, they definitely needed more than one server out there. As a result, we had frequent delays throughout the meal, including the need to actually stop eating as we had nothing to drink. It wasn't James's fault, but it definitely impacted the overall experience. We ordered coconut shrimp and clam chowder for appetizers. The chowder was amazing - very creamy and delicious. The shrimp, typically one of my favorite dishes elsewhere, were extraordinarily greasy. In fact, as I bit into the shrimp, liquid grease from the frying process actually dribbled out. Honestly, it was a bit gross...kind of like eating bacon before it has drained off the grease. So, it was a NO on the shrimp. My impression was that someone had failed to let them drain long enough before bringing them to the table. The entrees were amazing and made up for the shrimp. We ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Seafood Trio. My friend said that the Mac & Cheese was "luxurious and decadent" - high praise indeed. The trio dish was also very good. Good value for a good meal - about $75 each.

Overall this was among the worst meals I have had in decades. Initial seating was nice. Initial service was good. But it quickly went downhill. I suppose when the wait staff figured out I was a solo guest it was all over. The Thai Calamari was decent, although eventually came across too sweet. It was also from frozen. The crab cakes were simply dreadful. I could not eat them. Clearly not fresh, not jumbo lump crab as advertised. After I quit eating, it took the waiter at least 20 minutes to return and ask if I needed anything else, and to brink my check. Such a disappointment. Long John Silvers would have been a better meal.

My experience at Gladstone’s Long Beach was upsetting. My party was sat and the server came over and ask about our drinks and app. Our drink came and it took about 15 min for our app to come out the person who dropped stated he had been lost. My disappointment comes in is our server never came back to the table to check on us or take our meal order. I even had to walk to him to get the check. I’d say the price you pay for the serving size is a bit imbalanced. I enjoyed the Boston Clam Chowder but I don’t think I’d pay $11 for it again. I also enjoyed the flavor of the “blackened swordfish but when there is a choice between grilled and blackened - it shouldn’t be obvious they just throw a bit of seasoning on the grilled swordfish and call it a day. There was also a total of 4 green beans and 1 piece of broccoli as the veggie side. The plastic glasses they serve water in are also very worn and the size of their spoons feel like you’re putting a shovel in your mouth. All over not a “bad” place to go but I’ve dined at restaurants more reasonably priced for a better dining experience. Also didn’t enjoy being called “girls” by the waiter every time he addressed my mother and me. I’m not a tween, I’m a grown woman and it felt very odd. It felt odd that he mentioned the chef had just been fired too - “so who’s doing all the cooking?” I won’t be returning, again not because it was “bad” but I enjoy an elevated dining experience when I choose to go out. Especially at that price point.

We picked this location for view and ability to converse easily. I felt the music was a bit loud inside but figured it was set at that level for larger crowds and/or outside seating. Did make it a bit difficult for conversation!

We arrived early and they were able to seat us before our reservation time. It was a Sunday evening and they were not busy at all. Service was so slow. Food came out cold and was nothing great. The vodka lemonade was amazing.

Wonderful restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, but also a fun place to watch a game. Our server, Evelyn, was great, right on top of everything, answering our questions and checking to make sure we were happy with everything. We ordered Calamari, Chilean Sea Bass and Macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi. Everything was prepared with the utmost care and tasted great. The atmosphere was quiet and we loved being able to have a conversation. Great anniversary celebration.

Unfortunately the food was literally cold when it was served. Not not hot, not even lukewarm, but cold. The award-winning clam chowder was a gloppy tepid experience. And the globe of mashed potatoes with the ribs inedible. The service was the only saving grace here.

The service was great. The food was mediocre at best. And all we had was soup and salad and calamari. We sat outside and it was weird that all the benches were all sideways and stuff. $150 and that’s what you get… kind of disappointing.

The food was awful. The only good things we had were drinks and the poke nachos. Our entrees were terrible. The chicken was extremely gamey, the skin on the chicken was like rubber, side of corn looked like it sat out for two days. Seafood trio was so bland, and the crab cake was soggy.

Waiter was nice but slow. Ambiance was terrible - it looked like a fast casual restaurant, but at nice restaurant prices. Fish was so salty I couldn't eat it, but the service was so slow that I didn't ask for something else. The only nice aspect was its location near the water.

I hosted a customer lunch at Gladstone's three days in a row. Although I am NOT a fish fan, the service and (other) food is great. Those in my party eating fish, loved it.
