Service was awesome. Only awesome thing about the restaurant. Food playing looked rushed and sloppy, pairing of sauces and food flavors not complimentary, and took forever to get the food. Found other places in town with much better food for less money. It was also very loud inside.
Family visit from out of state.
One of the Best Herb Halibut dishes I have ever had. Delicious!
I am a regular visitor here. It is interesting to see the difference between winter and summer performance of Anchorage restaurants. As the tourist season kicks in, and the town transforms its self into a busy hub, everything flourishes. Employment booms, with the hiring of temporary staff to cope with the increased demand.
There is understandibly a transition period as new staff settle in. Thats where we are at now.
Brewhouse was busy (book in advance!). Table service friendly and reasonably efficient, but the kitchen struggled to keep up. Food delivery took a little longer than expected, as a result food presentation was not as good as usual (too long sitting on plate time).
As the salmon season kicks in, a greater quantity of fresh produce should appear on the menu.
Of course what does not change is the beer selection. Good as always.
Not my best visit to this iconic restaurant, but I will be back next month for sure.
Certainly the best brew pub in Alaska. As the season allows, they source locally for salmon and some vegetables. Alaska has limited agriculture but Glacier Brewhouse makes the most of what is available.
The smoked salmon is incredible and the rotisserie chicken is even better IMHO.
A true brew pub with house beer and a robust offering of premium spirits.
Most dishes are around $25 which is an excellent value considering meals in Anchorage cost significantly more than comparable meals in the 48.
Great experience. Will definitely recommend and will go again.
Great place to take visitors. Very consistent food and a nice set of craft beers to choose from. Can be a little loud. Try Orso their sister restaurant for similar food but quieter venue.
Small portions of fish for the price you pay but delicious. Wish got more food for the price.
Reserved a table for my son's graduation dinner, only for there to be no evidence of a celebration. In other words, it doesn't matter if your reservation is for a special occasion or not. Waitress was nice, personable but very slow. Slow to check if we needed drink refills, slow to come to our table to take our order. Ordered our appetizers-calamari and pretzels with ale cheese. Pretzels with the ale cheese-delicious. Calamari would have been great, crispy etc if it was not slathered all over with the sauce. This left it soggy. Yuck! Steak, still mooing and was super gristly and fatty. Couldn't even chew it. Crispy onions would have been great if they weren't slathered with sauce, which of course led them to be soggy. Burgers were too dry. Sauce on ribs tasted suspiciously like plain ketchup. Ahi tuna was very enthusiastically peppered. All in all, I would not go here again. It feels like it's suddenly went downhill from what it used to be. Waitress didn't even come to our table to ask about our experience until near time to give us the check. Highly disappointed and will look elsewhere in the future.
The kitchen staff is lazy and irresponsible. I ordered their salmon BLT salad but substituted for chicken instead. It appeared that all was ok until I started eating my salad and found chunks of salmon. They had made a mistake by putting salmon in my salad and instead of making a new salad, they just picked out the salmon and weren’t even successful at that.
Excellent consistently good food and service. One of best downtown.
Our waitress was very helpful in accommodating our dietary needs. Everything was great!!
I visit Glacier Brewhouse once per month when transiting Anchorage.
The tourist season is now starting so definitely worth booking well in advance, though the staff are very helpful trying to fit you in when needed. Obviously a big group would be more of a challenge.
The food was good as always. I do tend to order the same things each time, which actually is a hame because the menu has plenty of variety. Fresh seafood is certainly something to look forwards to during the summer months.
The craft beers are well worth a tasting.
Extra staff have been taken on for the season and all seem willing and able.
All in all, another very pleasant evening at the BrewHouse.
This is the second time in a row we have had a reservation and havn't been sat for over 30 min past the reservation time. The menu has remained the same for years and I am not compelled to go back as I am bored with those choices. The server did her best but seemed stretched thin and was tough to find through out dinner. This was only a Tuesday night and tourist season hasn't quite hit yet.
The beer is still good. I wish there were more good points to say. I don't think we will be back anytime soon.
It was very busy for a tuesday but the girl who took care of us was nice. Would be better if we have the small room instead being all in a suppose to be 10 people table but is more like 8 than 10.
My wife and I generally enjoy dining at the Glacier Brewhouse. This time we brought our teenage son to celebrate his birthday. He was genuinely hungry and enjoyed his meal. Our server was so-so, and my chicken sandwich was only okay. Despite these drawbacks, we will return because we know every restaurant has its good and bad days.
We truly miss the complementary fresh-baked bread that was previously served before the meal. My understanding is too much bread was being wasted by patrons. I believe rather than completely do away with the bread option, it would be better if the GB provided each table with complementary bread if one of the patrons requests it. Completely doing away with the bread was a mistake.
This is one of my favorite places for special occasions, food and service are excellent.
We were promptly taken to our table and greeted. We found somebody else’s lipstick on our water glass. Our server left us sitting frequently throughout the meal. The food was good but the service and cleanliness was lacking. For my first visit as a local I don’t know that I will be back.
Overall service was great. Morgan was our server and she was awesome. I will be back.
Good drinks! I would recommend trying their beers and their ribs! Very loud after 5PM or on the weekends.
We were seated and the waiter was a charming young man who was new. We ordered an appetizer and the main meal. The appetizer came in and then we waited 45 minutes for our meal. When we asked, frustrated already, they said there was an issue with the ticket, but for those minutes no one came to ask how we were doing or explain why the food was taking so long. We were getting up to leave when the food arrived. There was a couple that came 15 minutes after us and they were served the same food we had asked and by the time we got our meal they were done with theirs (just to give you an idea). We were very upset since this restaurant is not cheap. We like the food there, but I’m not sure we I’ll come back.
Thanks for a great night. My husband and I love celebrating at the brew house, it’s one of our favorite places. The food is always great, the staff is fun, and we love the drink selection.
The food was amazing, the service was fabulous definitely a go to
The best, as usual. Thank you Glacier Brewhouse!
One of my favorite restaurants to dine at when I travel to Anchorage. The food is excellent and the service is second to none!
Visited twice - ok for lunch, dinner was a disappointment.
Our server was amazing. She went above and beyond to cater to us.
Food was expensive but nothing to get excited about. Service was fine. Booths were cramped. Probably will not return.
Glacier BrewHouse is our favorite go-to restaurant in Anchorage.
My wife ordered the rib dinner and the ribs were almost as cold as they had just pulled them out of the fridge, I ordered the rotisserie chicken dinner and while the chicken was moderately warm (not hot), the potatoes and the carrots were maybe room temperature. We sent the ribs back and kept the chicken which of course ruins the dining experience. Nothing was offered to resolve the situation, they simply gave us the bill and thanked us for coming (which will never happen again).
We love the place, the beer is great as are the Margaritas. The food is good to great but we wish the menu would vary a bit more. One of us had the petite fillet which was outstanding. The other dish was the crab stuffed cod. Not quite as good, tasted good but cod was mushy and I couldn’t find the crab. Overall worth it and the ambiance is great. We’ll be back.
The food was great and the environment was very friendly.
While the service was great, the noise level as well as the congestion diminished the overall experience. I ordered the fresh Halibut and was disappointed with the portion size. It was on the small size and that was u underwhelming. For the price levied I would have expected more. It was cooked well but bump up the portion size guys to warrant the price asked. We also had the calamari, again the size of the plate seemed smaller than previous visits. Best in town but you guys can offer more value for thw price.
We love the calamari appetizer.....We love their salads and their soups and that is dinner. Can’t go wrong. Great choice of beers. Staff superb. Attentive and respectful. Great reliable place every time we go to anchorage !!
Great venue for a private gathering. Great selection of beverages and the food was good too. However, no blue cheese dressing for the buffalo wings :(
The service was ok. The food was under- whelming for the price. Bland, bland, bland. The dessert tasted like it had sat the door days and the raisins were allowed to plump back up to grapes, gross. The steaks were cooked ok, but had zero seasoning. The vegetables are steamed to death. So loud, conversation is not possible. Very disappointed, will not return.
We love coming here because they have a great variety of food and can please just about everyone. This time we had the unlucky appetizer in that our bread for our salmon dip came to the table burnt. I also felt like the bread and my broccolini had been cooked with some type of gas stove or something. It almost had a propane taste. They also served my meal with a salad as a side on the plate but then put it under the heat lamps before it came to my table so was slightly wilted and warm when it was a cold salad. The halibut was phenomenal. Waitress was very friendly.
This was an awesome experience. We’ve been here before and always love this place. The only strange part was our waitress didn’t bring us back our change (we paid with cash) so we had to try and figure out a tip including the change she kept. 🤷🏻♀️
