Glacier BrewHouse Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately, our waiter was rude and abrupt this evening. He was slow to care for us but sure was fast to find us when we gave him a 50 gift card and didn't realize there was only 27 left on it. My food was undercooked and when I asked if this was how it was suppose to look - he bearly looked at it and said yup.
Won't be back.
The steak was under cooked they gave me someone else’s plate they ordered with no blue cheese so they took mine back to cook steak longer and it was still raw just sauce poured over it. I was told they had a new chef and that was a mistake on their part, they changed a few items on the menu and now it’s very disappointing
One our sons was home on leave and he requested a BrewHouse visit for his final evening in town. That says something right there when a long-time Alaskan chooses a specific place. Happily, as usual, they performed well and will retain their top dog reputation in our family, anyway. The beer was good as always, my wife’s salad was great (not quite enough avocado initially but the server promptly remedied that) and my son’s grilled salmon was proof that his disdain for non-Alaska salmon is fully justified. Overall, a wonderful experience.
When I tried to make reservations the front reception desk was not helpful at all, mixed answers depending on who I spoke with. I was told there were no tables, I went online and got a reservation right away.
I had the blue salad with a plain grilled piece of halibut on top; I have eaten this same meal many, many times there and this time it was terrible!! I did not say anything as this was a company event and didn't want to put a downer on it. I do make the reservations for our events and will not be choosing Glacier Brewhouse again for a while. The halibut had no flavor, obviously sat for a while before being brought out, cold, mushy. They put all the core pieces of the cabbage on my salad, I could hardly chew them (remember I've had this many times there before), not near enough dressing. I was very disappointed.
I had been to the Glacier Brew House several times. Go there to the bar and enjoy their excellent brew.
We were there for our son’s birthday (over the age of 30). We got the slowest service. Unfortunately, we had this waitress before. Albeit extremely intelligent, she was very affected with her mannerisms and I thought she should be in a meal theater group. Unfortunately, We had this waitress before. We waited15 minutes to get water, I believe the head waiter asked us if we needed something, “yes, water please “. He brought us water and bread with balsamic vinegar and oil. Waitress returns we order our beverages, “very simple wine and beer”, 15 minutes later she brings them. My order was incorrect and again, she was lovely, but SLOW. I appreciate fine dining, I am 58 years old and have experience many restaurants, but the Glacier Brew House food is mediocre, service is terrible, location is great, beer is great, but for this woman I only go when I have to go there.
We took our friend to the Glacier Brewhouse to celebrate her birthday. We had reservations for 6:30 on Saturday evening (2/10/18) and were promptly seated upon arrival. We first split an order of fried Calamari which was excellent. Our entrees were also excellent! My wife had the Top sirloin steak special, our friend had the Flat Iron steak which were both cooked exactly as ordered! I had the Jamaican rubbed baby back ribs which were seasoned and cooked perfectly and were "fall off the bone" good! We then split a complimentary order of the Brewhouse's famous Peanut Butter pie for dessert...Delicious!
A special shout out to our server, Abbygail! She was on top of it all evening in making sure that we had everything we needed, including some strawberries for our friend's glasses of champagne!!
Overall, the "Brewhouse" did not disappoint! It was an evening of great food, AWESOME service and a wonderful evening out to celebrate our friend's birthday!
We had a very rude waitress named Jazzmin. Very sarcastic and just all around unpleasant server. I've never had anyone so rude in my past experience at the brew house. I've only ever had great service and great food. This server really made our whole tables experience a bad one. 😕
The occasion was my wife's birthday. BrewHouse is her favorite place to eat.
Table was waiting for us, service was excellent, food was great, and as always, both of us took home boxes. I did not get the name of our server, but she was very attentive, beyond what I would have expected. Very enjoyable evening.
Whenever I bring my daughter to the PAC, we like to start at the Brewhouse. Unfortunately, this visit was sub-par. The food was cold, the order took longer than expected, and the waitress would forget some of our simple requests and would disappear for a while. I'm glad I booked the reservations early otherwise we would have been rushed to get off to our show.
The house nachos were just gross! Food has consistently gone downhill over the years. I was embarrassed to have brought my out of town guests here. Do not order ANYTHING with house cheese sauce, it's gritty and inedible. Dessert is usually safe, but skip the main courses, and skip the cocktails.
Glacier Brewhouse restaurant is a hot spot in downtown Anchorage, Alaska- conveniently located near the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, Holy Family Cathedral and Town Square. The ambiance is active, and due to the high ceiling design, the noise level is usually high. This may be welcoming, and also quite distracting especially when trying to make conversation during the meal. We were a party of 5 with reservations on a Tuesday-early evening. The salads are usually a hit. The plating on this particular evening with the rotisserie chicken was messy and had the slinging hash in a diner look. 2 of our group ordered it, one was undercooked and quite difficult to eat. The beer is popular here, but one type was sold out. The prices are quite high which would be acceptable if the quality was consistent. Considering our experience, it is doubtful that we will make this a regular stop.
We went at 8:30 on a winter Saturday night and we didn’t get good service, our food was cold. Pretty sure our server forgot about us, saw her several times around the restaurant but she failed to see to our food or tell us why it took over an hour for a medium steak and pepperoni pizza?! Drinks were good but never got an offer for another.... not worth the $80 for two people! Won’t be returning, maybe during the summer tourist season it’s better service but i am not interested in finding out. We thought by going later on a Saturday we would be better situated but it was really disappointing and frustrating....
My ribeye was over done on one side, perfect on the other. Left a burnt taste in my mouth. Very disappointed. Won't order again. My friend got the rockfish. Would have better just simply grilled and seasoned, but it was OK. I would not recommend it to anyone. The calamari appetizer however was AMAZING. The best I've ever had. This would be the only reason I would recommend it to anyone. I would tell them go for the calamari, order one per person and eat the free bread. That is more than enough to fill you up. Again, it was incredible. Mai Tai's were great. Our server was superb.
We had a good meal prior to attending a symphony. The food was good, not extraordinary. The noise level is generally a problem if you want to have a conversation, but it is an energetic place. The service was good, but the kitchen was a little behind that evening, which was a problem for attending the performance. Overall, a good restaurant if you don't have to be somewhere later.
The service was the worst here I have ever experienced since they opened the restaurant. I had mad a reservation online and also confirmed by calling the restaurant. My business associates arrived early before me and the hostess sat them at a small booth at the bar. When I arrived I asked to be sat at a table or booth in the main restaurant. When we moved my business associates took the calamari appetizer with them and their one cup of coffee. When the hostess showed us to the new table we never got any water or bread. I had to go up to the hostess ten minutes after we finished the calamari to ask her to send a waiter/waitress to the table. Another five minutes the “substitute” waiter arrives and apologized for the delay. He took our food order but never asked if my associate needed a coffee refill. The food was good as usual. I had to ask the waiter if we could order dessert. I ordered the bread pudding but when it came there were only three spoons provided, I had to ask for extra plates. The waiter never asked if we wanted coffee with the dessert, which we did. finally when we were finished with dessert the waiter asked my associate if he wanted a coffee refill, which he did, but he never ask the rest of us if we wanted any victor anything else.
Food wasn’t all that great. My halibut was very dry and burnt. It was a first and last experience for me. Usually I don’t mind the crisp but this was more than that. Just thought that it would’ve been a great dinner given the hype I’ve heard in the past. But I should’ve changed my mind after reading the last reviews regarding the food, as the food was definitely not great at all.
There was bacon on both the sandwich and salad and too much of it at that. It was advertised on the salad as "BLT" salad but there was way too much and not enough tomato. The salmon sandwich was loaded with cream cheese not only in the salmon but also on the bread. The bread was overly buttered and the whole sandwich felt "heavy". The lettuce in the BLT salad was so covered with mayonaisse I couldn't even find the lettuce. In this over weight society people are turning to healthy foods. I did not just lose 30 pounds so I could turn into a blimp at one lunch at your establishment. You claim to be courting "young crowds" but don't even attempt it if you are not paying attention to fitness trends which have been in place now for many, many years. Lighten up your foods. See Spenard Roadhouse for "how to make a decent and healthy salad."
Our waitress was very very kind and accommodating. Unfortunately, I can't recall her name but she made our dining experience so great. We ended up staying a lot longer than I anticipated and was able to be flexible and we were not rushed on time. Backstory: we were a group of nurses and many joined after doing their 12+ hour shifts. We met for a coworkers birthday and our waitress and staff made our experience very memorable. I apologize we were so noisy but we had a really great time unwinding and enjoying the food. Thank you so much.
