Centrally located in downtown Anchorage, the BrewHouse is the ideal place to break for lunch, unwind over dinner or enjoy rounds of masterfully brewed beer and barleywine. The Glacier Brewhouse is proud to offer two private dining rooms to accommodate a wide variety of functions.
View Private Dining DetailsWe've been customers since the restaurant first opened, but the quality of their food has been decreasing over the past several years. We've decided not to return since there are many other better choices in Anchorage. Their salads were bland, smoked salmon was very poor quality, and their ice tea has been switched from fresh brewed to colored water from the tap. Looks like they are catering more to the summer tourist, but locals have better options.
Had friends from out of town and wanted to take them somewhere with great food and Glacier Brewhouse fit the bill! They were very impressed!
The calamari appetizer was delicious. So was the nut crusted rockfish. Service was attentive but not intrusive - perfect. We were pleasantly suprised with the dessert on the house for our special celebration. Cheese cake was rich and just right for sharing.
It was good. Great food & service
Fabulous atmosphere and great food. This was our first trip to Alaska and the drive from Fairbanks to Anchorage was beautiful! Glacier Brewhouse was on my list of restaurants to dine.
I've been going to the place for at least 10 years- never had a bad experience
We were one of the first tables to be sat on Sunday morning. It took over an hour to get our food while tables that had come in well after us had already ordered, eaten their food and were in the process of leaving. When the food finally arrived it was luke warm at best. You could tell that it sat under the heat lamp for a long period of time as the fruit that was a garnish on the plate was warm. My party of 8 was there to celebrate a birthday for a dear friend. Very disappointed in the food and service that was provided.
Food was mediocre and potatoes were cold. Server was not very knowledgeable about the beers and seemed like she was in a hurry and didn’t have any real opinions about any of the food or drinks. Also overheard two other servers complaining about tables which seemed pretty un-pro. Expected much better considering how much the place was talked up.
Always try to eat here while on business in Anchorage. Great service, food, and beer!
Excellent food and service
Seafood chowder is the best. French onion soup somewhat disappointing-had thin fried onions on top but ok. Too much cheese on top of a thick slice of bread which soaked up most of soup. Seared tuna was excellent and sauces went well with it.
My Ribs were room temperature and definitely not "fall of the bone tender"!
They were hard to cut with a steak knife. The slaw was not good. Someone in my group of 6 ordered the Rootbeer steak medium rare and it came out small and well done. The waitress took it back and brought a new one cooked perfectly but he had to sit there and watch us eat.
The salad with the shrimp had little if any dressing on it. Sad...guess there is a new cook?
Busy and loud at Sunday brunch but service and food were very good.
The food was delicious. I am never disappointed at Glacier BrewHouse. I had the seafood scramble which had salmon, shrimp, eggs, etc, potatoes on the side and some fresh fruit. really yummy. My boyfriend had the biscuits and gravy with chipotle grits and he devoured his.
Our meal was awesome! The Brewhouse is the best!
Server was friendly and knowledgeable about menu items.
Glacier Brewhouse always has amazing food and the service is incredible. This is a must-do on my list every time I I to Anchorage. Highly recommend!!!
My dad wanted Salmon and this was where everyone recommended we go - did not disappoint!
Fantastic as usual!
Food was mediocre, some items were over cooked. Long wait for food, didn’t have their best dessert ready, another 20-30 min wait if ordered. Overall just not good 2/5 meals fair to good, other 3 not so much. 1/2 appetizers were good. Advice sit in the bar get a drink and the calamari and stop there.
Ordered the Parmesan Macadamia Crusted Alaska Rockfish. It was bland and the risotto wasn't fully cooked. Really disappointed with it. However, others at the table ordered the rotisserie chicken and soup/salad combo and they were very happy with their choice.
The gf options make this one of the best places to eat in anchorage. Staff is knowledgeable of gf meals available. Only wish they made a gf beer.
Friendly service and amazing food.
I lovelovelove GB and take every opportunity to eat there. I have NEVER had anything I didn't just love.
I was very disappointed in the food this time around, usually it's very good. The potatoes were overcooked, the salmon tasted a little too fishy. My food was not very hot either.
Fantastic! Our waitress was great (Johnie?). We love the food and ambiance.
Liked the Bloody Mary bar and brunch menu. Sat for 10 minutes “waiting” for our reservation when there were lots of open tables.
I have been to Glacier Brew House several times when visiting Anchorage. It has always been very good but this time the food was disappointing. We started out with the Calamari which was very good but then things went down hill. My son ordered the Halibut which came enclosed in a crust that was soggy, like it had been cooked in a pan full of oil that wasn't hot enough. He didn't finish it and to the credit of our waiter he took it off the bill. I ordered the Salmon and asked for it medium rare. It was cooked properly but was way over-seasoned as were the new potatoes that accompanied it. There was so much salt that nothing really had much flavor. I am hoping this was an off night because we have always enjoyed this restaurant.
Food was pretty good, as was the service.
This place was amazing! The service was great and the food was outstanding! I had the herb crusted halibut and am already wanting to go back and eat it all over again! Also highly recommend the peanut butter pie if you want dessert 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I have food allergies and the waiter was excellent about getting everything correct!
Excellent service! Food was satisfactory! One individual in party had a bad upset stomach from his lunch! ( he had the shrimp )
We came as a party of 11 on a Friday night and felt ignored. Dirty dishes were left on our table, we had to call our server over three different times during one interaction to get everybody’s drink order. This was supposed to be a birthday celebration but we were largely ignored. We would have ordered more appetizers and table vegetables but our server never came back in between taking our order and serving our food. The food was OK but one person received their meal from the kids menu… That was something that should’ve been clarified by the server. As always the ambience and the drinks were amazing but our server and lack of service was unacceptable.
++ Good food choices, good bread, friendly service, moderate to pricey ,
-- very loud
Really service and great food.
The ribs were great but the slaw was not good. The drink I ordered was not good either. Next time I will order wine.
I’ve had the blue cheese salad many times before and always love it but this last time it was just sub par. Other than that I love GB and will keep coming back.
Treat my out of town guest to GB and he loved it! Next time he comes back to Alaska he's going to come to GB instead of another local fish and chips restaurant.
Amazing deserts and cocktails, Calimari is always the starter for my family or with co workers for business. I love the smell of the restaurant as the woods burning.
Quality of my steak was down from past experiences at this restaurant. Service was also not the best I have had at glacier
