Glacier BrewHouse Ratings and Reviews
Our server was great, but our food was absolutely terrible. Both of our entrees were burnt to a crisp- I'm talking BLACK. And my fiancé found a piece of 4x4 wax paper on his burnt chicken sandwich. The calamari was good and so was the potato soup, but I wouldn't recommend the ribs or the chicken sandwich. Once upon a time I loved this restaraunt, but sadly we won't be returning.
We had a reservation at 5:15pm; we arrived about 5:10 and had to wait almost 10-15 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated; we had two people we were waiting on - granted they were a bit late for the reservation but we didn't see the waitress for a bit of time after they got there. I think we were there for almost 10 minutes before anyone said anything even for water. My step-son asked for a refill on iced tea - it took almost 10 min as well. I figured the drinks from the bar would take a bit but I watched his glass sit on the waitress station for a good bit while our waitress went to do other things. None of these things were what we had experienced before with Glacier Brewhouse but we usually go for lunch not for dinner.
I hadn't been thee for dinner in a long time. I had the special steak, which was just great. We got out in plenty of time for the theater. So convenient if you are doing anything at the PAC. It does tend to get a bit noisy if you are in a larger group. But perfect for a twosome.
We're regular patrons of Glacier Brewhouse, typically for special occasions or when we have out-of-town visitors. During our last visit though, we were not met with the high quality food we've come to expect. The house was packed that night, so maybe the kitchen was just off, but we were definitely disappointed with our dishes since we know we've had better food there before. The risotto texture was off, fingerling potatoes were underdone, even the bread was a bit dry. Glacier Brewhouse usually delivers consistently good food, so we'll try them again in the future, hoping it's better than last time.
Been there a bunch of times but the last time there, the food was definitely not up to par. My med-well steak came out fairly red. He offered to take it back but by then I'd already eaten half. (Seen too many movies to be sending food back into the kitchen.)
The waiter, Mark was friendly and answered all our questions about the menu. He provided recommendations when asked. He came to check on us just enough. He also made sure we got a nice birthday desert. The food was delicious, worth the prices. Will def go back!
All of us - being repeat Glacier Brewhouse customers - were VERY surprised that our meals were not very good. The fish (in the fish and chips) was clearly overcooked with burned edges. The server who brought that dish should never have presented it. I had the grilled salmon. It was cold and over cooked. I received one stalk of broccolini. Not one person at the table complimented their meal. The food quality and preparation were sub par. The waiter, Daniel, was very nice (and sweetly shy) but we didn't order our main courses until 20 minutes after we sat down, which makes for a way too long business lunch. Perhaps he's new or had too many tables to service properly? The ice tea had no ice. The people delivering the plates put them in the wrong place and we were left to resort them. Very disappointing dining experience. I really hope it was just an off-day because the Brewhouse has been a staple.
We get there and they reserved us the conference room. We weren’t expecting it at all and it was kind of nice because we were able to enjoy a great New Years between friends without having to talk over each other’s voices. One thing my husband was not very pleased with was the portion size of their fries, it was tiny. The drinks were amazing and so was our server!
We dine here at least once a year when in downtown. Reservations are pretty much required during the dinner hours as this place is very busy and the tables are never empty for long. The food is exceptional and flavored perfectly. The noise level is at its peak in this place and yet in its sister restaurant "Orso's" next door the ambiance and noise level is more subtle. Interesting for sure. Although we don't dine downtown as often as I would like this restaurant is always on our radar. Never disappointed.
The food was good and proportions acceptable in volume. The price was quite reasonable given the quality of food. The service was exceptionally slow, so much so that I would return only when I was marginally hungry and not in immediate desire of a good drink. The spatial and interior design is very nice, but it is very loud; so much so that it's tough to hear anyone else at your table.
I was maybe the very first non investor to know about this place. I was in as a vendor and helped with colors and decor some. I had one of the first meals there too. I have been there hundreds of times. Loved every one.........until this time the rock-fish was very fishy which to me means old, the bread that was served with the rock-fish was not really good......ok awe-full the coleslaw was tasteless and dry the ribs were the saver as they were awesome. service was pretty good and the staff was large. I'll go back just hoping it was a one time week night thing.
We have gone to the Glacier Brew House a handful of times. However this time was possibly the worst experience. Having ordered food, to then be told that they are out of a sauce but can be made differently (using marianna sauce). I explained my food allergies to the waiter and he placed our order. When my food came out it had dairy on it, when he went back to the chef I could see the Chef yelling at the waiter, which was very unprofessional in my opinion. Come to find out there was a miscommunication when the waiter placed the order (He did not disclose the food allergies) I ended up not eating because my husband was almost done with his meal when this was all figured out. I usually love the Brew House, but this experience was pretty disappointing.
This was a much better experience than last time at Glacier. The ambiance and drinks are always good. The service and food have been hit and miss. Service was almost over the top good. Food quality was much better than in the past. Overall great experience.
We celebrated our last night of our Alaskan holiday here. My husband and I both had the King Crab legs which were absolutely superb and we substituted the rice for mashed potato which was more to our liking. Service was very friendly. We had requested a table by the fireplace when reserving and they honoured this which was great. We attempted to redeem an Open Table $10 rewards, but they said they werent able to process that which was a bit disappointing. However, overall, a delicious meal with great service.
I feel like it was an off night. They seemed understaffed and possibly a new person in the kitchen. It took a long time between check-in's with our server. A long time for drinks and food. We ordered an item that never came. And the sandwich I ordered was missing the sauce. I've been a few times before and it has always been wonderful. Unfortunately we had a large group and we're celebrating my son's graduation. Several people left feeling unimpressed.
Brewhouse is always one of my favorite places, the food is fabulous. I was a bit disappointed in my last two visits which were within a week apart. First visit was celebrating my mother’s 60th birthday, I wrote on my reservation notes that we were celebrating something very special, nothing was ever mentioned about her birthday, thought maybe they were just waiting till the end of dinner. I dined with a best girlfriend just a few days ago and the birthday note I wrote on the reservation special request was ignored a second time. I will not be dining here on any special occasion again and was very disappointed with this happening twice. With lots of wonderful restaurants in the area which do take notice of the instructions on the reservation I will be bringing my business there instead.
