Great place to meet a friend. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Lovely view of the golf course from our table!
Highly disappointed with new menu. Traveling from AZ, I was looking forward to their panko crusted walleye which is no longer on the menu. Very noisy - both patrons and bartender and not that many people for as loud as it was. Seated near the bar with open, quieter tables away from the bar.
Melt-in-your-mouth Bistro steak, fork-tender. The rosemary & bacon hashbrowns are delicious. The service was adequate, although we had to wait a while to get our check. We would go back for another special occasion.
Excellent food! Half price burgers and happy hour cocktails.
We were able to enjoy our dinner on their patio overlooking the golf course.
Beautiful evening and shaded table.
Overall it was s great experience and great value.
The sea bass special was DELICIOUS! Served with couscous and roasted vegetables...m-m-good. Have never yet had a special I did not like here!
We celebrated some birthdays. Saw the sign new Sunday brunch. Fruit disappointing and very little choice for brunch. Eggs were had and cold.
My 89 yr old friend is hard of hearing. We were placed next to bar and traffic from golf course. Music was loud and I asked the hostess if we could sit somewhere else, lots of open tables, she was not accomodating.
Service was good.
Sorry, won't be back for Sunday brunch.
We went for Father's Day brunch. The food was very good but the service and wait times for the brunch were unsatisfactory. They seemed ill-prepared for hosting brunch or were short-staffed. We rarely saw our server and she never explained the brunch procedure (something to the extent of "will you be having brunch today? The buffet is out the door and down the hallway to your right" would've been helpful). The staff were very friendly and the ambience was nice (if a little loud). I'd go back.
Have been here before and Sunday brunch was always good. Brought two dads for Fathers Day and was rather disappointed. Less options on buffet than before, food was drying out or running out and omelette station had a huge line. Server was less than friendly and seemed rather annoyed with us for some reason? Had to ask for refills on soda, and plates were not cleared until we had a stack. Table next to us used server station to bus their own table. Not the Fathers Day experience we were looking for.
Girvan did good job with food and the service was OK, but on weekends they have a lot of weddings. Prior to the reception starting the entire wedding party came down to drink. Rather than encouraging the LOUD bar crowd into the bar side of the facility they hung around in the restaurant portion, causing all at the table to yell to each other to communicate and be heard.
Appetizers were tasty, but small for the prices charged. Meal portions were generous and delicious.
Previously loved the Sunday brunch and I brought out of town family here unaware that it had changed. No one got the mini so-called brunch very disappointed. We ordered breakfast off the menu and it was ok. I got an omelette and English muffin and I shouldn't have been the one to ask for jam it should have automatically been brought to the table when toast is served. Won't return for brunch anymore maybe still for a dinner but not sure. Disappointed as it use to be a place we came to a lot and brought our friends in the pass.
Went to celebrate husband's birthday. We had the prime rib special. We had the opportunity to try it smoked. It was very good.
Very disappointing. We've been there many times in the past and loved it. They have changed the menu. They used to have a really good walleye dinner, but it's gone. I ordered the pike sandwich instead and it was not good. Granted we were early on Friday so we could use our DMC cards before 4:00, but one of us ordered the Shepard's pie and had to wait over 1/2 hour for it since it was not ready. She did say it was good though and the restaurant comped her meal because she had to wait so long. Husband had the Rueben and it was ok. All in all, I don't think I'd rush back there.
Girvan Grille is part of the Edinburgh USA golf course. A local favorite of ours. Food has consistently been great. Great menu options with some great appetizers. I would suggest the Blue Cheese Steak Bites, a meal in themselves. The prime rib has also been a favorite. Great views of the course from the dining area. Outdoor seating for dining is also available. We will be back again soon.
We are regulars and enjoy the setting
Great prime rib, shrimp and pasta excellent
Really great service - way to go Teresa! Six of us all had something that was different and it all was great - everyone was so happy. I had the fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and I WILL have it again.
They need to advertise more. They could draw more people if they would advertise Hidden gem in the neighborhood
We go there often, enjoy the view and use our frequent diner card toward a free entree
The menu has changed, no more walleye, and prime rib
Hope they bring them back
Girvan is our favorite
Six in our group and five different items ordered...most were very satisfied! Two ordered the Eggs Benedict and felt the eggs were a bit overdone and the dish not as tasty as they'd hoped. Bloody Marys were very good.
Take a look at your Dragon Shrimp.....the flavor was somewhat overwhelmed by the green onions. The shrimp was a bit tough. Edinburger was great. Overall the rest of our party was very happy and we were as well.
