Girasole Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Our waitress was phenomenal. We had several special diet requests and she handled each concern and question with kindness and professionalism. This is a fantastic place to have an intimate meal. The ambiance is perfect and the food has been great each time I've dined here. The waitstaff is the key element in putting together the memorable dining experience and we were very impressed.
Fortunately we got here early; small place with crowded seating that would NOT have been enjoyable at the noise level when we were finished. Pricing is not for the faint hearted but you receive value for monies spent. We had the Iberico ham appetizer special which was $35 but well worth the price for the quality of the product. Two of the carpaccios; the pulpo & combination of salmon & sea bass were fantastic whereas the pasta tasting menu was "OK" but paled compared to the appetizers. The wine list is outrageous & surprisingly reasonably priced for the quality & selection offered. Dinner for two was close to $400 but my wife & I considered it very fair for the food & experience.
I’ve been coming to this place for 15 years and it never disappoints. The food is truly authentic Italian cuisine. The place is run by a really nice family from Napoli and they are super hospitable. I’m my opinion this is the only place worth eating at if you come to Atlantic City. Buon appetito
Great food and wonderful service! We were a party of 2 adult couples for dinner and everyone loved their meals. Procuitto appetizer was fabulous! Osso buco and seafood pasta entres were absolutely delicious!! Do yourself a favor visit here for a lovely dinner experience soon. We can't wait to return!
Made reservation through open table indicating that it was for our anniversary. This was never acknowledged, we were never offered desert. A couple came in after us and left before us. Reservations were at 7 we ate dinner at 9 and only had a cheese plate as an appetizer. There was an air about the place that they were doing us a favor rather than the other way around.
Service was very poor. They brought the wrong drink and then left it on our table all night, never bringing the right drink even though they were told more than once. We had to request silverware. They were so inattentive to our needs. The food was average. The server never came back to our table to see if everything was OK. We didn't know that there were specials until we herd another server describing them to other customers after we got our food. Our server forgot to go over that with us. We had a wobbly table that they were to incompetent to fix. The whole dining experience was terrible. Obviously we will not be going back.
Got there and No one took our name/reservation. Didn't seem to matter. Everyone in line said they had reservations but you could have come off the street and said anything. Room was very noisy and cramped. Waited about 25 minutes after our reservation time and decided to leave. Won't be back.
My cousin accompanied me on a recent visit. He asked me to recommend a dish from the menu. I told him to close his eyes and point at something then open your eyes. Regardless of what it is it will be terrific. If you have not experienced this restaurant do yourself a favor. Girasole is the best restaurant in Atlantic City bar none.
Surprised by the good reviews. I guess it's good when you compare to some of the other dining choices in town, but not a spectacular meal by any means.
The experience started poorly when the hostess was not at her station. We crowded the door but even the waiters and bartenders who saw us didn't acknowledge we were there. Finally a guest with another party had to track her down.
From a food standpoint , we were underwhelmed by everything from the bread (cold and overcooked, served with plain olive oil only) to the main courses (not memorable enough for the prices they are trying to command). Service was also slow and sporadic, although courteous once seated.
Overall I wouldn't recommend, but isn't the worst place to wind up in a town with limited options.
Overall I was disappointed by the slow service, day old bread and incredibly small portions. We waited almost 1 hour for our second plates of Pasta which was good but not much more than half a cup of Pasta. The Bronzino was good but also on the small side. We spent over $160 for two without any wine or liquor. I am still trying to understand why this is such a highly rated restaurant given the slow service, day old bread, and incredibly small portions given the price. Not a restaurant I would recommend given the numerous options in Atlantic City.
