Girasole has been a staple in our lives, from locust street to symphony house girasole never disappoints. We love the charm of the old country and the servers are all Italian which gives it a nice touch. But the best part of girasole is the homemade preparation in house of all there menu items. True gem A+
Excellent food! Friendly and professional service.
Fabulous food and service. Lovely atmosphere. The food is really fresh and authentic. We enjoyed our dinner and recommendations very much
In the past two months I have been to Girasole 4 times. And every time has been wonderful. A planned 5th visit is coming up in the next week. The food is amazing and Tony is a true Ambassador for the restaurant. He is attentive without being overbearing. Very friendly and remembers what someone likes to drink and what they like to eat. I will be continuing to bring my friends here for every and any occasion. I haven't come for lunch yet, but may soon. Lovely décor, great food, wonderful staff and a destination for any occasion. Congratulations Girasole, you are a gem in the Philadelphia Restaurant Renaissance.
Everything was as expected, great service food exceptional. Melenzane e Zucchine best appetizer! Fresh fish and Branzino. Everything home made, we will back sure. This spot is best italian ever.
Probably alright for a pre theater meal. Unfortunate we went after the theater crowd (if there was a crowd..) so the place was dead even once a few more tables arrived. Food and service were indifferent. Definitely would NOT go back. Felt like a wasted evening.
Good food. Excellent service. Try the carpaccio, branzino and gnocchi. Nice place to sit and linger.
A mite like being in Italy. There were very few patrons and we hoped it was perhaps that we were dining early/pre-concert; ambiance was a wee bit dark, but our food was delicious and the house wines most enjoyable!
The waiters were not at all accommodating and the food portions were scant. Nothing came with the entrée and we ended up getting some pasta which could barely serve one. The service was really terrible as well. its a shame since there are not too many choices in the arts district. Most restaurants have closed. I don't know why. If you have to, eat at a diner first, then go to the show.
Would definitely go back. The homemade pasta was delicious and was served with sausage and fresh porcini mushrooms. The tomatoes in the caprese salad were quite flavorful, even though they are not in season. Wait staff was attentive but not overbearing.
We found this place when were planning to attend the Symphony at Kimmel Hall . It was perfect, we now go back whenever we can.
Delicious food and great service .. I would recommend this place all around
The servers had good intentions. The cheese plate was one of the best I've had. The pasta was very good. The deserts were somewhat uninspired-the apple tart had just a mild apple flavor and the chocolate cake was somewhat coarse. It was right near the Kimmel Center. Broad street had been closed and there was heavy traffic so this may not have been a representative experience.
Tony - part of the awesome wait staff at Girasole was fab! The fact that the food was delicious made our friends' night out even more memorable. We will definitely return.
We were attending a symphony concert and we eat frequently at Girasole in Atlantic City, which we love and the owners are related so we thought we'd try it. Food was very good here, servers were nice and efficient; decor is flat, almost unappealing. Less 'colorful' here, less to offer - food and decor - but worthy.
We met friends for dinner before going to The Philadelphia Orchestra on a Thursday evening. Great fixed price meal with everything we each wanted (veal, chicken, fish ,pasta) and a nice dessert. Good service so that we were finished in plenty of time to get to our show. Nice wines by the glass. Was getting more crowded by 7:45 when we were leaving, but quiet and easy to talk all the same. We will go back.
i proposed to my amazing long time girlfriend here and she said YES!! i absolutely love this place and the family who owns it
i have had multiple business meetings here and every one of them was a great experience
such a beautiful classy place with phenomenal food!!
When I arrived, it was just as the place was opening for dinner service. I said I had a reservation, but they didn't take my name or check the list, just escorted me to my table. I had wanted the cheese plate, but I actually got the house salad (and was charged appropriately). The salad was fine, mostly arugula with pear and cheese slices with walnuts in a very light dressing. The appetizer of warm, thin sliced filet was very food. The main course, was fine. When the server came to take the check, I said and put five fingers, asking for just five dollars back. He thanked me and that it was it. While it's very convenient to where I live, I'm not sure it will be a "go to" place in the neighborhood for me.
perfect location for pre-theater dining.....and an excellent assortment of menu ides for a fast and excellent snack/mael....have been here several times because of the location, service and food
had a very large party of 30 people and they very easily accommodated us and we had the whole place to ourselves. it was a delight and the manager couldnt have been any nicer
they were also very accommodating to me needing a gluten free dish
i absolutely love this place and my whole family has gone here at least once and enjoyed everything about it.. best family owned and operated establishment in the city by far
The food isn't terrible but they literally have nothing in stock. Be prepared to order your fifth choice. This included alcohol as well. Unapologetic.
I cannot believe i havent stumbled across this gem sooner! at the recommendation of friends me and my wife tried it out and we were blown away by the amazing food and service!! definitely our new favorite spot
Let's put it this way- we had a 6pm reservation for 6, which they did honor. We had theater tickets for an 8pm show. At 7pm, we hadn't even been served our salads. As I looked around the restaurant, I noticed Jim Gardner and his family had come in AFTER us and they were seated, and eating before we had even been served our salads. There was no water refill, no attention to us at all. My husband usually tips a respectable 20%, but tonight- he left 10% and that was TOO much.
I guess if you're a famous local personality, you get served, and service. As for us- never, ever, again. We would have been better served at the new WAWA.
Great atmosphere amazing food excellent quick service what more could you ask for
I haven't tasted authentic Italian food that delicious in a long time! The service, amazing! Love the Blood Orange Martini! I've already booked my next reservation for a party of Eight!
The absolute best Italian in Philadelphia if you haven't already tried it then you need to
The food at this little Italian gem is outstanding. We have dined here twice recently prior to an orchestra concert around the corner. The service was charming and prompt, the food was outstanding, and the wine selection was perfect. What more could you want?
Everything about Girasole is A+. It is consistently superb. Try it and see for yourself.
This family-owned and mostly family-operated restaurant is fabulous. The food and service are genuinely "Italian!" The pasta is fresh and the ricotta cheesecake is a must have dessert.
Lights, camera, action an all speaking Italian restaurant must mean something right? Yes this means the real deal. Loved every bite, every sip, and enjoyed watching the servers work wonders on a very busy night with theatre goers rushing around this staff handled it kept it together and we made it out on time. Oh forgot to mention this is Maestro Yannick's favorite restaurant.
First time at this Italian eatery, we were recommended by friends of ours and really enjoyed our experience. The food was fresh and simple. Service speedy and helpful since we were late arriving for our reservations and needed to make a curtain. Our waitress Michelle was a delight
Great location to catch a wonderful pre theatre dinner. Wonderful Italian menu and efficient friendly service.
Welcome to Italy, finally a diverse menu of authentic Italian food. Very nice cozy ambiance and specialty Martini's well candlelit spot that we really enjoyed. Soup, carpaccio, fried calamari, ravioli special with pear so wonderful and great service.
Excellent tasty well prepared Italian meal, fantastic location although off the beating path but close enough to rite house square and the theatre. Our service was friendly and we were taken very good care of! Birthday candle and dessert on the house from management added the family touch
This is a perfect spot for your occasions. It s an authentic italian restaurnt. The service is gentle and food is all cooked at the moment. This take its time but the quality is impressive. I tried it because I didn't believe to previous review. So I need to tell you it's not a fast food. Take your time realax and enjoy the food because it's special. Love girasole
Wonderful Italian very Italian experience, the cheese and melanzane were a real treat, well portioned carpaccio' very tasty octopus. Our main dishes did not disappoint, a thick piece of fresh tuna seared to perfection with a tomato and avocado was different and refreshing, gnocchi pasta and some roasted potatoes finished off our meal with some wine and homemade biscotti. Excellent paced service just in time for a show. Girasole stays true to its roots.
