So many Italian restaurants seem to overlook that good pasta dishes are not served in a puddle of water at the bottom of the plate. The water drenched pasta doesn’t allow the oils, butter and sauces to be absorbed resulting in a diluted dishwasher taste. Unless this kitchen crew recognizes this, they will never rise above pedestrian level food ratings. Removing the water has no cost but sooo many benefits. Why more supposedly Italian places don’t take this step is a mystery.
Food was good, but took a long time for it to come from the kitchen. Ordered a second drink that did not arrive until almost finished with the meal. Told her I did not want it.
Always have a great experience- been going here for years. Had Patty as our server this last time and she was fantastic. Also as a side note, their pizza is excellent and great for takeout.
This used to be one of our favorite weekday restaurants. It has now changed the menu to ala carte and for the price I do not feel it is a fair value. Although the chicken parm continues to be our favorite meal at this restaurant.
Three entrees were ok but my entree which was gnocchi with pesto was hard and not much pesto. Very loud not sure if is was bad ecustics. Will not be back.
It was great!!
This restaurant is generally consistent. Food is good but not great. It has a good vibe to it and it is a great bar.
Service on this night was spotty at best.
Slow service, slow kitchen and side dishes were forgotten
We eat at this restaurant often because truthfully the food is good. The problem is that often the service is very very bad. Not always, but too often and unpredictably . This week we had a 6:15 reservation and to make a long and painful story short, we walked out at 7:30 having not yet received our dinner. When we complained to the manager she poked my husband with her finger on his arm several times and never apologized. This sadly was not our first experience with bad treatment at this restaurant. We like the food but never know if they will bring it.
We live in the vineyards and have not taken advantage of this wonderful find just walking distance form our home. This was a first visit, but will definitely not be our last. Outstanding food and one of the best servers. If you have the opportunity ask for Kelly. She gave us a little history of the family that owns and operates the restaurant. The food and her service made it an extraordinary evening.
Food was great. Server was pleasant and attentive enough. Only concern was delay from salad to entrees. Took longer than expected.
Semi-regulars..7-8 Times per year. Our go-to restaurant when we are in town.
Only writing this review with the hopes management will look into our poor experience.
6:15 reservations. Arrived 6:06, seated at 6:09. Great start. Server arrives a bit later than we hoped, but got our wine ordered. Then things went bad. No water, no bread, no waitress until we waved down the hostess at 6:45. Still no order taken and no clue on the days specials. Waitress arrives shortly after and leaves unopened wine and heads to another table. We eventually get water, bread, wine open and a list of specials. Then gone again.....
7:00 we order the lamb chop appetizer done medium, as always, then begin another long wait. When they arrive, they’re black on one side and way beyond medium. As we waited so long for them to be served we sent them back and asked they be removed from the bill. After another long wait, dinner finally arrived. Excellent as usual. I know it’s peak season here in Naples and the place is packed, but we took guests a week earlier and it was just as busy and had a totally different experience. I truly hope this was a singular bad night for the staff, as I overheard a number of other complaints that night. We won’t give up yet, but there are certainly many other great alternatives. Please fix whatever was wrong ..... :-(
A very happy surprise. Had never heard of this place until I booked it on Open Table. Food was wonderful and the service friendly and prompt. The Happy Hour break on wine prices is amazing. We live reasonably near by and expect to visit frequently. Hurray!
Always good food. Noise level still too high. Waitress very attentive.
We've been here a couple of times now and it never disappoints. The food is always fresh and delicious, and they always have a great selection of specials. I'm fairly particular about Italian food considering my grandmother was the greatest cook on earth, but this place stacks up nicely to her recipes. Their spinach ravioli is divine, and you MUST have the garlic rolls. Grab a pizza to go too... you won't be sorry you did!
Great wine selection always accommodating to tweak the entree selection to your preference.
It took over 40-minutes for a waitor to stop by after we were seated, another 30-minutes to get our food.
If you are going to have a lot of tables, have enough brains and consideration to increase your kitchen staff. They claimed they had - chefs cooking. Ok, but it’s not working! Get 6, or reduce your table count. It’s not rocket science!
The chef prepared a spicy shrimp with Liguini. It's called Gamberi a la Diavlo I think. I said this should be his signature dish. It was the best.
Were seated right on our reservation time. Service was good. Our table had chicken Parmesan, meatballs, chicken Romano, and gnocchi. All dinners were great. Good portions too. The meatballs were especially good and their tomato sauce was great as usual.
This is one of our favorite neighborhood destinations! The waiter and staff were very accommodating!
Four of us were here for dinner. Service was great, a good wine, and good food. We were seated promptly, and the whole dinner was delightful. We will return.
Everything was very good including our waiter
Great lunch. We sat outside. Definitely will go back for dinner.
Great value, good food, appreciative customer service.
Always a great experience! More room at bar for Happy Hour would be great !
Our server Adam attentive and knowledgeable.Great wine recommendation.
Everything was great, but it was very, very, very noisy and hard to carry on a conversation-even across the table.
Sadly my husbands veal parm was extremely tough even though it was thin.
First time trying this restaurant. It was a pleasant experience and we will be going back. It was noisy as it is “in season” in FL and every table was full. Service was great and meals are priced reasonable...
Business very good wIter
Great as always!
They sat us in a loud back room with loud drunks I was so embarrassed it was a seedy atmosphere and I was the one who recommended this restaurant to our guests. Always sat in the nice DR, With cloth table cloths, Asked for table in DR, 3 empty, plus 1 empty booth, the young girl who seated us was snotty said NO. Server was sloppy spilled water, was in a rush, asked for specials, he was bothered. Have gone to Giovannis numerous times, never knew had a back room, plus that area had filthy bathroom no towels, told girl who seated us on the way out. I don’t think I will use open table again, this was the second restaurant that gave us terrible service with reservations thru open table. Terrible experience, we should have walked out never again.
Food was excellent. We felt rushed. They had dessert menu for us and I hadn’t finished my entree. We had to wait about 5 min to get grated cheese. Over all it was good.
This was my grandson and friend! They had an early reservation and felt it was dark and cold inside so they opted to eat outside. The loved the food!
Good food, good service.
Our service wasn't good at all. Our server was stretched thing between at least 5-7 tables, and one was a bigger group. It took her a long time to come back to us for refills and checking on the food. Also, when we asked for the dessert menu it took 25 minutes to get the menu to our table. The portion size was smaller than I like for Italian food, and the sauce wasn't what I thought I was getting, more Mac n Cheese cheese than heavy cream for Alfredo sauce. And the kids menu- half order of anything on the menu... seems like they don't get too many kids. My 3 year old doesn't eat that much food, so she had to eat fries.. And instead of automatically getting ketchup with it, we had to ask for ketchup.. For the $165 we spent on mediocre food, we could have had better elsewhere. I most likely won't be back.
Sat in dinning room as bar was jammed. Food always good. Service was good. We had a
Pasta was soft and watery. Soup was not good. Salad was good. Will not be going back !!
We had a good meal but here is the problem we have had, every time we visited this restaurant.
They have spotters walking up and down when your eating and If you put down your fork, your dish could immediately disappear. Tonight this happened no less than four times. This can be very annoying when someone is constantly at your table asking if they can remove your dish.
This has happened every time we have been in this restaurant. It’s not right that during dinner I have to tell an employee to please do not take my dish and let them know I will call when I am ready to have the plates removed.
Also, tonight, Saturday night when unlike other weekdays when we are dining out, we want this to be a little more relaxing. Directly across from us, there was a family with two small children. I can tell you that they were both screaming and the parents couldn’t get them to stop. Don’t get me wrong, we had kids as well and sometimes I had to immediately get up and take them out of the restaurant, because it’s not right to ruin any other diners meal. But today, no one cares and it’s very sad.
It was our first time, food... amazing
We will absolutely return
