Quiet escape with killer food. A mainstay in The Pearl That remains under the radar. Love it!
A nice, impromptu night out - good food with excellent service.
I have always Loved this restaurant.
Food is always delicious for a very reasonable price. Knowledgeable staff and Giorgio the owner is wonderful.
Still an overlooked gem in the Pearl after all these years. Wonderful, high qual food.
Although quite busy for Valentine's day the food and service were excellent.
We were extremely disappointed as this was a Valentines Day date, I checked Giorgio’s website to see if there was a special Valentine’s Day menu, and there was nothing posted. Even the menu page on the website showed amazing photos of plates of food, but no menu posted. I elected to assume that they would have the full menu available.
When we showed up we were greeted at the door by who I assume was the owner, and seated at a table which was placed in a position on the floor that wasn’t ordinary to the normal restaurant’s daily operation, thus I wasn’t able to sit across from my wife.
The table wobbled badly and spilled water all over.
The waiter was kinda creepy and weird in his mannerisms.
We had already ordered a glass of wine when my wife looked at the menu and noticed that it WAS in fact a special menu with a price of $75 per plate.
I had budgeted for a typical formal dining that we normally do of around $100 (not including tip), but not $150 plus tip.
As always, great food and great hospitality Giorgio!
Noise level at next table was intolerable though...…………..
One of the most flavorful means we've had in a long time. Giorgio himself oversees service and makes each customer feel most welcomed in his fine restaurant. The Caesar salad, thoughtfully made with butter lettuce rather than romaine, had multiple delightful flavors: so very different from the run-of-the mill Caesar salads. They make all of the their own pasta and it really shows: what a difference! Giorgio's will surely be on our "must" list when we next return to Portland.
We love Giorgios. Excellent cuisine and superbe service. Although the menu did seem a bit limited last time we went, every dish at the table was delicious.
Not the best food or selection. Also, felt it was overpriced.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The food was excellent and the service was great.
The food is outstanding and service is excellent. Georgio's is an oasis in the Pearl that offers quiet. romantic ambience and good food and wine!
Wonderful evening spent at Giorgio’s
Great service, food and ambiance!
Giorgio's has been around the Pearl District for 20 years and remains one of our favorites for creative and well-prepared Northern Italian cuisine. It's a wonderful dining experience.
I hope this place continues to stay open because it is cozy, well located, service is great, and the food is really tasty. The only problem is that its pricey. We spent $150 for 3 and all we had was pasta and salads- no alcohol!
Great food every time we go. Nice quiet atmosphere so it is easy to catch up with friends.
I have to say every time I have the pleasure of eating at Giorgio’s, I am truly amazed. The flavor and quality of each entree is superb. You can’t ask for anything more. The owner is so gracious and I encourage everyone in Portland who wants an amazing dining experience to make a reservation today!
I have eaten at Giorgio's numerous times and each time the quality of the food was outstanding. Most recently I ate the Lamb Osso Buco, a great winter dish. Their pasta dishes are also superb, and I have sampled most of them. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Very good food and quiet, easy place to meet before a play. Would like to see more vegetarian options on the menu, although the chef accommodated our vegetarian friends.
The service from our waitress was great. The food was just okay, mostly underseasoned (specifically the pappardelle was very underwhelming, slightly watered down and was not salted enough). Note that there is a sharing cost per plate. It didn't quite make sense at the time, considering we were two people and had ordered two appetizers and two mains. To keep things simple, we did tell the waitress to forget about sharing. The menu listed on Open Table is not representative of actual menu.
First time here and it was good.... just not great. Meals were pretty good but nothing fancy and service was okay. For the price we probably won't go again.
Giorgio's is always outstanding. Every dish is creative, they use locally sourced food, and always have seasonal specials. The service is meticulous, and all of the food is always terrific. The atmosphere is vaguely European, and it's a quiet enough space that you can have an actual conversation while dining! Giorgio himself is the host and head waiter. Authentic Italian, both owner and restaurant.
I brought a group of 13 people to Giorgio‘s for a business dinner and couldn’t be more pleased. The owner himself took special care to make sure all of our needs were met. The food was excellent. Several of my guests commented how flavorful their entrées were. I would definitely come here again individually or with a group. The noise level was low which made it easy to carry on detailed conversations.
We were entertaining family from out of town. The food was great. Georgio personally served our table and was very attentive and helpful making the dining experience very enjoyable. Thank you!
We were in Portland for a long weekend and ate out often. This was the BEST meal we had during that time.
For us, Giorgio’s best combines comfort with cuisine of the many Italian restaurants we’ve tried in Portland. It is utterly reliable, by which I mean that we always have a good, true Italian meal with solicitous service. The owner is unfailingly gracious. Each time we return, we wonder why we have bothered with other restaurants which are enjoying a current buzz.
We went for a birthday celebration! The calamari appetizer was amazing and the pasta very fresh and authentic. Farm to table salads and veggies. Good quality and nice atmosphere.
The food was excellent. The setting was excellent: nice comfortable table and easy to talk. Great service from the owner (Giorgio).
Excellent, as always.
Amazing food and service.
Fantastic. Thank you Giorgio. Keyvan
Giorgio greeted us and we had a great dinner. Giorgios has stayed steady through the years. The dinner was very good with great flavors
We had a wonderful meal. The pastas are hand made and the food is delicious and fresh and traditional Northern Italian. The service was personal and attentive and the restaurant itself is lovely.
Always great, fresh food with wonderful service and quiet atmosphere. Giorgio will suggest the perfect wine for your meal.
We had a nice dinner here. Nothing blew us away, but had a solid meal and fair prices. Would come back again and give it another try. Pea salad was fantastic, pasta dishes were solid but not spectacular. Friendly service without being overbearing.
Giorgio’s is one of those rare restaurants that manages to gently persuade you you have found a trace of real civility in a slew of overseasoned and overprocessed hipster hot fusion restaurants and overpriced trendy Top chefs of Portland monthly. The food, ambience and service all have an unobtrusive quiet pride in a thing well done in the name of a thing well done. Spendy? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely.
Giorgio’s is a hidden gem in the Pearl District. Normally no wait and some of the best food ever. They are also wonderful with gluten free and veggie options. We have some picky eaters in our family and they are great about substitutions and making it the way everyone likes! I would recommend them very highly!
Girogio's is a pleasant little surprise in the Pearl District in Portland. Good food--the pastas, duck and pea soup were good. Our party of 6 enjoyed the meal. Our only concern was that the owner had an old credit card processing machine, resulting in a minor issue when we checked out. One person's card was declined due to an error in entry at the restaurant and another person was charged twice for their meal. Other than that, there's good food to be had at this quiet place downtown.
We haven't been in to Giorgio's in a while because it fell off our radar. BIG MISTAKE. Rarely can you have a meal where each course is perfect. You can here. The scallop appetizer is cooked & seasoned to perfection with portland farmers market carrots & the loveliest of sauces... The beet salad was transformational, with a dressing that was simple and amazing. The wild boar is approachable and refined, the duck the most tender & moist in recent memory. Giorgio's has a casual elegance about it, nice background music and perfect for an intimate chat. The saezarec cocktail epitomizes this place: not as sweet as Jake's, not as pretentious as other local spots, simply delicious.
