Giorgio's of Gramercy Ratings and Reviews
Very welcoming atmosphere, extremely accommodating and attentive service from a very friendly and pleasing staff. Ambiance quite comforting, lighting appropriate and noise level OK. Can be intimate or businessy depending on where you sit. Food is very good with only a few missteps. Highlights include yummy charred B sprouts and a crunchy sweet beet salad slightly over dressed and tad oily. Vegetarian cappellini workmanlike but tasty and rosy duck breast pan fried to perfection with nice Port reduction. Unfortunately the accompanying pumpkin puree was too sweet and mushy and mostly inedible. Strawberry tres leches cake for dessert was supernal, as were the generous and fairly priced gin martinis. A great place to relax with friends and enjoy caring service in a nurturing environment
Giorgio's proved to be a great local find. The menu has a large amount of seafood choices, and a very good wine list. Our waiter James was excellent and very personable. The table seating is a bit tight, but we had an early 6 pm reservation and it wasn't an issue until we were ready to leave as tables filled up quickly. All of our dinners were excellent quality
I took my sister here to celebrate her birthday and it was a fantastic experience. Food was delicious and the service was exceptional. The waitress overheard that it was my sister's birthday and came out with a dessert on the house with a candle in it after we finished dinner! I will definitely be going back again soon!
Everything was excellent. Shared a beet salad, ordered veal osso buco and sea bass special, shared tiramasu for dessert. Service was the best experience of any other location in the city. Was the first time at Giorgio's, but would certainly return often. Would recommend it to everyone.
We had a wonderful dinner at Giorgio’s celebrating 3 birthdays. Our waitress was great, the wine she recommended was amazing and we all enjoyed our dishes. Especially good was the black cod served with a bed of ‘lobster mash’ (mashed potatoes with lobster pieces-yummy). We’ve been here before and loved the comfy banquet seating and ambience. We will definitely be coming back!
The restaurant is very charming with dark red walls and tables not too close. If you like Sinatra, as i do, they play a lot of him, also the music overall is the great American soing book. . fine if you a baby boomer or older. F ood -- just OK. You cannot get served dinner before 5:30. No warning about this. Prices are a little high, but bearable. Easy acces from the R train.
This used to be a fantastic standby, outperforming peers in the area. Nlearly no longer. The restaurant needs an update. The restaurant was too dark, and had a musty smell to it. The service was overbearing and irritating, while busing of table was ready to take plates before everyone at the table was done. The appetizer was cold, when it was meant to be hot. The main course was fine, but nothing terribly special. Overall, not a place I would revisit.
We went here for our anniversary and loved it. Between the two of us, we had the burrata, seafood linguine appetizer, salmon, tuna, and s'mores bread pudding - everything was excellent. And the service was knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommend!
Loved it! Everything we ate was overly delicious. Appetizers, 4 different entrees and the s'more bread breeding. The waiter was the best one we ever had. Friendly, impformative but not in our way. Mentioned we were going to a Paul McCartney concert and he put on a Beatles playlist.
When we arrived at 5 on Sunday afternoon we were the only ones there. Was surprising but filled up as we were leaving. Looking forward to returning.
This has been a favorite of ours for dinner and special occasions. The food, service and friendly energy were always wonderful. Something was really off this time. Two of the four main courses were hardly edible, the rest of the food was mediocre, the music was really loud--they were accomodating and turned it down for us. The energy in the restaurant was definitely not its usual. It was disapponting as it was a special occasion, and we were hoping it would continue to be a favorite restaurant for us.
I have to say I had one of the best meals at Giorgio's I've had in a long time. My husband and I went for restaurant week . I had the salad, filet mignon (done to perfection), and the best dessert ever, (chocolate bread pudding). We ordered cocktails at the bar with fried Sicilian olives and that too was delicious!
Ambience was great. Service was great. A slam dunk! Will go back!
Once again, we chose Giorgio's to celebrate our anniversary, and once again, we weren't disappointed! The hostess, Amy, remembered us from last year, as did James, our excellent waiter, who treated us to a champagne toast. Our meal was excellent, well prepared, beautifully presented. The Restaurant Week menu was an exceptional value, with items selected from their regular menu, as well as special dishes. We're planning to return again, and not going to wait a year to do so!
