Mediocre at best. I frequent quality establishments with 4 to 5 star ratings and this restaurant, from a food and cost perspective, falls flat. It is a 3 Star experience and overpriced. Service was great.

Great food - we had the NYC restaurant week 3 course menu which was delicious and very good value. Attentive, knowledgable service. Cosy, candlelit ambiance. Nice place to have a high quality, special meal but without pretentiousness or high prices.

Our group of 5 had a hit or miss experience with restaurant week lunch. Lobster bisque was underwhelmed. Calamari was excellent. Sea scallops were perfectly prepared while hanger steak was generally overcooked. Gelato and sorbet were good but s'more bread pudding was overly sweet. All in all, it's good but not outstanding.

This is our favorite "special occasion" restaurant in our neighborhood. Food is always delicious, service is attentive and gracious, and it has a classic sophisticated ambience.

Everyone on staff very nice and professional. One of my guests had some dietary restrictions and waiter could not have been nicer accommodating her. Another guest had to leave after ordering and they cancelled his meal without blinking. Risotto was terrific. Not fancy decor but clean and comfortable. Very good value. I will be going back.

Area to wait wasn't very welcoming, staff werent too attentive and almost forgot about one of our jackets. Food wasn't great - I found the meet too chewy and couldn't finish it. Dessert was average for a sorbet.

Restaurant Week lunch menu is delish: we had lobster bisque, calamari, steak w brussel sprouts and au gratin, with a s'more bread pudding for dessert. Will definitely go back; been there 15 years.

Great meal and service. Came during restaurant week and choices were excellent, didn't even need to check regular menu. Went for optional wine pairings, also well selected. Highly recommended.

Salmon was greasy and just OK. My pappardelle with lamb ragout was absolutely incredible! My friends enjoyed their lamb shank special.

Super good, hearty Italian. They seemed way undertaffed or just not efficient service. Took a while to grab a drink at table and waiter didn’t even apologize for the wait. Bartender said it’d be better to come on a weekday. Seriously, would still go back for the pasta.

Great food, the scallops were incredible and the lamb shank was one of the best I've had. Nice paintings on the wall and good service. BUT, there is little to be said about their sound absorption. It was downright deafening in the back. There was a party of 12 on one side and a party of 4 on the other, and people were literally yelling during normal conversation. More like a nightclub level than the fine dining we were hoping for. I have been here many times and will go back, but hope the management will look into some of the sound volume issues. I would not choose this place for a romantic night where you want conversation again. Kind of bummed.

A neighborhood gem with great food that's losing it's charm. Went for an early dinner and enjoyed our main course (bone in veal parm). By dessert, the restaurant was in full swing and the noise level unacceptable. We asked for the check and enjoyed dessert at a nearby restaurant. Also observed a couple get seated at the table next to us and leave because of the noise.

Courteous and personal staff. Loved hearing their recommendations and the specials, they are truly passionate about the food they are serving! Had the octopus (good sized portion), tuna tartare, squid ink pasta, a gnocchi special (that was absolutely amazing) and the s’mores dessert. Everything was fantastic

I went here for a first date and was very impressed. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The wait staff was especially knowledgeable and were able to recommend excellent food choices. The dishes (scallops for her, steak for me) were exceptionally well prepared and very tasty! It was quiet enough for us to converse easily and the staff was helpful, but not fawning. All in all a great date place!

Best Italian meal we had in our NYC visit, and we had some very good food. We were here for the freeze and the breeze on New Years Eve 2018. We ate here after our flight got cancelled. What a great experience. We had cacio e pepe and veal parmesan, both of which were among the best we have had. Great sauce, great food and excellent service. Thank you Amy and Ernesto! It was like a neighborhood haunt with very nice people serving very good food. The wine and the Manhattan were top notch. The bread and the cheese plate were very tasty. We will come back every time we visit NYC. This is among the top two meals we had in Manhattan, and we ate at a top a sushi restaurant and at a 1 star Michelin restaurant. This should be on everyone's list of top places to visit.

An unusual place that makes you feel like you are back in the 50s or 60s in a good way! The food is really delicious and the server was also the bartender who was proud to make us the hand crafted cocktail. Give this place a try and you are sure to like it!
