Excellent Food! Professional service! This is one of very few restaurants I would recommend to friends and would want to go back.
The food was good, the bar area for waiting is very small and there were too many tables. I might go back for dinner due to the convenient location. I am definitely going for to try out Monday night happy hour.
Wonderful food - good service - nice atmosphere - we'll be back!
Nice atmosphere and reasonably priced for the quality of food/wine.
We had 2 apps and my wife had the pork chops (thick and tasty chop but "hash" with it was quite chewy in a BAD way) and I had the scallops (buttery and tender). Desserts were both excellent, we had corn cheesecake and S'more bread pudding. Overall, a good bang for the buck in the neighborhood.
This is a very enjoyable restaurant with extremely professional and courteous staff. The location itself is warm and beautiful with glowing deep red walls, soft light and dark wood. The noise is lower at the 3 tables near the front window which are separated from the main dining room by the attractive bar. Even in the main dining rooom, the noise is lively, but not overwhelming. The menu includes inventive versions of old favorites, as well as a nice mix of novel choices. Do try the fried oysters--delicious and unimaginably light.
Always reliably welcoming, hospitable, and very good dining. Great place for friends or clients.
The lunch prix fixe is a great deal. Dessert is awesome.
Nice friendly service, interesting menu but a limited amount of selections
I have been to Giorgio's of Gramercy a number so times and it is consistently good. I had the the Halibut for a main corse, the tuna tartare to begin and the amazing s'mores bread pudding for desert. It was all excellent.
Very crowded despite the fact I made the reservation the day before and all the times were still available. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our table...the bar area is very small so it was a little tight. The dining area was buzzing and the tables seem to be on top of each other but the food and service were so good it didn't even bother us. The food is like home cooked goodness...my husband got the pre-frix which was a great deal and very tasty (3 courses for $35). I got the pork chop (delish) and we shared the Brussels with mustard...also delish! For dessert we had the S'mores bread pudding...a must for any chocolate lover!
Georgio of Gramercy is truly the gem on the block. The menu is thoughtful and diverse, service is incredibly courteous and by 9pm the energy of the room is buzzing as waiters encourage guests to indulge in the head chef's whimsical nightly specials - my advice: try everything.
Giorgio's antipasto, which had olives in the description, came without them. My medium-well steak was burnt and tasteless. Service was nothing special. Overall a huge step down compared to the previous visit 1.5 years ago, expected much more.
Great food and great service. We loved our meal. The couple sitting at the next table frequented Giorgio's and said they have always had great food and service. Our waiter brought us a complimentary dessert after the meal. It was interesting... sweet corn cheesecake. Not my favorite, but everything else was great.
Space is tired and much too tight. Food was served warm and got cold quickly, and was generally uninspired. This place needs reinvention. There's just nothing special about it.
Tasteful menu. Service attentive. Somewhat cramped quarters.
Great overall experience. Enthusiastic, attentive service.
I was there for new year's eve dinner. It was just perfect.
Awesome restaurant in a small neighborhood spot - outstanding service and fantastic food, a lot of fun
We made reservations here for New Year's Eve dinner, and although the restaurant was packed when we arrived, their experienced wait staff and kitchen handled it like pros, and the service was still attentive and pleasant, and the food was - as always - outstanding. The pork chop in particular was very juicy and flavorful - just perfect. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Giorgio's is one of our neighborhood favorites. The food is consistently excellent and also very good value. But what really sets this place apart is the wonderful service. The staff genuinely enjoy their work, and it shows. There is a sense of real hospitality here that can be hard to find in New York. Overall, Giorgio's never fails to please.
Having visited your restaurant for the past 13 years, I can honestly say you continue to deliver superb and consistent service and food. Thank you for being one such amazing place to dine out at.
I love this place. Food is good, affordable, and the service is the best I know.
the three of us had a great time-- the atmosphere was festive and the food was very tasty-- dinner was a salad and a half order of pasta and a lovely red wine-- very delicious at an ok price.
I liked Giorgio's and hadn't been there in a few years, so wanted to take my friends who had never been there. Our overall experience was disappointing, with inattentive service being the biggest issue. Our appetizer came much later than all the tables around us, including those who got seated long after we were seated. They only came after we asked for it and not immediately, so I wonder if our order never went through or the apparent "new menu" was that much of a drag on service. The salads that came were definitely over-dressed. The flavors were okay, but not good enough to make up for the poor service. She was courteous, but hardly came to pour our wine; only returned when we were mostly done with the entree.
I've been a regular at Giorgio's of Gramercy Park for ten years. It never disappoints. The staff is always welcoming and professional, the food fresh and extremely well prepared. The prices are reasonable. A neighborhood gem that is well worth a trip to, no matter where one's point of departure begins.
One of our favorite restaurants for special occasions. The food is varied and excellent, the restaurant is intimate and conducive toward conversation, the service is attentive but not intrusive. A "MUST-TRY" neighborhood gem!
A lovely surprise for a dinner with a special friend. Order plates of appetizers as they are all delicious save for the Oysters Rockefeller which were buried under a mountain of arrid parmesan cheese.
Host was accomodating when our table was not acceptable
Wife ordered Halibut was served another fish probably Bronzini and when she told the host he said "well did you like it" Not good trying to fool your customers.
My oyster special was good my pasta dish was the worst I've ever been served in a New York restaurant. We will never return.
I had a very nice business lunch here this week. We both had salads which were good.
I was looking for a place to have my sister's birthday dinner. It was five of us with my parents and other sister. Searched on opentable for a nearby neighborhood. Everyone loved it and we had a great time! Service was terrific, staff was friendly and attentive. James, the wine director treated us like we were his own family! We hadn't all been together without spouses and children in over 20 years and thanks to the excellent service and festive ambiance we had a wonderful evening.
This was my second time eating here and I couldn't have been more pleased by the food and service. Both the maitre d and the waiter were extremely attentive to every single table (all which were filled). The food was delicious. Whether you order off the prix fixe or regular menu, there is plenty delicious options to choose from. I intend on frequenting this spot more often.
most enjoyable evening. price fix dinner was great value and staff was very friendly
this is our third time at this resturant and it has that neighbourhood charm
we had a spectacular dinner with our friends....food was wonderful....the whole trout was excellent as was the rack of lamb.....salads were terrific....loved the entire restaurant...hgigh on our list
Started with the roasted oysters and then had the pork chop. Oyster were awesome and the pork hop was mediocre. The two people I was with had similar opinions: great apps - average entrees. Overall the staff was very pleasant, but the restaurant was crowded and seating cramped.
We were running late for our 7PM reservations, but the host kindly understood and gave us plenty of leeway. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and promptly led to our table. I must admit my heart sank a bit when we got to our seats - it was situated in an awkwardly busy pathway near some steps when I had hoped for a cozier spot. But she was ever so gracious and said that it was no problem, so if it was fine with her, it was fine with me. As for the food, her suggestion of the chickpea salad was an excellent choice, and we shared our two delicious entrees and the decadent dessert. In the end though, it wasn't the food, service, or atmosphere that made the night, it was simply being with her that made it a perfect night to remember.
The food was great and service was kind of slow because it was very busy which is understandable. However they forgot to add a candle to one of the desserts for my girlfriends birthday.
Delicious food - everyone loved their dish! Restaurant has awkward layout, the next time I would specify my seating. Terrific service!!
Great service, terrific food, beautiful environment. A bit small and noisy, but in the end a wonderful dining experience.
Very pleasant dining experience with excellent service. Food was very tasty.
