Service is outstanding. Food always well prepared and tasty.
We went here for our anniversary and loved it. Between the two of us, we had the burrata, seafood linguine appetizer, salmon, tuna, and s'mores bread pudding - everything was excellent. And the service was knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. Highly recommend!
Loved it! Everything we ate was overly delicious. Appetizers, 4 different entrees and the s'more bread breeding. The waiter was the best one we ever had. Friendly, impformative but not in our way. Mentioned we were going to a Paul McCartney concert and he put on a Beatles playlist.
When we arrived at 5 on Sunday afternoon we were the only ones there. Was surprising but filled up as we were leaving. Looking forward to returning.
For lunch try the hangar steak salad or the Greek salad with grilled shrimp. Fantastic!
This has been a favorite of ours for dinner and special occasions. The food, service and friendly energy were always wonderful. Something was really off this time. Two of the four main courses were hardly edible, the rest of the food was mediocre, the music was really loud--they were accomodating and turned it down for us. The energy in the restaurant was definitely not its usual. It was disapponting as it was a special occasion, and we were hoping it would continue to be a favorite restaurant for us.
Food is always excellent! Staff very friendly & always remember you. Only issue I have is a not so savvy server who is not very familiar w/food or even the menu.
The food was great, we got the big eye tuna and steak and both were amazing. I was informed by my fiancé the tres leche cake is to die for.
Giorgio's is an NYC classic! Always an incredible experience.
I have to say I had one of the best meals at Giorgio's I've had in a long time. My husband and I went for restaurant week . I had the salad, filet mignon (done to perfection), and the best dessert ever, (chocolate bread pudding). We ordered cocktails at the bar with fried Sicilian olives and that too was delicious!
Ambience was great. Service was great. A slam dunk! Will go back!
Did not love or ambiance. Very dark and mediocre.
Once again, we chose Giorgio's to celebrate our anniversary, and once again, we weren't disappointed! The hostess, Amy, remembered us from last year, as did James, our excellent waiter, who treated us to a champagne toast. Our meal was excellent, well prepared, beautifully presented. The Restaurant Week menu was an exceptional value, with items selected from their regular menu, as well as special dishes. We're planning to return again, and not going to wait a year to do so!
I brought two friends who had never been to the restaurant and they were very impressed with it.
Great dinner! Great service! A bit loud for comfortable conversation ... but still
A lot of fun.
We had a Saturday night dinner here. The waiter was very nice and attentive. It was a slow night so lacked the vibe we wanted
The scallops were fantastic; the steak was okay. We enjoyed the bread pudding. It was all fine but with so many places in Mew York it is not memorable enough to go again for us.
Nice food; on a Friday night, service too stressed (should be planned for); hard-edged walls meant noise level was ... just about requiring shouting. Not relaxing despite very good food and price point.
The scallops were delicious, as were the Smores dessert. So glad I got to experience your restaurant during MY restaurant week!
Another great meal at Giorgio's. Come for the food, but the happy hour is quite reasonable with good beer, wine and cocktail specials. restaurant week menu was a winner, and as always great food. Excellent service and waitstaff. Highly recommended!
Prices and menu were very different from the online menu/$. House glass of wine for dinner started at $12 and small pour. Decor is outdated....too dark in restaurant. Felt restaurant was misrepresented online.
Giorgio's has delicious food, with a menu ranging from old-line Italian to burgers. The calamari fritti was delicious, and my pasta with wild mushrooms and spinach was a treat. My friends both enjoyed their arugula salad with sliced steak. It is a somewhat dark restaurant unless you are sitting in the small area in the front. But inviting nonetheless. The bar looked like a top spot to eat and drink. We went there for restaurant week, ironically, none of us chose that menu. It did bring us there, however, and we will return.
Great Service and one of the best real dining places in the city
I am a broken record when it comes to Giorgio's. You can't go wrong. Great friendly knowledgeable servers. Real warm and welcoming Host. This outing was with my millennial son...who absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere...
We went to Giorgio's for Restaurant Week and were thrilled! The food was incredible and the greeter and waitstaff were all very friendly and professional. We sat at a small table on the side, so it wasn't too loud, but some places in the middle of the restaurant seemed like they would've been a bit louder.
It is OK restaurant. nothing is "very good" (compare to a Michelin star restaurant) but only fair. No desire to go again.
Had an amazing night here experiencing NY Restaurant Week with my love.
I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious and our waiter Brock was really pretty wonderful. I can't of course forget about our host Amy who made us feel at home the moment that we walked in.
Stand out Dish: Baked Oysters
Great food, company and service. Happy, full and grateful.
We had the absolute best time at Giorgios. Brian, Louann and Brock took care of us like royality and the food was "best ever"! My husband is a veal parm nut and when it came out on the bone and perfectly seasoned, he was so happy that his friends tasted it and agreed that it was the best. Louanne suggested the roasted oysters which everyone swore were divine(a word they don't usually use) and the s'more bread pudding for dessert was really a"to die for". Brock at the bar knows his stuff and prepared special drinks for each of us. Wish I lived closer but since I don't, I would rather hit this place then try any others. Can't wait to go back. YOU WILL LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!
This was our first time at Giorgio's -- NOT our last -- we loved it. Wonderful food, wonderful surprise -- it's a sleeper -- will definitely return !!!!! Thanks to all who made this such a memorable dining experience.
The best bread pudding I've tasted in NYC thus far!
Amazing!!! The staff was fantastic!! I don't think I've ever been treated so great at a restaurant. And the food... perfection!!!! This is definitely a place I'm recommending to everyone. A must-eat when visiting NYC, or living in NYC for that matter. Not enough good things to say. :)))))
This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants. The deep red of the interior and subdued lighting makes this a very adult and sexy restaurant. The staff is fantastic at making the meal a truly enticing dining experience. The food never ceases to excite your mouth. The broiled oysters with shallots and truffle oil is one of the best appetizers in the city. The macaroni and cheese has a really interesting and smoky flavor that makes it a winner.
Service was friendly - too friendly. Touchy, feely waitress was pleasant but was not on top of her game. No bread, utensils not replaced, etc..
Food was quite good. Restaurant was very loud - large party of 12 and many hard surfaces made for unpleasant atmosphere. Live jazz at front of restaurant was also, glaringly loud. Couldn't imagine sitting at the bar or in front of restaurant while the not so talented saxophonist was performing.
Excellent service, with a dark and sensuous vibe. Oldies music somewhat clashed with the red-lacquered furnishings. Tastefully decorated overall though, with a beautiful large bouquet in the middle of the room. Wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. Food was good, but not exceptional. On the whole, I would say that it was slightly overpriced, but would recommend the experience.
The food and service here are always topnotch!
I have been to this restaurant many times over the years and I like its neighborhood quality and friendly atmosphere. The food is always good and service is fine as well.
Nothing special, actually a bit disappointing. The room was too loud for quiet conversation. The food preparation was ok but there are a lot of better options.
Excellent dining experience! Amazing food, incredible food, outstanding wine list. My only small complaint is that it was extremely noisy in the dining room; there were a lot of people in a small space and the acoustics in the dining room aren't great. Other than that, wonderful; would highly recommend!
The food is delicious and the wine list is very reasonable price point. Portion are generous and ask about the soup of the day. We had the beet and strawberry, very good
The place is ok, food is good, service is good. I wanted a quiet place to dine--when we arrived we were told there was a party in the back for someone leaving the job after many years. It was noisy but tolerable until the partygoers started to leave and stop to drink/chat in the bar area. They were intrusive and LOUD---the manager/owner should have moved them outside. If you are having a party for an employe do it around your normal hours so as not to disrupt the regular diners or close the whole place for your party.
Hidden gem in Gramercy
Great restaurant . Good food, good service, classy. The only change I'd recommend is the music. Instead of pop, maybe some jazz or crooner classics
Great food, atmosphere and service. Veal parm was huge and really delicious . Would definitely return
