We have been there 6 to 10 times Last night was our first disappointing meal. I'd rather not go through every detail other than to say the mussels were good But everything else was meh The server was absent for the most part and pushy and annoying when he was. So meh
Good food in a quiet & attractive ambiance. Very attentive service.
Excellent service and even better food
Very nice dinner with my adult children. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the bread pudding was fabulous
Celebrated my wife’s birthday there last Friday. Was nice to get away from the touristy spots around Times Square. Service was friendly and top notch all the way. Food was simply outstanding. Waiter (Ernesto) did an excellent job describing menu items. He described the veal parmiagiana as decadent - and he was right. Two people in our party ordered that and it was amazing. Wife had salmon - outstanding. I had pasta - when I couldn’t make up my mind, Ernesto brought me appetizer sizes of both, and both were out of this world. I travel extensively on business, so I do get to a lot of restaurants around the country. It’s nice to break away from the standard format of the high end steakhouses, and the rushed experience and over priced menus of the theater district restaurants. This place is now on our “always visit” list when we go to NYC. Great neighborhood location and value with prices. Go there!
We've been to Giorgio's in the past and each time it does not disappoint. The food and friendly service makes you want to come back over and over.
Our food was delicious--pasta w/sausage special, tuna tartare, ink squid pasta with seafood, cheesecake. Service was excellent and very accommodating.
Great ambiance, quiet upscale and you can sit and chat for a long time. Food is always tasty and quality. Fun bar. Service is excellent as are the drinks and wine list.
Mediocre at best. I frequent quality establishments with 4 to 5 star ratings and this restaurant, from a food and cost perspective, falls flat. It is a 3 Star experience and overpriced. Service was great.
Great food - we had the NYC restaurant week 3 course menu which was delicious and very good value. Attentive, knowledgable service. Cosy, candlelit ambiance. Nice place to have a high quality, special meal but without pretentiousness or high prices.
Our group of 5 had a hit or miss experience with restaurant week lunch. Lobster bisque was underwhelmed. Calamari was excellent. Sea scallops were perfectly prepared while hanger steak was generally overcooked. Gelato and sorbet were good but s'more bread pudding was overly sweet. All in all, it's good but not outstanding.
This is our favorite "special occasion" restaurant in our neighborhood. Food is always delicious, service is attentive and gracious, and it has a classic sophisticated ambience.
Everyone on staff very nice and professional. One of my guests had some dietary restrictions and waiter could not have been nicer accommodating her. Another guest had to leave after ordering and they cancelled his meal without blinking. Risotto was terrific. Not fancy decor but clean and comfortable. Very good value. I will be going back.
Met a special person and had a great time. Food was on point!
Area to wait wasn't very welcoming, staff werent too attentive and almost forgot about one of our jackets. Food wasn't great - I found the meet too chewy and couldn't finish it. Dessert was average for a sorbet.
Restaurant Week lunch menu is delish: we had lobster bisque, calamari, steak w brussel sprouts and au gratin, with a s'more bread pudding for dessert. Will definitely go back; been there 15 years.
Best bread pudding ever! Staff and service is great and prompt. Small and cozy. Great for lunch or dinner
Great meal and service. Came during restaurant week and choices were excellent, didn't even need to check regular menu. Went for optional wine pairings, also well selected. Highly recommended.
Salmon was greasy and just OK. My pappardelle with lamb ragout was absolutely incredible! My friends enjoyed their lamb shank special.
Super good, hearty Italian. They seemed way undertaffed or just not efficient service. Took a while to grab a drink at table and waiter didn’t even apologize for the wait. Bartender said it’d be better to come on a weekday. Seriously, would still go back for the pasta.
Great opportunity to try Georgios during restaurant week! Great food and nicely presented food
Great food, the scallops were incredible and the lamb shank was one of the best I've had. Nice paintings on the wall and good service. BUT, there is little to be said about their sound absorption. It was downright deafening in the back. There was a party of 12 on one side and a party of 4 on the other, and people were literally yelling during normal conversation. More like a nightclub level than the fine dining we were hoping for. I have been here many times and will go back, but hope the management will look into some of the sound volume issues. I would not choose this place for a romantic night where you want conversation again. Kind of bummed.
A neighborhood gem with great food that's losing it's charm. Went for an early dinner and enjoyed our main course (bone in veal parm). By dessert, the restaurant was in full swing and the noise level unacceptable. We asked for the check and enjoyed dessert at a nearby restaurant. Also observed a couple get seated at the table next to us and leave because of the noise.
Courteous and personal staff. Loved hearing their recommendations and the specials, they are truly passionate about the food they are serving! Had the octopus (good sized portion), tuna tartare, squid ink pasta, a gnocchi special (that was absolutely amazing) and the s’mores dessert. Everything was fantastic
Loved the scene. Entrees were on the blander side.
I went here for a first date and was very impressed. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The wait staff was especially knowledgeable and were able to recommend excellent food choices. The dishes (scallops for her, steak for me) were exceptionally well prepared and very tasty! It was quiet enough for us to converse easily and the staff was helpful, but not fawning. All in all a great date place!
Everything was really perfect. The staff was so friendly and attentive and the food was fabulous. Only thing to change is that it needs a bit more light. We will be back.
Lovely cozy spot with superb quality and preparation of our salmon and tuna entrées
My go to poace
Always a fabulous meal here!
Best Italian meal we had in our NYC visit, and we had some very good food. We were here for the freeze and the breeze on New Years Eve 2018. We ate here after our flight got cancelled. What a great experience. We had cacio e pepe and veal parmesan, both of which were among the best we have had. Great sauce, great food and excellent service. Thank you Amy and Ernesto! It was like a neighborhood haunt with very nice people serving very good food. The wine and the Manhattan were top notch. The bread and the cheese plate were very tasty. We will come back every time we visit NYC. This is among the top two meals we had in Manhattan, and we ate at a top a sushi restaurant and at a 1 star Michelin restaurant. This should be on everyone's list of top places to visit.
Giorgio's never fails! We enjoyed an amazing selection of artisanal cheeses, oysters, cacio e pepe, and veal parmesan. We'll be back again and again!
Consistent, wonderful service.
Great Menu, variety!
We had a wonderful meal and great conversation with Sasha. We’re out of town folks that came on a recommendation. We’d defintely eat there again; wonderful food and ambiance!
Have been here numerous times Good is always outstanding and service is top notch an all around wonderful place
An unusual place that makes you feel like you are back in the 50s or 60s in a good way! The food is really delicious and the server was also the bartender who was proud to make us the hand crafted cocktail. Give this place a try and you are sure to like it!
Giorgio’s of Gramercy never disappoints , good food, great service. Great local spot. Live Jazz on Monday’s is always fun.
Very good food and service, but extremely loud. This place is only for those who don't mind a very loud scene.
Delicious and service was great
