I was sold at once on two specials: butternut squash soup and angel hair pasta with chicken, broccoli, and red pepper - both were great choices and made for a very nice lunch. My server was excellent. Good to have this place near where I work.
The four of us had a great time at Giorgio's last Saturday night. We were first shown a table for 4 next to a group of 20 celebrating a birthday. It was extremely noisy, so before we sat down, I requested another table. We were seated in the adjacent room and were all very thankful for the shift over to a quieter space. We had great discussions and the food -Porterhouse steak, salmon, and scallops were excellent. Thanks!!
Friday night restaurant packed. Needed to move to a less buzzy table
Really excellent cuisine and friendly attentive service! We will be back!
Amy was a wonderful host. The food was creative. The atmosphere like a “local”. This is a keeper!
We have been here three times before and always had a quality meal- make it four. All the appetizers were good buy the octopus stood out. We were a party of seven and the family ordered everything from halibut fish special, to the pasta with boar and mushrooms and even a hamburger- Nothing disappointed. The waiter Ernesto was excellent as well and gave great opinions when asked. Nick although not there this night gave us a great table. All in all another wonderful experience at Georgio’s- we will be back!
Overall good experience. Been here several times. Salads were good, tuna app was delicious and mains were good except for the Cioppino. Fish was very dry and sauce could have used more flavor.
Giorgio's has an intimate setting and comfortable. Food was very good, lamb chops, seafood stew, sea bass, etc. Not so impressed with the veal parm. A lot to eat but the veal was a little dry, covered with cheese sauce and pasta. Looked better than tasted. Not terrible, but expected better as in the other dishes. Overall a very good place to dine.
Wonderful service. Loved open kitchen. Scallops were delicious! Desserts were scrumptious.
We loved everything about this restaurant except the noise level was very high on a Sat night.
Came here for my engagement and I would have picked no other place. Unreal food, service and ambiance. Can’t say enough about this place.
Very sad situation on Valentine’s Day. I was going to do a birthday party here but now I’ve canceled that. Here was the experience.
First, we were seated at 9:10 for an 8:15 reservation. I realize Valentine’s Day is a tough situation for restaurants but this was exceptionally chaotic.
Worse than that, they lied to us about our food. They had a land and sea option which included Filet Mignon. My girlfriend and I ordered the land and sea but what we received was not filet mignon and it was obvious. We asked the waiter about it and he said “no, that’s filet.” We then asked the host about the filet and she informed us that they had run out of the filet and that it was indeed not a filet. I understand this can happen. What I can never understand is how you could lie to your guests and still charge them for the filet.
Truly a shame, I’ve always been a huge fan of this place as has been my entire family who all lives in NYC. But without them doing something to make up for this experience I would never consider going there again and I would say the same for the rest of our fam.
First time. Excellent 6:30 dinner. Pleasant helpful staff. Good medium sized wine list with fair prices. Glad we tried the 2016 Turley Zinfandel (juvenile vines). Outstanding salmon/tuna crudo. Very good lamb and chicken entrees. S’mores bread pudding was good but on the dry side. Eager to return.
A lovely restaurant that is good for a date. Low lighting ad warm red walls create a lovely ambiance where the noise level is low enough to have a good conversation. The Branzino was prepared perfectly and they always have interesting items on the daily specials.
This was our 4th time at Giorgio's! We love it. Great ambience, banquettes, decor, noise level - great wait staff and really delicious food. The best was the cioppino with a saffron broth! Also had delicious grilled octopus and arugula salad with goat cheese. Giorgio's is a favorite for special occasions or just a lovely night out.
Great food and exceptional service. They made our dinner in NYC a real occasion!
good service, good food! what else do you need for a great evening :)
This dinning experience was just what I looking for after a long day of walking the streets of New York.
Consistently good food and service in an intimate atmosphere. A real neighborhood gem.
Went for dinner during restaurant week, food was excellent especially for the value. Service was exceptional.
Food was very tasty, portions were generous, service friendly. Very, very good neighborhood restaurant, and worth a trip from elsewhere. Not strictly Italian, and all the better for it, giving customers a choice of well-prepared meat, fish, or pasta dishes.
Went for restaurant week because I'd always been curious and thought it would be expensive. In fact, prices are quite reasonable and I will go back for sure when it's not Restaurant Week. The service was cordial and attentive, not obsequious. The food was amazing. Lovely setting. All around great experience.
Everyone was so nice and friendly!. It felt like someone ‘s home! Great service and I had never been there before .
Came for restaurant week. Had the tuna/salmon tartare, lamb shank, and gelato. Every course was great, particularly the lamb which was fall apart and great comfort food on what was a chilly night. Second time here, service is still amazing. Great restaurant for a date.
We googled restaurants for specific parameters—location, decibel level, and reviews. We were not disappointed—perfect for our party of five esp seated at a round
Service and food were excellent. Only criticism is tables too close with not enough room for waiters/patrons to get around easily—-layout could be improved.
Ambiance was otherwise cozy and perfect for a frigid night. Thank you!
But for the noise level (which seems routinely high, everywhere, with shouting millenials eating nearby) the experience would have been perfect! EXCELLENT food, lovely ambience, good service. I used to eat here with some regularity and then it dropped out of the picture; given this week's experience, it is back on my map!
Attentive service and generous portions at this white tablecloth Italian classic.
Came here on a Friday night for Restaurant Week. It was crowded but we were glad we had a reservation because we were give a great table by the window. We had two cocktails which were both great and strong. Everything we ate was so delicious and I would definitely come back here again!
Amazing food but the service is what I would come back for. Everyone is very kind, accommodating, and attentive. We were here for restaurant week & the restaurant was fairly quiet & intimate. The music was great too! The s’mores bread pudding was my favorite ❤️
This place never fails! I haven't been here for a few years, though I went there often in the past when I lived in Manhattan. Wanted to take my good friend to a lovely place for lunch after she had a bad fall. Hope to go there again soon.
Everything was amazing - food, wine and service! We even splurged and got dessert. Highly recommend, I will def be back.
Portions were large!
Food was good.
The lobster crab bisque was to die for. The experience was outstanding.
This was one of the most fabulous dining experience I’ve ever had in the city. From the top down the staff was amazing. Bradley was so accommodating of our request for a table in a quiet corner for my 85 year old Grandma. Our server Alicia was attentive and friendly. The food was top notch. We will be back soon!
As a vegetarian, I usually have no problem dining at an Italian restaurant. However, at Giorgio’s it was impossible. Their daily risotto has veal ragu in it. Usually I always opt for the risotto and a salad because they’re both vegetarian but I was offered no alternative. I decided my second choice would be the daily pasta special - the gnocchi, but only in an appetizer portion. Although they stated the pasta could be ordered appetizer size, the aloof and bored waitress claimed that didn’t apply to the daily pasta. Unamused, I ordered the farmers salad and burrata. While good, the cheese was definitely not worth $19 price tag and the salad had no flavor. I would only come back for happy hour.
Amazing venue, amazing food. Perfect evening.
Great neighborhood place, food was terrific and our waiter couldn’t have been more thoughtful. I’ve passed by the restaurant many times-the scaffolding is a hinderance. Don’t let that stop you. You won’t be disappointed.
Great food and service, but not the ambience I was expecting. Expected it to look a little more upscale.
This place is always warm and welcoming with wonderful food. I have come here for years and will continue to come back.
Reliably delicious; service wonderful. And diners can hear each other!
