Gino's Steakhouse - Dyer
Lobster tail was under cooked and raw in areas.
When we went, we were seated in the lounge during an entertainment event. We were not presented with an opportunity to sit somewhere quieter, which put a small damper on my wife & I's first date night in months. Otherwise, the food was great, our server was great, and very much enjoyed our evening.
Everything about our meal was outstanding, especially our server Josh. He was very attentive to our needs striking the appropriate balance between coming too often and not stopping by enough. Our dining experience was excellent, although we had a few loud tables near us. We did not say anything because we did not want to put a damper on the good times of others.
Ginos is always great! Lisa is the best! We always feel like family at Gino's!
Ginos is an amazing place weather you're there for a family dinner or a romantic night for two this place is sure to be an amazing experience
Waitresss did a great job. Noise level was a little bit annoying. Trouble finding entrance.
I'd have to say our crab legs were salty but they tried their best to make up; the service and Mgmt were great! 2 meals were great and 2 not so great but we will try again. They have us other crab legs still salty but we figured they were salt water crabs and because they backed them the salt remained....drinks are amazing.
Wonderful food. Atmosphere great.
It was my wife and I first wedding anniversary. We had a great time at Gino’s and we certainly plan on returning.
Our waiter was not attentive to our water. One guest had to drink another’s since there was no refill unless asked. The steak for one was undercooked so much that it was cold inside. The other was sent back because it was not done enough. Asked for tartar sauce and told there wasn’t any for the perch. Came back 5 minutes later said he found some.
Gino’s never disappoints! Outstanding food and service! Met two other couples for dinner Saturday evening. Four of us had filets, one prime rib and a salmon dinner. Everyone was raving about their entree. The service was fantastic. Never an empty water glass at our table. Great place to go with friends and family.
Had my mom's birthday lunch here and it was fantastic. Food was great as always, and our waitress was extraordinary! She put our cake in the fridge, placed a sparkling bday candle on it and even cut up and boxed our leftovers!! It was a great day.
Always love dining at Gino's in Dyer. Lisa is the BEST! The staff is amazing! Can't wait for the remodel to be finished!
Excellent food! Excellent service. Very nice restaurant for a quiet night out in NWI.
Out favorite place to go! From the employees to the food nowhere else can compete! Thank as always for an enjoyable evening!
There’s construction which made it a little confusing about where to enter. Food was excellent as always, as was the service.
The food was very good. There are current renovations going on. The air conditioning did not seem to be working in most of the restaurant and it was HOT!
My dad and I had a splendid time at Gino's. I had deliciously marinated lamb chop lollipops which I immensely enjoyed. My dad had chargrilled ribs which he said were finger linking good. :)
I order the crusted sea bass which was very delicious but $39 really? That was just to expensive so if and when I do come back to Gino's Steakhouse I think I will just stick to
the appetizers. My bill for the sea bass, glass of tea, coffee and a piece of cake $73. That was outrageous.
There was one party there that was really loud but the waitress tried seating us away from them. Otherwise everything was good!
We enjoyed our meal especially the peppers and bread brought to the table.
It was rather pricey but we would return
They have a great menu selection, quality meats/seafood and good service.
The restaurant was very quiet and cute. Service was speedy and great.
I took my husband to the Gino’s in Dyer Indiana for Father’s Day. Loved everything except the crab cake. The crab cakes had too much filler. We’re from the Maryland/Virginia area, so we know what a real crab cake tastes like. Lump Crab 🦀
Our steaks were tasty and prepared as ordered! Hubby liked the shrimp cocktail and the cocktail sauce had a zing to it and he loved it.
My New York Strip with Lobster Butter was amazing and my Jalapeño Margarita was delicious & spicy!! My husband had the ribeye with a lobster tail and said it was amazing. Can’t wait to go there again.
The food was excellent; service very good. No complaints but a comment that the tables are a bit close together. Wasn't a problem just something we observed.
Jennifer was wonderful as she always is! Love the ribs and the chocolate cake!
This was best experience for a date night I had in a long time. Steaks and double baked potato was outstanding!
Always good place to relax at the beautiful bar, and enjoy a great menu of lots of delicious food
I have never been disappointed in this place. However, our recent dinner was interrupted by a table of 12 people who were OVERLY LOUD. I couldn't even hear myself give my order to our server. I wish the server of the 12 table would have asked her table patrons to be courteous to those around them that were trying to have a romantic ambiance dinner. That was my only disappointment. Food is always great!
Enjoyed the steaks! Food is always excellent as well as the service.
I went to Gino's-Dyer several years ago and was very disappointed. The restaurant was loud and cramped and the the steak I ordered was a small, gray, piece of sadness. I vowed never to come back. I recently changed my mind when I learned that the ownership/management had changed and I decided to give this place another shot.
Upon our arrival I was happy to see that the interior was changed dramatically. It seems more partitioned, allowing for a little more privacy and less noise. The service was relatively prompt and very friendly. They brought out bread and cooked peppers in oil. It was a nice, old-school touch that I appreciated.
I ordered the 24 oz porterhouse rare (actually I said very rare, cool center). My wife ordered the king crab legs. When our food arrived I received, once again, a small gray piece of sadness (that cost me $46). Let me point out that the steak was cooked to order and I was frankly pleased with actual quality of the meat itself. The problem was the steak was only approximately 1" thick. The steak was simply too thin to get a proper sear on it. If Gino's is going to charge downtown prices they should serve downtown cuts of meat. My wife enjoyed her crab legs.
Overall, I would say that Gino's gets several things right but it's not quite at the level it could be or should be given their pricing. Recommend with some reservations.
We were seated in the bar and it was very noisy. Next time I visit I will ask to be seated away from the bar area.
Went there to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were very pleased with the whole experience. The food was excellent, but my waitress made the evening even better.
Delicious dinner and some really great service. For not being downtown, it is relatively pricey but the food is delicious. I would definitely come back here again. My wife had the video and I had a cowboy ribeye. Both cooked perfectly.
Be aware: Gino's is a very good restaurant, but for special occasions only. The service staff is wonderful and the food is very good. However, 2 couples for $200 is not something one can do spontaneously. Pastas were $28-$32. Steaks were $40-$60. Risotto was $40. Drinks, apps, desserts of course can raise the bill. Was a bit surprised by the price point, but we enjoyed our dinner.
It's really nice and likely would do better in Chicago (my personal opinion). It's nicer looking inside but the customers don't necessarily dress for how nice it is inside of this establishment. I'm sorry for a fine dining restaurant and some showing up in knee high Ugg boots or velour tracksuits paired with some people who still go out to a nicer restaurant in a sport coat makes for a hodge podge type of clientele. The wait staff, host/hostesses all super cordial and polite, wonderful truly.
The food is great and though they charge Chicago pricing in Northwest suburban Indiana, it still held up for quality. NWI is very limited to nice restaurants, so it's nice that Gino's is a constant staple in the Region for good food. I just wish people would be a little more self aware.
We had ordered the Gino's special steak with encrusted roquefort, the King Prime Rib (too much for one person) and Risotto with fresh bay scallops. Everything we delicious except the temperature in the area where we sat (sweltering) and the loud customers but that's really my chief complaint. Delicious food and wonderfully accommodating staff.
My guest and I both werent satisfied with the flavoring of our bar drinks. The drinks seemed all water. The bartender said there were "caps or something" that only provided one shot. However, I have had bar drinks at Gino's all the way back to the Harvey days and the drinks never tasted so raunchy. A person at the table next to us also complained that his drink had too much Coca Cola in it.
First time issue with drink flavor. MUST be fixed.
The signature Filet Mignon was 100% perfect as always. Peppers were awsome! Service by the waitress who works 2/week was impeccable (she is from Hobart) .
Only complaint was taste quality of bar drinks... Hopefully it was a one night glitch.
Will gladly be back next month for the MEAT!!
