Gilt Bar Ratings and Reviews
It was nice, the food was just ok and it was so dark it was hard to see my menu. We were super close to the table next to us and they were watching videos on high volume, so that put a damper on things. I don't think I would go back for dinner, but a late night drink would be fun.
I was extremely disappointed with my visit to Gilt Bar after researching and being overly excited to dine in the Library with my husband for his Bday. I called to the restaurant to make reservations because I couldn't find the Library on your site and when I googled it Gilt Bar kept coming up so I wanted to make sure they were the same place. While making my reservations I was told there was a possibility that the Library may not be open on that night due to a private event and to call on Tuesday to verify that it would be open to the public. I called a total of 3 times last week to verify that the Library would in fact be open to the public and each time I was told that it would be open to the public and to let the greeter know that I want to be seated in the Library upon arrival. Of course it wasn't open :.. ( and to make matters worse we were seated alongside the wall in the banquettes and my husband kept getting hit in the back of the head every time someone walked by. We asked if it was possible to be moved to a booth and were told that the booths were reserved but that we could be put at one of the tables in the center of the restaurant. The seat change didn't make a lot of difference because the tables were so close that every time someone got up they were bumping our chairs. The waitress was a bit on the slower side. It seemed like it took her forever to come back every time she left our table. We ended up missing the Blueman Group performance. The food however was amazing and the kitchen staff got everything out to our table very quickly once our orders were taken. The restaurant was very noisy which I wasn't expecting and very cramped.
Gilt Bar was once again a great place! There was 7 of us for a ladies holiday dinner. Our waiter was absolutely great and provided recommendations for drinks and food for us. Also love that’s it’s BYOB and you just give a glass of wine away per bottle. Highly recommend Gilt Bar for any date, ladies get together or special event!
I first started to have a drink at the bar while I was waiting for my friend to join me for dinner. I didn’t feel as though the bartender was very warm and accommodating and he really just seem to not want to be there. The hostess was nice and we were a bit alarmed at the noise level. For just the two of us it was really difficult to talk. The wait staff was pretty good. I got the chicken and it was very odd and mediocre at best. My friend got the mushroom pasta which she enjoyed. I feel as though the pace of the meal especially the drinks I had much to be desired. I will not return on a future visit
Our server was incredible and the food was excellent! It was super dark inside, creating a certain ambience, but it was a bit too dark for those not on a date... It was pretty loud, and it is a bit tight. Overall, our server and the food made this a high rating!
I had a good experience at Gilt Bar. I knew it was pretty difficult to get seated in the Library downstairs, but after being put on the wait list, my party was able to get seated down there after we sat and had some drinks. The service was great even though they were very busy that night.
Great table on the raised dias on the left at the back for a family meal with visitors from the UK.
Love the cocktails. The food was great and there was something for everyone from the burger to the mussels and the pasta. But the best bit was the beetroot salad.
Loved it! Had to flag server down for the check but it was really busy by the time we were done so I do not blame him at all. I had the truffle pasta and charred broccoli which was rich and indulgent. went for a birthday and they certainly didn't forget. The host wished my date a happy birthday and there was a sparkler in our brownies. worth every penny
Great ambiance, drinks, and menu. I had the muscles to start which were amazing...and the salmon and broccoli (broccoli was very good). Would definitely recommend Gilt. Also, our server Keri (sp?) was awesome and gave great recommendations! Will definitely be back.
