Really disappointed in staff this go around, and we really enjoy this place. Food was great as always, service was however subpar. Waitress got our orders wrong, took an excessive time to receive our drinks when it wasn’t even busy....even forgetting we had ordered drinks on one occasion. Additionally felt rushed out when we wanted to order dessert. Was disappointed as we had taken friends here for the first time and service was crummy.
Great food. Great service
Pre hockey game Birthday celebration. Good time. Bartender was great! Good times good eats!
After having to wait for a table to be cleared for almost 15 minutes, we were seated and order drinks. Drinks arrived and we placed our food order. When food arrived it was lukewarm at best and I ordered the burnt end platter. It was totally disgusting and came with garlic bread which was the best thing on the plate. The burnt ends were really not burnt ends at all but simply cuts of beef that had been charred on the grill. We did order the parmesan garlic fries and those were very good. There is nothing much more to say but we will not be going back.
Friday night dinner before Griffins game. It was good for quick bite
Birthday this restaurant is terroble
We ordered everything that sounded tasty on the menu and had cocktails and beer. At the end of the night the $150 check didn’t even phase us. It was worth it!
We've been to Gilly's in the past when it was primarily a seafood restaurant, however it has changed to a bar-b-que place. The food was very good, with good choices of a variety of barbequed foods and very good sauces. Drinks were fairly priced. Somewhat loud, but it was St. Patty's day. Will definitely go back.
It was 50% off oysters and it was a great deal! We ate 4 dozen! YUM!!
The food was mostly good- I'll come back for the burnt ends brisket. The service was sub par- drinks came after the appetizer. Appetizers were only partially delivered and had to ask for the rest. Appetizers not made to our request. Waitress was slow to check back on us. When we asked the waitress about an item her response was "I have no idea ". The restaurant was not even full so there's no excuse for poor service.
Menu is a little limited. Hamburgers and tacos are very good.
Went there for my husband birthday and it was not good. We made reservations, but they were not needed it was seat yourself. We sat down before two other tables but they were taken care of first before us. Food was pretty good but our waitress was non existent. We had to ask for a to-go box 3 times! We have not had good luck at multiple Gilmore Collections venues. We will be going elsewhere for special occasions for now on.
If you are looking for a quiet corner, don't look here. Very busy place with yummy smoked meats. Will definitely come back to the BOB to experience all it has to offer!
They ran out of the sampler platter on a Friday night at 7pm. Service was slow.
This place is hit or miss. 2 weeks ago sat at the bar & had great service & food was good. This time - sat in the restaurant & service was HORRIBLE. Waited & waited & waited for everything. And the wings were dried out & over smoked. The "armadillo egg" which is a jalepeno stuffed w/ cream cheese, coated in chorizo & wrapped in bacon, then smoked it. It had zero flavor of any ingredient except smoke. It was so dry it was like eating sawdust.
The reason & rated it GOOD for food was b/c of the Poblano Corn Spoon Bread. It was AMAZING!! I would go there just to eat this. Yes, it's that good!!!
Always good but waiter had no knowledge of the Valentine's special
I did like that I could reserve a table on line and the service was really good. We ordered an armadillo egg and it didn't have that much taste. I also had the chicken tacos and they were small and I found a fairly big bone in mine. The coleslaw didn't have much taste either and the portion was extremely small.
Waitress was super slow and hardly came to our table. Food wasn’t anything special. Probably wouldn’t go back.
It is a nice atmosphere, but the food and service were average for the price. Cauliflower corn street tacos were fantastic, but the Hot Pot Shareable, and the Burnt Ends were way below par.
Disappointing...no longer the great seafood we came to appreciate from Gilly’s. Our table was not ready at our reservation time. The brisket on my taco had several pieces that were inedible—solid fat. The atmosphere—very loud. Service—marginal. Again, disappointing overall.
We really liked the Poblano Corn bread, and the Cheese fondue. The burger topped with brisket hit the spot.
This was our first time at Gilly’s and we were delighted. The atmosphere was cheerful and fun. Service was excellent - there instantly when we wanted and kind enough to grant us time to savor our drinks and meal at our rate. Amish chiciken and burger were excellent as was the broccoli salad.
Was disappointed at first that I wasn't going to get the crabcakes . The smoked food was very good. So I wasn't disappointed.
Excellent overall experience. Food was great and service was top notch.
Before concert meal, across street from the Van. Big concert crowd but reservation made for immediate seating. Good service, somewhat limited menu but food was very good. Nice selection of beers.
Gilly's food was great! We went right after a Christmas Bar Crawl, so we were bummed out they ran out of the beer we wanted. Overall, the food was delicious and the portions were huge!
Great experience, however I was surprised that most of the waitstaff was unfamiliar with how to use the Gilmore App.
The waiter, Colin, made the experience amazing.
You must like smoked food to appreciate this restaurant
Was disappointed with a reservation that they stuck us in a super tiny booth that was very uncomfortable. We had ordered the burnt ends and it was full of fat.
I must admit I was not impressed when my server returned to the table and told us they no longer had any smoked brisket.
This was 6:30 pm on a Saturday night! And they are a smoke house???
Well we had the port butt as a substitute and OMG it was FANTASTIC! The staff was very apologetic and even gave us a $10 GIFT CARD as a condolence.
So we are going back and looking forward to it!
Thanks, Gilly's at The B.O.B.
The food was just ok. Not the best I’ve had but not the worst either. I had the chicken street tacos with a side of slaw. The side was literally the size of a silver dollar. There wasn’t anything here that I would come back for.
Service was decent, my drink was strong and the food was tasty. We will definitely consider returning. One thing, our appetizer (bacon fries) was cold when we got it. They were delicious but I'm sure they are even better served hot (or even warm). My husband will not return food to the kitchen so we just munched on them cold. Still, a pleasant experience.
The drinks were great, staff was nice, food was not great, very loud.
The food here is good, but not gourmet-level. The prices are very reasonable. The location is perfect if you are in downtown for a concert.
We had dinner before heading to Dr. Grins. Food was very good. Service was very slow. Very loud inside, hard to have conversation with friends at the table.
Went there for my birthday. When they found out the discounted food. Very nice of them.
All the food was excellent! There were so many items on the menu I wanted to try, so I'll have to go back.
Great burnt ends and the bacon fries were unreal good!
The food was outstanding, and so was the service. We got there in time to enjoy happy hour for a little while o the drinks were reasonably priced. The highlight for me was 1/2 price oysters; I had six, then I had six more! Then we split the gumbo dinner and still had a helping to take home! We will be going back for sure.
We visited from out of town and picked Gilly's at random. They had just started a new menu that same day and it was amazing. It was the best corn bread we have ever had by far. The main courses were delicious also and very reasonably priced, the service was great and very friendly and prompt, and it was an overall great experience.
