The food is extremely good. We went to Gigi's to celebrate Saint Joseph's Day Table.
Very nice restaurant with excellent food and service. We will be back!
Great food, drinks and service. Intimate setting and friendly staff.
Excellent food and outstanding service. Waitress was Theresa. She was 👍
Awesome dinner .Great menu , great service . Best Italian ever
As usual a great experience.
We drive from Elma to Gigi’s for the good food and the live music. This last time it took an hour to plow through the snow, but it was worth it. The chicken liver appetizer was perfect....lasagna delicious. The butternut squash soup was especially welcome on this very cold evening, and I thoroughly enjoyed my scallop entree! Topping it all off was wonderful jazz with the Bobby Militello Quartet. (I should also mention our server, who couldn’t have been better. She was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, answered our questions patiently despite the full house, and made welcome suggestions. Four stars for Her, too!)
My teenage daughter and I were excited to treat my sister in law/Aunt and Niece /cousin to a nice dinner. We had received a gift certificate to your restaurant after the sudden passing of my husband and my daughter knew that her dad and I had spoke often about being able to enjoy a dinner at GiGi's. We had reservations and were seated immediately . We were asked if we were in a hurry or not . Once we answered that we were not in a hurry we felt as though we were given a low priority in the service we received . We felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff. As a family , all we wanted was to enjoy a nice dinner together without all the work and to be able to talk .
I felt as though I failed and showing my sister in law how thankful my daughter and I were for all they had done for us.
Great Food and great Music. We have been meaning to get here sooner, just couldn't. Glad we finally got a chance to try it and we will definitely be back.
GiGi's has become our favorite dining spot . Great food , great service , great music ( loved Girls Gone Mild ). We have enjoyed GiGi's many times and will look forward to the next time.
The fish was not done, the scampi was too spicy and the meatballs were dry. My family and I was very disappointed. I won’t go here again.
Great food and awesome live entertainment!
The wife and I had a night to ourselves. We had received a gift certificate from a client and decided to use it. The restaurant had a duo singing cover songs all evening. The specials menu was very appealing. Service was very good and attentive. I had the ribeye steak special, the wife had the Chicken Parm. The steak was perfectly cooked and was nearly fork tender. The chicken was fork tender. The chicken was perfect and so was the pasta. 8 outta 10 on the Parm. The Ribeye was served with grilled asparagus and cauliflower. Both done well and tasty. Also an 8/10. We will definitely go back again. If you're not into live music, don't go on a Saturday. Go for the food...
The food was really great and our server, Theresa, could not have been nicer or more helpful! I’m totally craving the special Xmas dish I had with lobster, polenta and ratatouille!
Pasta was under cooked , not a great welcome on arrival. To many other places to dine that really want your business
Wonderful food! Our server was friendly and Attentive. Will be going back again!
Good Italian cuisine with live music made for an enjoyable evening. Table was very small for 4 people. Our waiter was extremely friendly & may have been new as he lacked experience & expertise while taking our order. Overall the food & wines were very good & reasonably priced. The music was a good compliment to an enjoyable evening. I am certain that our server will improve with experience & highly recommend Gigi's Cucina Povera.
Went there for a date night and to see the live entertainment. The food was excellent and the music was great. Would definitely go back again.
The food was delicious and the ambiance was charming. Highly recommended for great Italian food
The specials were incredible! All our plates were exceptional.
I was there with friends on a Thursday night, it was not crowded. Waitress was very personable and helpful. We ordered a couple of starters, the chicken liver was very good. Stuffed peppers nice and hot. All four of us had different entrees, pasta, fish, scallops. All the entrees were good, sizeable portions. No room for dessert, but one tiramisu was ordered. Somewhat disappointing because it didn't have much flavor of coffee and was somewhat dry. All in all it was a nice dinner and service was good. I would definitely go back.
First of all, it was local restaurant week. We decided to give another try. We visited the restaurant two years ago and was not impressed. The server was complaining about how busy it was because of restaurant week. My wife's dinner arrived cold, had to send it back . Had to ask for bead with the meal. The server looked surprised that I would like bread. Never asked if I wanted another glass of wine. Desert (which we had to share) was very small. In fact the biscotti that was suppose to accompany the desert was cut in half! Really! Not coming back again. If you want great service , excellent food, but a little pricey..........go across the street to Sinatra's !!!!!!!!!!!!
Went during restaurant week. All items on the limited menu were great.
We have wanted to try Gi-Gi's for sometime. We went during Restaurant Week in October. I had made reservations for 7 pm and within minutes a table was ready for us. The waitress was prompt and very attentive checking on us throughout our dining experience. The food was delicious and served in timely fashion. A nice touch was the delicious bread with two dips that came with our drinks. Our second order of drinks came very slow and I still had 1/2 of my drink left when our desserts and coffee arrived. The table they sat the four of us at was a small card sized table. It was a bit cramped but we made do. Overall it was a pleasant experience and we will return in the future.
The food and service at this restaurant is absolutely phenomenal. Each time I'm here it's like a new experience. The food is beyond unique and enjoyable.
We go to Gigi's frequently but made sure to go on Restaurant week because they have the Bolognase on the menu. It is Amazing. Better than other local upscale restaurants where I have had it, including Sinatras and Olivers. Please put it on the regular menu!!! The sea salt Carmel gelato is also amazing. The bartender is great too. Nice wine menu too. Place was packed on a Thursday night. So nice them doing so well!
Food was just ok. Owner made some rude comments within earshot of my wife and I and others. Based on that I would not go back. I can get just ok food at a hundred other places in Buffalo
been here several times everything has always been very good
Gigi's just doesn't get it nor do they care. Have dines there whenever Bobby's playing and prior to BPO concerts. Never again. I'm not alone in remarking that they are DISORGANIZED, CANNOT HANDLE A FULL RESTAURANT, SERVICE IS SLOW AND MEALS TAKE AN HOUR AT BEST. Don't go hungry...don't make a reservation as they pay no attention to it, no sense of customer service, appreciation or repeat business. At least 8-10 people walked out this weekend in disgust. Owner/cook could care less. Good luck with that! Should not be on Open Table and emailing the restaurant privately is a waste of time.
I was disappointed in the service at GiGi's. We had a nice young man at the bar but he was replaced with a rude woman bartender who should not have been behind the bar. Their website said they had happy hour but the bartender said not tonight, we only do that now and again???!!!!
The chef kept coming out to sit at the bar with a friend but never came around to see how the meal was for patrons. Once seated for dinner, we had the young man as our server so the service improved.
The food was good, clams casino, very good, but because of the service experience and lack of interaction by the chef/owner I would not return.
Our experience dining at Gigi's is always fantastic. Rachel and Theresa are awesome servers; so friendly and warm, genuinely nice to our son. It is one of his favorite restaurants in Buffalo. This particular evening we took my Father-in-Law out for dinner and it was the Dine Out for Life event to benefit Evergreen Health. It was encouraging to see the place quite busy. The food was excellent as always. Even though not on the menu, my son requested steamed clams; the servers quickly checked to see if they could be made for him. We shared a dozen clams, of which my son ate 7 alone. The steak and salmon dishes were also excellent, perfectly cooked and seasoned. We always leave Gigi's happy and very full. It is an excellent restaurant with a warm and inviting staff. In short... warm, inviting atmosphere, happy, friendly staff, and a delicious menu with lots of great options.
Never had a bad meal here: food has always been good. Diners should ask for the bread tray: fresh bread with lively made- in-house condiments. Salads are especially fresh & lively. Waitress friendly,.uuhhm..chatty. (My favorite wait staff at this restaurant watches the table, keeps glasses full, dishes arrive & disappear without comment.)
This restaurant was amazing! The waiter was absolutely fantastic and extremely attentive. Since it was our first time our waiter took the time to go through the menu with us. This restaurant is truly a gem and I look forward to many more visit!
Food was subpar
Our meals were very good. I especially liked the soup.
Gigi's was VERY good. My wife and I LOVE Italian food and Gigi's really lived up. The service was very good and the food taste and presentation was great. The amounts were good too. A lot of food which was great for me and for my wife to be able to take home for the next day. The wine list was good and cocktails were creative and tasty. Would (and have) definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
This restaurant has offered consistent Italian/Sicilian food for quite some time. Food is always of good quality, appropriately priced and definitely prepared according to authentic Italian and Sicilian recipes. They have two or three specialty items not available elsewhere. We have down here five or six times in as many years and will certainly return again.
Lovely anniversary dinner. Our server Jon was awesome. Thanks!
Always a perfect dinner. Whether a small group or large one, Gigi's can handle it. Great ambiance and delicious food!
Nice neighborhood restaurant, homey atmosphere. Friendly staff, great service, good comfort food. There was live jazz the night my friends and I were there, it was the icing on the cake. Will go back and recommend highly.
