Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse - Rosemont Ratings and Reviews
Had only been to Gibson's in the past for dinner; however, this time we decided to try it for lunch. The food was terrific; there are lunch items less costly than the dinner items; the service was much better since the restaurant was not crowded for lunch. Also the benefit of eating a big lunch is that we ended up skipping dinner, and went to bed without feeling full of food.
I had the skirt steak for lunch, my wife had perch, and our friend had a cheeseburger. We shared the Gibson's chopped salad three ways for an appetizer. All of the entrees were great. We look forward to returning to Gibson's for lunch again.
Had a great meal. Started with a caprese salad followed by a tuna steak. Both were outstanding. Met the executive chef, Marco, who gave me a lesson on how they make real buffalo mozzarella by hand Wow! And special thanks to James who was great behind the bar. I highly suggest you go to Gibsons!!
Gibson's Rosemont is a December Tradition to celebrate a Work anniversary.
This was a the 5th year we had dinner and enjoyed the best Steak in the area, Chicago or Oak Brook.
I ll be at Hugos Chicago tonight we could not get a Gibson reservation for the time we needed.
We took my mom for her 75th birthday and then went to a show at Rosemont Theatre. Our waiter Matthew was very quick to serve us knowing many of the patrons would need to make the show as well and he wanted to make sure our order was in. They put us in a room by the windows which we loved since the main dining area seems a bit cramped with tables on top of each other and definitely louder. This was the perfect ambiance for the occasion! We picked Gibson's since we've been there before and love their food (although I felt their twice baked potatoes were overcooked this time...couldn't even eat the skins) but my fillet was fantastic! Thanks to Matthew for being such a great waiter!!!
My Mom and I were wanting an early dinner before heading to All State Arena.
It was wonderful and absolutely delicious. Everyone we spoke with was professional
and kind. Our waiter was terrific. It is almost a two hour drive from our home, but I
would surely consider this spot again if headed up near O'Hare.
Our server was particularly delightful and knowledgeable. My colleague had the prime rib sandwich which he enjoyed and I had the steak salad. The steak salad could have had 1 to 2 more slices, but it was certainly an adequate standalone meal. The amount of the wine pour was perfect and not skimpy like some restaurants have begun to serve.
Took several of my team members for dinner and they all had a blast! Everyone enjoyed the food and our server, Chris, helped make the evening one that we will remember for a long time! Chris recommended a seafood platter for our appetizer and we were not disappointed ~ the platter consisted of shrimp cocktail, spicy lobster and crab cocktail ~ the seafood was fresh and delicious! For our entrees, we ordered the ribeye steak, crab cakes, filet medallions, grilled white fish and steak sandwich. The servings were generous and most everyone finished their entrees. The steak was cooked to perfection, the crab cakes were crisp and super tasty, the filet medallions were also cooked to perfection as well as the fish and sandwich. Lastly, we ordered the apple strudel for our dessert and it was a great way to end the evening. Would highly recommend Gibson’s for a fun evening with great food.
Food was good as usual. Two of our party ordered diet coke and received small 8 oz bottles for $3.00 each. We felt like they pad the bill with these small bottles of soft drinks. I emailed the manager but he basically says that is what they do. We live downtown Chicago but might select another steak house in the future.
My boyfriend planned a surprise 30th birthday party for me in the private dining room at Gibson's in Rosemont and it was absolutely outstanding. Our own preset menu personalized with my name and a birthday greeting... Private Room with our own bar... incredible service... great food... amazing dessert... just WOW! I would definitely recommend for a large group for a special occasion. Everyone was not only pleased, but impressed!
Service was slow and weak. Steaks are perhaps a touch above average and extremely overpriced. I have eaten in well over a hundred well respected steakhouses nationwide and have difficulty rating this one at anything more than barely average. They seem very proud of themselves, but the reason for this I cannot fathom. Our service was ineffective and moved at a glacial pace. Drinks arrived late and were incorrect. Overall a disappointing experience at over $100 a person. I would suggest you could spend your money much more wisely elsewhere.
