Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse - Rosemont Ratings and Reviews
Had an amazing time the only thing that I might change or think about, when there’s a birthday everyone yells and goes around the table. To be honest i jumped a couple times and maybe it was just a lucky night where there was a lot of birthdays, but it felt almost like every 10 or 15 minuets we heard everyone yelling. It was okay but by the time we were ready to go I had enough of the yelling. Besides that I’d come there everyday. Great food and wasn’t too much to where I couldn’t walk out. 2nd time I’ve been there and there will be many more
Kind of choppy service wise; started with one server and then two others came by to close us out. Got free dessert, which we didn't ask for, then no one asked us if we wanted any other dessert. Which we did. Love the place so I'll be back but with a skeptical eye.
It's a steak house! Tables are a little crowded together but it's a lively place. Waiters are well seasoned and know the menu well. Service was good. Food was good. No one was disappointed. Dessert was huge! Almost too big, the 4 of us shared one. It's a little on the pricey side but for a special occasion . . .
Everything was perfect except for the creamed spinach which wasn’t hot enough. Manager came to our rescue right away and remedied our situation. It was our 40th wedding anniversary as well as my wife’s birthday. The steaks were absolutely outstanding. We both went with the house cut.
A classic Chicago steak place complete with a wall of fame photos, waiters with white jackets and a raw menu brought the table. The food (steaks, salads and desserts) was delicious befitting expectations with large portions. The carrot cake was literally the biggest dessert I have ever had. It was a 10 inch tall (3 layers) quarter of a cake we withba diameter of 12 Inches. It was moist with creamy cream cheese dressing.
This place was an easy walk from the hotel and more than satisfied a craving for meat and seafood. We had a custom appetizer which included Shrimp, Oysters & Crab, was a very large portion and was outstanding. For entrees the Bone-in Rib-eye and Porterhouse were both amazing. Good sides and wine as well.
Have not eaten at a Gibson's in many years. The Gibson's of Rosemont did not disappoint. I like my steaks MW and my steak was cooked to perfection. I am almost ashamed to say I ate the whole thing! The service could not possibly have been any better. We shared a double baked potato while my husband ordered a house salad and cole slaw and I had the sweet onion and tomato salad. They were all delicious and I would definitely have again. Our waiter was named Donald Haupt and he was fantastic. I would certainly ask for his table again. Very professional, helpful and friendly.
We enjoyed another excellent meal at Gibsons-Rosemont to celebrate my birthday. My date ordered the large lobster tail- it was huge. My lamb chops were cooked perfectly and had an excellent flavor. The staff paid meticulous attention to our table. We were treated to a massive slice of carrot cake for my birthday.
A perfect night!
Sadly, our recent dining experience was not great. We waited 25 min for a table with a reservation. The over-crowded side room was hot. The servers were clearly harried on a very busy night. We asked to substitute hash browns for French fries which really threw them. Although they initially said it can’t be done (what?!? Not even with upcharge?!?) but then they “asked the chef” who agreed to do so. We had reserved noting a birthday but no mention or dessert was offered. The entire evening was not nearly as good as we have come to expect. Typically we love this place—but on Saturday our visit was far sub-par.
My wife and I wanted to meet our friends for an early dinner followed by a movie. We choose Gibson's. All four of us enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and the food. My attorney friend said
that this is now his favorite steakhouse. He said it was the best steak he had ever eaten. Our
entire party agreed, that the filet mignons were cooked perfectly. The flavor....Perfection!
Thank you Gibson's for a very enjoyable dining experience.
We were a party of 8 celebrating a milestone birthday. The service was attentive and accommodating. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and we never felt rushed or pressured to leave, quite the contrary in fact. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable time. Looking forward to my next visit.
