Great anniversary experience
Great food and the service was great!
Everything was great! Will be back! Our server was the best! Food outstanding!
Great service, nice atomshere and great food.
One of the best steaks in the United Steaks!
Came highly recommended. Overall, food was good, but the meal was constantly interrupted by multiple people, not just our waiter.
Our server was great! Food just hasn’t been great lately
The steak was over cooked.
Hostess tried to seat us at small back table. No good for large seniors. After refusing we were placed in an acceptable area and table.
The most reliably great restaurant north of the city with unbelievably attentive service
Split the 19oz sirloin cooked to perfection. Medium throughput
Just an absolutely amazing bone in filet fro Australia. Crab cake was very good, but slightly dry. Sweet potato was huge and awesome
Great as always, Professional staff and the food was outstanding.
Joe Gonzalez was great fun as a waiter, we enjoyed ourselves very much!
Had a Sunday 4:00 reserv. Pre theater performance. Roger had high end steak. Very good. I had the halibut poor quality and size. Shaw’s in Schaumburg their halibut was outstanding. Check it out and you’ll see. We shared our sides huge baked sweet pot and creamed spinach were very good. Wine was fine. Salad ok and raspberry sorbet was very good. Thanx KH
Always enjoy Gibson's no matter the location! Love the food!
Had a family date night. After a busy week we have a night out and enjoy it with our son. We visit the restaurant quite often. Never had a bad experience. Recommend it to all.
Gibson’s has excellent food! Portions are big but all very easy to share. And always great to take home leftovers for heating the next day. Service is wonderful too. No one rushes you. Can have a nice, relaxing dinner.
We’ve been here several times over the last few years so Hubby & I decided to go here for our 11th wedding anniversary dinner. We arrived late but the host was gracious enough to work us back in within a half hour even though they were super busy. While we waited for our table, we enjoyed a wonderful live singer in the bar with our drinks which we got quickly. Once seated, we noticed the tables were crammed together (people were even seated between doorways!) and much of the clientele were what I consider “locker room” class - backward hats, gym shoes, scrubby shorts, T-shirts and foul language (and I’m talking even older gentlemen!) When we asked our waiter if the crowd tends to be more “casual” in that location, he responded that Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse is a “bar” first, “steakhouse” second. Really? We had always thought of it as one of the “nicer” places to take a date for a nice evening of good food. Speaking of the food - we shared a surf & turf (lobster & filet) with garlic mash & broccolini. Surf was really good, turf was over-charred for me (I could tap on it with my knife), mash was very bland and had undercooked chunks in it and broccolini was dry. Not an impressionable meal at all. One odd thing as we were finishing our meal - a waiter had taken apart a giant round table and was rolling it in between customers’ tables to get it back into the back room. Wouldn’t this have been better done at the end of the night during cleanup time? Not while patrons are still dining? One plus - our waiter gave us a creme brûlée on the house for our anniversary but it was obviously not fresh as it was cold all the way through. If they caramelize the sugar just before serving, the top layer should still be warm from the flame. A neighboring table shared their ice cream dessert with us & that was actually pretty good! All in all, it was an “ok” experience but I already knew before we left that it’ll be a very long time before we come back - at least not to that location.
Amazing food, our waiter was very knowledgeable, friendly. Highly recommend the Chicago Cut steak!
Good food and service; however, the dining room has no ambiance. It is loud and bright feels more like a THI Fridays than a Chicago chop house. Also, every five minutes the wait staff yelled at the top of their lungs with what sounded like "F**k You!!" We think it was a birthday chant. It really cheapened the experience. After dinner we went to the bar to grab after dinner drinks and conversation. The musician was so loud we could not hear each other so we went elsewhere. With Morton's and Capital Grille nearby, this will not be our first choice of chop houses in the future.
The booth was nice except when a table was sat next to us they couldn’t have ordered from my lap??? Terrible
To bad because food was great & server!! Very bad situation especially for the cost of the dinner
We really enjoyed the overall experience at Gibson’s; our server, Bill was knowledgeable and attentive, the food was terrific and the restaurant was beautiful!
Steak was a good size but no taste or flavor, no rub, bread was cold. Been to less expensive restaurants that have the same type of steaks and are way much better and at a better price. My GF and I share the same opinion and have decided not to return to a Gibsons restaurant
We were in town for a Convention and had dinner with family. The roasted chicken was just barely warm and pretty dry. Crab/avocado appetizer was very mayonnaisey! Waiter was very attentive. Service was great Not sure I’ll be back
The food was excellent as was the service. One of my favorite restaurants. The white fish was excellent and I love their blue cheese dressing on their salads. The manager Vince is a great guy too.
Great Chicago steak house experience. Bring a big party if you plan on dessert.
Been coming to Gibson's (downtown) since they opened !!
The service was good. Our meal was OK. They pack you in, table on table. Noise level is way too high. Hard to have a conversation without talking loud.
This is a business only restaurant. I was celebrating a family accomplishment and they could care less.
We had terrible service and none of the steaks were cooked right.
I will never go to Gibson's again!
The Management could not care less if your meal was prepared properly. They were A-Holes!
Outstanding, great experience, food exceptional, service immaculate and great parking service!
Too noisy for a business meal. Tables too close together. Table we were given was next door to the kitchen door and had too much foot traffic. One steak (filet) was ordered well done and was overcooked and dry.
Gibson's is among our favorite steak houses and is always a special occasion. I have been eating at Gibson's since it first opened (although we are now in Texas) and have never been disappointed. Our server, Faisal. was nothing short of amazing! He was pleasant, professional, great sense of humor and sense of making our experience delightful. He split dishes for us, plated the portions separately, customized dishes exactly as we preferred and was attentive without being intrusive. He paced the meal as we wanted. I had the 10 oz filet - cooked perfectly as I requested and a truly prime special meat. We are not "sender back" people. My wifes had the whitefish and it was a bit over cooked and dry. He comment, "don't order fish at a steakhouse" said it all. Fortunately, my portion of filet enabled us to have a "surf and turf" so the whitefish was inconvenient, but, not distracting. I recommend Gibson's anytime you are in Chicago. Note, that we dined at the Rosemont location. Gibson's will not disappoint. The managers and Faisal dropped by several times so see how we were enjoying the meal and I am certain they would have replaced the whitefish had we raised the overdoneness. It did not distract from an amazing experience.
Love Gibson's but the food shockingly was a bit off this night. Nothing was hot once we received it, the cheese on the potato was barely melted & the chocolate cake was nothing special, it was dry & the frosting had a bitter taste.
Great food never disappoints. Service and points I highly recommend it
We had the option of going to Morton’s, Capital Grille or Gibsons. I was gently pushing for Gibson’s and thank goodness the adult kids chose Gibson’s. The food was spectacular. Service was subpar. He seemed bored and not fully trained for a high end restaurant. Reached over my drink and space while removing 4th place setting like I was at your run of the mill diner. Seemed very nonchalant about service. Not what I wanted for my daughter’s birthday celebration. We spent $450 for dinner for three, not too shabby, and just expected better service than we received. It wasn’t horrible but it was more run of the mill I also stated it was my daughter’s birthday in my reservation and the server brought the check with zero mention of the occasion. I whispered to the busboy it was my daughter’s birthday and HE made it happen There’s something wrong (or right, with your busboy- keep him and promote him). I know you’re busy frequently but there are many options and tonight we chose you. Missed opportunity. It was so awkward when the servers gathered around the table 8 or so minutes after paying the bill, which I stalled for the small, but symbolic celebration Very dissatisfied and will not be back, after being a loyal customer for over 12 years.
Why must everyone in the party be present before being seated? 3 out of the 4 showed up on-time for a 7pm reservation and they were told to wait at the bar. When the 4th person showed up a bit later, the party had to wait another 20 minutes to be seated.
My steak, wine and service were good. Mashed potatoes were dry & crumbly, and the Brussels sprouts were undercooked, had a hint of bacon but not a trace of maple butter & somehow tasted of mustard.
If I’m paying that much for a meal, it needs to be better. Much better.
Awesome dinner - steaks cooked to perfection. Servers attentive.
First time back in 12 years...haven't lost a step. Value, quality and consistency. Bravo!
Disappointing experience from the start when attempting to park and the entrance was roped off and the smell of fresh tar did not create a welcoming environment. We ordered two of the W.R. Chicago Cut steaks cooked the same way and one of them was decent but did not live up to the hype and the other one was tough and not worth what was charged. Our side was prepared wrong and served raw instead of steamed and soft as requested and when we asked for it the way we originally requested the fix was still not right so we did not eat it and no one noticed. My wife also commented on the bathrooms being a little run down for such an expensive menu and the staff presence was unnerving. To top it off we paid $15 to park for an hour and a half. We will not be returning to this establishment unfortunately.
